Four levels that I thought I'd compile into a potential new hack and release before I lost the chance to, since my motivation to make levels is pretty much in a rollercoaster. I suppose the levels are at least serviceable.

(If I missed your name in the credits, please let me know!)

At least you did something and is what matters. I'll try later but don't worry -- relax a little and don't push youself, take your time. Keep it up!
Exclusive content and nostalgia!
This looks pretty neat! I'm watching GDQ rn but I will play it right after.
SMB3 styled hacks were always my favorite type, and I like a lot how you mixed YI graphics with SMB3's, like if it was from that game

I see Mirann content, I click!

Looking really fresh there! I've always loved SMAS graphics, and them being put together without any mistakes on the palettes is already a huge plus to me. It's so rare to see such hacks nowadays. Anyway, I remember trying out the demo at one point, and being your partner last VLDCX, I'm hopeful that the level design for the future levels will be promising too!

I support this hack, please finish it even if it's just less than 10 levels.
It's nice that you're getting something out there!
I'm pretty much just going looking at interesting threads, and seeing what ppl I recognize have created.
Please pardon the eye.
I'm a big fan of SMAS-style, so i get interested in hacks that make s use this style, as someone have said, take any amount of time you need, i've seen some levels that you've shown previously and i think that you have a great potential.

Another hack that looks fun to play. Also, don't worry, just do the levels at your own pace. Even if you take long to make levels, if they're fun, that's enough. I think a short project can help you make very nice levels without being too much compromised. #smrpg{:3}

Tried it out now, and it was pretty fun! I liked that it also mixed in some newer Mario elements like the Propeller Block, along with some original enemy alterations. I hope you're able to turn this into a complete hack sometime!
It's been a while since I've seen a SMAS-styled hack, especially one made by a renowned site user. I hope you finish it.

----------------

I'm working on a hack! Check it out here. Progress: 64/95 levels.
Just finished playing the levels, and I had a good time with them. They were not my kind of hack/difficulty, but I loved the aesthetics (the SMB3 chuck was pretty well done) and the collectibles in the hack (not that easy to find them, actually). My only criticism is that the jumping cheep cheep section felt too overcrowded and difficult in comparison with the rest. Good work, I would like to see the finished hack , as others have said, even if it's just a few levels long (in fact my hack only had 7)
I like how it looks, the styles come together quite well

allow shy guy emojis in post footers you cowards!
I just played the demo, and this hack was pretty good! The aesthetics are well-done, and the level design is decent. While the design style of the levels isn't what I tend to gravitate towards, the levels are still solid. Great job, and keep up the good work!
Played it, and I think it's a very good hack despite its short length. Everything mixes well together and the level design is well-balanced.

My Discord server. It has a lot of archived ASM stuff, so check that out!

100% (?) playthrough:

comments (with timestamps for levels in the video):

wow that 'nintendo presents' yui logo is clean. i already knew this was gonna be good right when i saw it

level 1 (0:28): standard mario level with some gimmicks like switches and propeller block. i liked the usage and little puzzles to get the star coins here. the vine was well placed for star coin 2. good start to the game

level 2 (10:34): the music here is a jam. more usage of red/blue switches and the introduction of a variety of piranhas. the only place to get a super leaf ;__;

this one was really good and the secret exit was super hard to get but i eventually did it (with save states at the end cuz i was down to 1 life, dont kill me pls :()

(edit: after opening it up in lunar magic, i realize how stupid i am and you should always use all the buttons in smw)

i liked how bombs exploded those blue crate blocks, that was kinda neat. i think the combination of the background and music made this my favourite level in the hack

also, pokeys suck

level 3 (34:40): angrey spinies. reminds me of 3-4 from SMB3 with all enemy types. the p-switch was a nice touch. pretty relaxing stroll through

level 4 (37:48): 🐟
i liked the music here too, it was a pretty chill level. lots of platforming and running with stars. challenging star coin placement. i fell for the poison mushroom here :'(

general summary: really good hack and i was sad it was so short. all the levels are fun, great background and foreground choices, great music choices, the hud looks very clean, and good level design. its not too difficult and the mood is very relaxing, and i enjoyed it very much.

thank you for making this, i hope to see more mirann content in the future 🤟🎀
It's always nice to see hack like this, it looks pretty fun to play and i dig this style.

Ey this looks gorgeus! Just from the screenshots I can already see there's a lotta variety in the mixing between the SMAS games' assets. Hope to have a chance of playing it soon

You're right. If there's a way to decrease the spawning of cheep-cheeps in the level I'll be applying the change for a future version.
I've tried setting the sprite header to 07, and while it did make the generator spawn less cheep-cheeps it made other sprites despawn while the generator is active, which kinda bothered me.

Thanks a lot for taking your time playing, and even recording a video! #smrpg{<3} And I'm sorry for the frustrations you went through the second level lol
That Yui is by Koyuki whom I asked permission to use.

Thanks a lot everyone for the comments - they're very appreciated! I hope I can keep my motivation up for a better release in the future.
I look forward to it!
Please pardon the eye.
