Good day, members of SMWCentral - I trust you all have enjoyed the fine festivities of your so-called "Central Creativity Convention"? It's a good day, yes, a splendid day, indeed because I believe we have finally caught the culprits of this malicious act toward our dear Mario! Now, first and foremost I would like to apologize for not being able to chitchat with all of you. Rest assured it is because I have been hard at work cracking the mystery of this stubborn case. Just like you good fellows! After finally getting a straight answer, and a full admittance to the crime from some of the original suspects, I believe we finally have a conclusive idea of what transpired here at the Princess's party:
Like all great stories, we must start at the very beginning. The guests arrived at 10:30 in the morning like Toadsworth said. To begin, they spent a couple hours golfing on a series of courses, which I believe was the “calm period” of the party, as in nothing malicious (that I know of) happened during it. From there, the crew went kart racing on some of the many tracks owned by the Princess. It was during this time that the cake was moved by Bowser Jr., Wario, Waluigi, Luigi, and Yoshi to be safely eaten later in the party. Next, they went about with what they called... er, Mario Party? Oddly specific name. Anyway, it was during these games that the cake was eaten by - once again - Bowser Jr., Wario, Waluigi, and Yoshi. Why didn't Luigi eat the cake after going to the trouble of moving it with the other? Who knows? Perhaps the guilt of having done a crime had made him lose his appetite. Regardless, they next moved onto yet another sport, Tennis. While nothing really transpired during the hours spent going back and forth in what I assume were amateur matches, it's now known that the cake had been eaten right before then, so it's not surprising in the slightest that cake frosting was found on some of the rackets. Sloppy work, I say!
And last, but most certainly not least, we get to the dreaded basketball games where Mario acted as the referee. Something which almost did him in. A few repeated fouls on some particularly troublemaking players caused a certain few of those troublemakers to harbor a grudge - or should I say - an even bigger grudge than the one already held. If I had known the background between Mario and Bowser Jr., my detective instincts would have kicked into overdrive, and I would've almost immediately figured out it was him! Using some strange device, or, article of clothing around his neck, Bowser Jr. had been able to turn into some strange imitation of our dear boy, and thus, plant the near identical footprints. I guess Mario's gotten new shoes since then?
Thank you, I repeat - thank you for your help, SMWC. Though, if I am to completely honest with you all... I must thank a few of you above all.
leod, Gloomier, and Falconpunch; you three not only helped cracked the case, but you also showed exemplary skill in observation, and applied very sound logic to the few clues found along the way. Yes, very admirable indeed! Who knows? Perhaps a certain one of you may even become as wonderful a detective as I am one day!
Along with the three of them, I have a group of other select users I'd like to thank for their hard work. You might've not solved the case, or applied the best logic you could have - but you still tried your best, and that's an admirable feat in and of itself, you know! What you sent me most certainly contributed to the case in any regard. A list of these users (in no particular order, of course!):
- GlitchMr
- Ruberjig
- shibboleet
- Final Theory
- Hobz
- TheBasicASMGuy
- Blind Devil
- ft029
- kamekku14
- Eminus
- Wavee
- Noivern
- Theultimate12
And with all that said, this case is now officially closed and added to the ever-expanding list of mysteries now solved by yours truly. While this is most certainly splendid news itself, it also unfortunately means that my time here is now finished. I must bid farewell, however sad it may be! I fear I've been absent from the Poshley Sanctum for far too long now, and I have things I must tend to as soon as possible. Who knows what sort of things could have happened to it while its caretaker was away on some case! It's been a wonderful time, members of Super Mario World Central, and I wish the best of luck in your future. Until then!
...oh, and before I forget, I was also asked to post the results of a vote you all apparently held in accordance with this C3 I've heard so much about. Not sure what that's all about, but here you go anyway:
