My first criticism is that the levels ended up being quite samey. Most of them had Mario run through an incredibly flat terrain with enemies spread around, enter a door or a pipe, and then run through an another incredibly flat terrain with enemies spread around. The enemy placement in these corridors also tends to be quite repetitive, and usually you've seen everything the corridor has to offer when you're only halfway through.
Second criticism is that there was barely any difficulty scaling. The hack starts out quite difficult, but then it remains at that difficulty until the final two castles, and the star world. Thankfully though, it was difficult enough to not be boring; cancelling out much of the criticism I've made thus far.
Then there's also the frequently occurring ghost house puzzle: Choose the correct door or repeat an earlier section. The final two occurrances where good though, since they where more like puzzles than simple guessing games. The version where you had to find the odd one out was also an enjoyable puzzle.
Some really frustrating aspects though where the final encounter against Lemmy, the complete lack of power-ups "On The Moon", the secret exit at "Wendy Koopa's Ship", and the broken lift in "Larry's Castle" that forces you to use the cape in order to pass the stage. Unlike the previous criticisms, I can't be very constructive with these.
Some final, but very minor, criticisms are the complete lack of checkpoints in every stage except the final one, and that you're always short on time when finishing a stage. These where mostly unnoticable though.
All in all, I wouldn't call it a good hack, but I did mostly enjoy my time with it.
3/10
This hack is awful, probably one of the worst I've ever played. The main offender here is the design, which is extremly flat and repetitive. Repetitivity is what hurted me most; each level is like "Hey I had this idea of making this particular section, let's spam it trough the whole level". This is, even, a big hack, so you can't imagine how boring it will become if you're aiming to 100% it. But that's not all. Another big complaint I have is about some levels' secret exits, which aren't intuitive at all. An example is "Wendy Koopa's Ship": a level with no horizontal scroll, where the keyhole can be reached by an exit located over the screen. You're unable to see it, and, unless you're the creator of the hack or go for a look in Lunar Magic, it has no way to be discovered fairly. This is just one of the many many flaws this hack has.
Aesthetic-wise, there are cutoff and some weird palettes here and there, but most of the levels look decent. Not much to say here.
As issues, I'd only point out some major slowdown occuring in some levels, which is very irritating.
Overall, if you're looking for the worst hacks ever made, I'd recommend you this. You will sure have lots of fun.
