File Name: Robo-Koopas and Galoombots
Submitted: by AppleBoy
Authors: AppleBoy
Type: Original
Purpose: Sprite
Description: Robotic Koopas and Galoombas for a factory level, I suppose. Now includes Net Robo-Koopas and Caped Robo-Koopas, as well as Parachute Galoombots!
Screenshots:
While I like your idea, I'll have to reject this submission for several reasons:

Here are the screenshots, and while I already explained the problems there, I'll go even further in this log and make some detailed observations.

First thing, don't replace graphics that your submission isn't going to use. For example, in the first screenshot, your graphics are replacing not only the sliding koopa, but the cape feather, one of the lakitu clouds sprite. What if the player want to use these sprites? Please be more careful next time. I saw that you are using the DKCR Status Bar, but please remember, not everyone is going to use it, so it's occuping unnecessary space in the GFX.

Second thing, you replaced the blue koopa graphics by the standard ones. Why? Since you draw the net koopas, superkoopas and para-goomba, why not the blue koopa? Also, why is there a goomba replacing a cheep-cheep sprite? Once again, players won't be able to use the cheep-cheep sprite if they want. Please reconsider that when replacing graphics. The other three GFXs don't suffer from this problem, so they are fine.

Now, let's talk about the graphics itself. The first thing is that goomba is odd, because the outline doesn't complement its curve well, I suggest you adjust their outlines, so they look rounded. Also the shading of the sprites could be better, because the shading is too simple, it doesn't look robotic at all. For metallic things like robots, extra shading would make the sprites look more interesting. The same applies for the super koopas, net koopas and paragoomba variants.

The second thing is that you could have edited more the overall shape of the koopas and goombas, to make them look more distinctive from the SMW ones. Their body shape looks the same as the original. When making custom graphics, please take more time and try to experiment with new things, don't be afraid to take some risks. I recommend you checking this Workshop made by Lumy, it has some nice tips about pixel art.

The third thing : palmask is missing. Please include palmasks with your submissions. There's a lot of colors in the palette that the user will not even use. There's no necessity to overwrite all the palette. Remember that people will use a lot of different graphics in their hacks, if they want, so a palmask is an important item to not mess up their levels.

Now, let's move to some minor stuff.

While the EXGFX names are okay, I suggest you to rename them to "GFX01", "GFX00" and etc, so It will become easier to people insert the sprites graphic. Not a removal reason, but I just wanted to point that out.

With that said, if you take your time, fix these issues and rework a bit more the design of the koopas and galoombas, then these graphics shall be accepted. I really found your idea very creative, so I encourage you to experiment with even more.
