SNES9x Occasional Freezing

I'll be using SNES9x to play SMW (or any SNES game, really), when suddenly, the game will freeze for about 0.5 to 2 seconds. It isn't all THAT intrusive, but it can get annoying, especially if you're enjoying the music. Has anyone else encountered this issue? #smw{o_O?}

PS: 1.5.5.0 is the version of SNES9x I'm using.

EDIT: Nevermind, it was the "Auto-Save S-RAM" function.
can you update your snes9x version from 1.5.5.0 to 1.60?
As my edited comment says, it was the "Auto-Save S-RAM" function. I didn't know it was enabled for quite some time.
Sounds like your hard drive might be very slow then. Another solution could be to move the ROM to an SSD and see if the freezing is gone.

With the SRAM auto-save, I imagine if your emulator ever crashes, you will lose any progress made since you started the game.
Feel free to visit my website/blog - it's updated rarely, but it looks pretty cool!
that was assuming the OP was using a traditional HDD drive rather than a modern SSD as the OP did not post any specs of the computer being used
