Version History: View
Demo: No

Length: 25 exit(s)
Type: Standard: Hard, Kaizo: Beginner
Description: The gameplay is fun and simple, but varied.

There are 3 worlds: standard, platforming, and kaizo. Players can choose which worlds they want to play. Also there are optional secret levels: cape, water, motor skills, and more. These levels don't unlock more levels, and they aren't necessary to see the credits. Also, there are many fast strats built into the levels to reward continued play.

One of my favorite hacks of all time. So much fun, I keep coming back to play it again. Thank you NewPointless!

I like it

The Title Screen music. At some point it also got used in a FF game I believe. Not sure if there is an original composition that pre-dates the soap opera.

When I heard the theme from The Young and The Restless it immediately took me back to the days when I was playing Super Mario World and grandma would tell me to go play outside so she could watch her stories

Hi. Could it be that this mod doesn't run on SNES Mini. Did anyone else had this problem?

Yes, please play the previous version.

Wonderful hack. Tight in some places, but never suffers for it. Thanks for making it and popping into my stream!

Hey players, the new difficulty system is live. I am not the first creator to do kaizo and standard, obviously, but I'm proud to be a pioneer in the hybrid style. Now the difficulty reflects my true intentions as a creator.

We chose the beginner kaizo category, because there's a sense in the community that this is a beginner tier hack. It's definitely harder than Quickie World, though, and it's by no means a perfect first kaizo hack.

i ~adored~ this hack so so so so much. i downloaded for the kaizo path, but the other two paths are just as good! immediately one of my favorite hacks, thanks for making this NewPointless <3

Really great hack. I loved the idea of reviving the world as you beat the levels. The platforming world really ramped up in difficulty, but it was very satisfying to get through. Thanks for making it.

Thanks for playing, Nico! #smrpg{sick}

I think the 1st level isn't a good presentation for the hack, it's below the mean quality and confusing at first.

A lot of people misunderstand the first level, so I'll explain it here. The point of the level is to convey to kaizo players that the standard levels are standard levels. People were playing them as kaizo levels and not fully enjoying them. In Cleft of Creation, playing like everything is "required" is impossible, and I think it accomplished its objective.

This was a lot of fun!!
I specially liked the 2 first paths, I felt they were original, varied and the difficulty was on point. From the kaizo path I would highlight the water level, I usually hate them and this one was super cool. I think the 1st level isn't a good presentation for the hack, it's below the mean quality and confusing at first.

On the downside some bull s$%& obstacles in the last 2 castles and the kaizo path wasn't too interesting to me, but overall awesome hack!

Also, you updated the game just so the file size would have 666 and 69 in it didn't you?

Just finished version 1.1 tonight. This was an excellent hack. I really like the 3 routes. Some of the platforming levels felt as hard as the kaizo levels. That's not a complaint, I was into it. Keep up the good work!

Downloaded this hack today. Couldn't put it down. Not free, but not terribly brutal. Fair, fun, and unique! Thanks NewPointless!

I don't really understand why you kaizoed that level so hard when is in the "platforming" section but to each their own i guess.

The only difference is that you can't wait out the cycles in certain spots anymore. The waits were confusing people, the spawns were breaking, and also people were abusing it by waiting out 2 or 3 cycles in the first half of the room.

So I was playing through this taking my time, I'm not a very good kaizo player but I was managing. Then you hit me with the second section of Supernal Spire. I looked it up to see if i was not understanding something and youtube gives me the playtrough of juzcook. I searched for that section and realizes it looks way different. I don't really understand why you kaizoed that level so hard when is in the "platforming" section but to each their own i guess.

This is a tremendous hack, beginning to end, and is worth playing. It's fun, fair, challenging and enjoyable. Great work.

I love this hack! Super well designed levels. The progression path is a great idea. Aesthetic is perfect. Definitely one of my favorite light kaizo hacks of all time!

this is officially my favorite hack. highly imaginative level design gives this game 10/10 replayability. perfectly balanced difficulty leaves the player satisfied and eager to accomplish all alternate paths.

Really cool hack. I'm glad you chose to let your ideas flow instead of letting yourself be restricted to a single category of difficulty. I can tell you have a knack for designing levels, as innovation persisted through the whole hack. Multiple intended solutions, "worlds" of difficulty, and fast overworld ASM were among many simple but unique ideas which really made this hack shine. Experienced players will find this relaxing without getting bored, and newer players will find this challenging but not overwhelming. Excellent work.

Lovely hack. Nice difficulty curve (if you play in order lol), and the kaizo levels were a sure challenge without being tedious. Would gladly play again. 5/5

My only concern is that the hardest section was actually in the platforming section (the outdoors vertical/horizontally moving layer 2 section in the end castle) due to how crazy restrictive/tight it was.

Yeah it's good you mentioned that because people should know if they care to read the comments

Very cool hack. My only concern is that the hardest section was actually in the platforming section (the outdoors vertical/horizontally moving layer 2 section in the end castle) due to how crazy restrictive/tight it was. It made me super worried for the kaizo section, but fortunately nothing in there was even on the same level of difficulty.

Extremely good designed Hack. I love that the difficulty becomes logically harder as you proceed through the hack. I enjoyed it a lot! Probably my new favourite Hack!
