Congratulations to MetalKirby4, for winning the tournament. Honorary mention to Tommy15551, who took second place, and pikaguy900/Giga were tied for third.

Archive stuff:

RULES:
-You must play 2P Vs. Mode on skill level 3.
-The first person to reach 3 points (i.e. wins a total of six matches) wins. If you lose, you are eliminated from the tournament. The winner must then either post here, or send me a private message stating that they won so that I can update the tournament bracket.
-It is yours and your partner's responsibility to set up your match in the next eight days. Use PMs to arrange a time, contact each other on the appropriate Hamachi server, etc. Remember that you must each have the same copy of a Tetris Attack ROM - if neither of you have a copy, you may send me a PM for one.
-It is strongly suggested that you use ZSNES 1.36 due to less desyncing issues - however, if you and your partner would prefer 1.42, that is fine as well. Remember that you must both use the same version of ZSNES.
-If your partner does not show up to your game, or you are unable to make a match, please contact me ASAP.

TIPS FOR A SMOOTH GAME:
-Try to organize a time as soon as possible. These matches will not take long at all, and procrastinating often leads to missed matches.
-If you are hosting the netplay game, simply choose whether you are playing TCP/IP or UDP (determined by the checkbox at the bottom of the netplay window in ZSNES), and click "Start as Server".
-If you are joining the netplay game, input your partner's Hamachi IP (5.whatever) into the box. Make sure that, depending on what game they set up (TCP/IP or UDP), that your checkbox reflects theirs.
-Please make sure your Tetris Attack ROM is in an accessible folder from ZSNES, or else you will have "ROM Not Found!" issues when trying to start it up.
-Remember that at any time during the game, you can press T to chat with your partner.

That should cover all of the important stuff. Without further ado, here is the tournament bracket

Do realize that there are four networks here. Simply join the appropriate server with your partner to have your matches. If you are incapable of reading a tournament bracket for some reason, then feel free to ask who you are facing (assuming they do not contact you first).

That should be it. If you and your partner need a ROM (though please attempt to find your own), you can send me a PM - do not ask for it in this thread. If there are any other questions (issues with netplay, Hamachi, etc.), you may ask here.

Alright. Have fun, and good luck.
Dang it, I wished I'd signed up for this.

Looks like it will be good.

Edit: I'm gonna put my money on Luigi-San.

A complete guess. Nothing educated about it. I'm just saying a random user.

carsr4carspeople, I will try my hardest to make the game not be too short. PM me when you see this message about how we are going to setup the game.

Good Luck to everyone and especially Master Valads (I rather be in his shoes than my own for the heck of it)
I wonder what a HFD opcode would do in ASM...
I'm glad I'm not in the same bracket as Weegie, since I made a deal with him that I'd drop if we met before the quarters.

I'll be available any time past 1 PM today, and just about all the time until next Tuesday. If BD gets on and PMs me when he can play, I'll do my best to be here at that time.

Posted this at 10 AM.

This is a thing that's happening, now. Achievements in old video games.
Thank you for the layout, Erik557.
Man, I wish this would've worked. Oh well.
If not for respect, but dramatic effect, take on the face of Guy Fawkes.
Cool, I'm not up against Azure at the start, nor are we in the same bracket! Now I won't get my butt kicked by him so early in the match. XD

Super Gamer bros, drop me a PM whenever you're ready to play, okay? Or, if you have IRC access, get on the #smwc channel. I'm easier to get in touch with there. ;)
<Adam> I feel like smwc is a prostitute now, because we put up a porn ad for money
Hmm, looks like in order to face Giga (net-played him recently and he's definitely the hardest human opponent so far, though I won most of the matches) in the Quarter Finals, I have to possibly beat Azure. You better be ready Azure, as I have heard quite a bit about you. Good luck in the tournament everyone, and see you guys in the Quarter Finals (might be bragging a bit, but I'm confident)!

I am available basically all day after 2 PM CST. July 4, though, I will be at my sister's house, but I believe my match will finish before then.

So we play best out of five? That would be basically first to three points, like you said. (Except you said for your example "out of a total of six matches. This would be impossible if it was first to three because the most games played would be five [1-0, 1-1, 2-1, 2-2, 3-2].)

In other news, Yoshi Island check your PMs.

SNN is assuming that everyone will play matches that require two wins to get a point. That basically means win at least six battles to win.

edit:

although i admit the test matches with Bubblun didnt have problems the actual matches with Supertails lagged ALOT and horribly

edit2:

Dude, whenever you're ready, I'll be waiting. If you need to though, I'll usually be at #smwc or on hamachi. If you have AIM, I'll download it (I already have a screen name though). I won't be on much Saturday though.
Go Azure!!

And that is all you'll hear from me regarding the tournament while it's going on.
Yes, updated the bracket.

Zao: Metalkirby4 summed up what I said nicely. In order to receive a point, you must win two matches. Since we are playing to three points, that would mean you would have to win six total matches to beat your opponent.
Damnit andrevus and I tried netplaying for fun and we got horrible desynching issues and after multiple tries we gave up. What was intended to be fun ended up as a angerfest. D:
Well, even though I lost by a large margin to andrevus, it was still a lot of fun to play and I look forward to seeing how the rest of this tournament plays out.
yes Zao you could see how i started to curse in all caps over Hamachi in frustration.Im long tempered but these technical problems got over my nerve limmit. And of all things unexpected it was on Zsnes 1.36.

...and they say 1.42 has issues...

Yep, same for me against my opponent. I still say I should have practiced more.
I won against Bubblun 3 wins to 0. We had some fun matches, but in his words, it was "Offense VS Defense," with him being the Defense. Good effort, though, I'll give him that.

Well I am out of the tournament, got hammered by MetalKirby. Was a very tough match.
Updated the bracket again.

That is 3/16 matches done on the first day. Not bad - let's see if we can get the rest done soon.
