Description: "Play To Win" is a hack that i started creating in the last months of 2021 with the idea of being polished, traditional, gimmicky, fun and creative.

Updates:

2022-10-14 -> Removed a secret pipe in 2-1 that was leading to an endless "bonus game" room.
2022-10-25 -> Fixed a yoshi coin not appearing in the second room of "Thwomp Gymnastics".

I'm about halfway through this hack and I'm SO IMPRESSED by the presentation on display here. Levels are well designed, soundtrack is top notch and the overall asset selection is top tier. GREAT WORK!!

I really enjoyed this thing. The graphics were neat and the levels were fun, easy, befitting the difficulty, and enjoyable. Well done!

I'm kind of late in replying to this (I just discovered this looking for other hacks and found this again by mistake due to its new name), but it was probably some bug on the SNES classic 🤷.
Last time I played it I assumed there were only three worlds. Maybe more worlds were added in an update or maybe they were there all along.

There was only 3 worlds in the demo version, and yes, they were added after, i think the endless bonus room you mentioned was in the world 3's castle where the demo ended.

Yes, that's how I remember it. I think I also looked at in Lunar Magic but this was a while ago.

I've started playing the new version from the start, and I like the auto-saving.

Could you show me a screenshot? I don't remember any level with a infinite bonus room.

A wonderful game with sometimes quite challenging, albeit short, colorful and well designed levels =]

Special mention to the very detailed and polished overworld ! GGs for world 5 in particular where you basically get one dedicated overworld section per level !

The new bonus stars game is refreshing too =]

My only complaint is that you are maybe using the "Yoshi Coin hidden somewhere in the sky thanks to a hidden block" gimmick a bit too much in the early game.

Speaking of Yoshi Coins, the last one of castle #3, Thwomp Gymnastics, disappears for some reason. As I could only find 4 Yoshi Coins I took a peek in Lunar Magic and saw that the last coin is intended to appear in the second room, at the right side of a net. But it does not appear, regardless you collected the previous Yoshi Coins or none of them when entering that room.

10/10 (5 stars) Thank you very much =]

What you call "powerup spam" i call it a way to make the game easier for less skilled players, maybe I exaggerated with the number power-ups in some places but as I said, I made it so less skilled players can also feel comfortable playing without losing everytime.

Awesome hack! I'm currently at the castle in World 6 but my screen goes black once I enter the door. Is that part of the game or did it crash on my SNES Classic?

Played this on my channel! Thought it was extremely fun! I really loved the variety of levels in the hack. The music choice was very good as well (Shout out to Pandora Palace from Deltarune)

The visual design of this, and the palettes used especially, were great. The Piranha and Wart boss battles were janky.

Nice work! Hands down on of the best 2022 Super Mario Rom hacks I've seen so far.
Final Theory From older version: Play To Win Link
I like the difficulty level because it wasn't crazy hard. Some graphics and music I like as well.

The boss with Wart is kind of janky because I had to get behind him and hold the item and hit it on him.

I like so Much this Game, very well M.S.

Fantastic hack. Each level feels distinct. Aesthetics are top-notch. Music choice is superb. Difficulty is very chill. I recommend this hack if you want a chill hack to relax and have fun.

there are too few non-kaizo hacks these days and this one makes up for that a bit :D so creative, polished and well designed.

Nice hack! Could do with more saves though. Since I found it quite challenging (since I'm bad) I needed to farm 1-ups. Still, I agree with the difficulty rating. Also, at the end, you're stuck in an infinite bonus room.

Fun lil demo you've got here! Loved the aesthetics and music and you achieved spot on standard: normal difficulty. Thanks for the chill time. 💚
rocksteadyDRIP From older version: Untitled Link
So how do you save? 3 Worlds in no save.
karinou From older version: Untitled Link
Eh beh, the first level was something for me, but it was a good hack, nothing specially bad i seen, some good ideas for the levels building, and particulary the overworld, and the background of the levels pretty good job in the hack
BeeKaay From older version: Untitled Link
Cool hack. Some of the level design is reminiscent of harder hacks, but the sections are short enough that it's not that hard.

A couple of bugs:

- This skull raft doesn't spawn sometimes.
- This boss can clip out of the stage, forcing you to wait out the timer. It happened when I damaged him as he was right next to a wall.
