The Devious Four Chronicles 3: The Crater

In this game you take on the role of Mario trying to stop two unworldly beings from taking over and destroying the mushroom kingdom. Facing difficult odds Mario finds a new ally that wants to aid him in his quest to stop the evil and save the mushroom kingdom.

This game is very heavily story based and can take a while to get through though all the cutscenes are skip-able, but what this game suffers from with lengthy cutscenes it makes up for it with marvelous gameplay.
The game starts off easy enough with levels like Grasslands of Focur that's a fairly straight forward level akin to what any other mario hack would have in the first world though a bit on the longer side. The game then starts to show it's true colors at Racter's Tower with tight platforming, single block jumps, invincible enemies and multiple midpoints making for a long level but very fulfilling once it's beaten. The game continues this trend getting harder and harder all the way to Furnace and beyond though the player should never feel like it's the games faulty, as hard as the game is everything is built fairly with a gentle enough curve that even inexperienced players should be skilled enough by the end to not have a ton of trouble.

Now as far as graphics go a lot of them look really nice and work well together, though Mario himself does look out of place sometimes. The enemies do use the redrawn style and personally I don't really care for it that's just one opinion but doesn't take anything away from the gameplay aspects which should be more important.

As stated the game is very heavily story based and does take time to get through it all especially if you are interesting in it like I was and want to read the entire thing so that could be a turn off for some players, but if all you want is the game every cutscene can be skipped by pressing the start button.

I would highly recommend this hack to other players for both the gameplay and the story and my vote is for featuring it.

Deadline November 20th
rip.

Considering Ninjaboy's opinion only, going with a FEATURE!
