Description: | Well, it's not perfect. This was, all in all, a test hack. That does not mean it is bad, however... It's a fairly difficult hack, though I have toned it down since the demo. There's no ExGFX, no custom sprites, and no custom music. However, it DOES have good level design, and that's what really matters. I know I can make good graphics, insert music, etc., but I wasn't sure of my level design abilities. Like I said, this was a test for me, to improve my skills where they needed improvement. That being said... I know it's not the best hack out there, but give it a shot. You won't be disappointed, especially if you follow through to the end. Note: There's a door at the top of the screen in Gemstone Ghosthouse that may block off some paths on the overworld. There's only one exit, found by taking the doors at the end. |

Playing this hack without save states, infinite lives, or any other tools for as pure an experience as possible, the hack took over 9 and a half hours to complete all exits, about a third of which was probably spent gathering lives to not game over and start over from a sporadically placed save point. As many others have pointed out, it's a bad hack but has a unique old charm that stands out with its custom elements, shorter levels, and Kaizo-esque qualities. I'm glad it's been beaten and will probably never touch it again tho.
There are a lot of memorable setups and nice gimmicks for each level that tend to be used in different ways. If you want to try out a really old and hard hack and don't know where to start, this is a safe bet, it's a really fun one.
