Description: My gift to you, the SMW Central community!

This is a very short hack, I would expect the average playthrough to take at most 1 hour.
All levels are short and are relatively easy without being too free.

This hack has no overworld and instant-retry, it is built with speedrunning in mind.

I hope you enjoy it, happy holidays!

I really enjoyed this hack! As a kaizo beginner (Quick World's, TIAGHTPIYJSPK... World), I thought the difficulty was perfect. I was excited to complete my first motor skills level.

I regret helping little Timmy get his copy of SMM2.

Really fun hack, nice job.

I'm not sure, but I did reset a number of times during the course of my playthrough.

snes9x. Exits can behave funny sometimes - different order of events can fail to trigger proper exits. Hey if was only me, great.

edit: just read tobson's post - not just me. Maybe I was talking about level 4 not 3? Whichever level has the orb, and to the right the fall/downpipe leading to the new section.

I didn't get upset or anything. It took 15 minutes for the 100% runback.

If this wasn't intentional then it's not a spoiler so here you go:

In level 3 I touched the orb, was sent to level 4, beat level 4 - and went to the title screen with 3 exits and no credits.

I started a new save file, in level 3 I went down the pipe instead of touching the orb - completed the new section - beat level 4 and got credits with 4 exits.

It all ended as soon as it began, but I did learn that santa mario can't look up.

That's very bizarre, and that never happened to me while testing, nor to my testers. What emulator/hardware are you using?
I tested both SNES9x and BSNES cores in BizHawk, I tested standalone SNES9x, I tested a jailbroken Super NT, and my testers used RetroArch (although I'm not sure what cores they were using).

I am talking about level 4. I've collected the orb a bunch of times but eventually managed to avoid it and then collected the goal tape. But then no credits rolled, I was sent back to the title screen, and the exit count read 3. Have a somehow fallen victim to another troll?

Hm, that's pretty weird. Maybe it has something to do with resetting? Did you reset the game at some point after

Regardless though, this is a very enjoyable hack I think. And I loved the aesthetics.

Regarding the aforementioned end goal troll:
How does this actually work? Is there no way to get the exit count to 4 on a given save file as soon as one collects the orb?

I'm not sure if you're talking about level 3 or 4. In level 4 you'll die if you touch the orb, if you touch the goaltape and watch the credits the game will reset itself and you should have 4 exits. If you're talking about level 3 then it may be possible for it show 5 exits instead of 4, I'm actually not sure, but it definitely should be at least 4.

Edit:
Just checked and if you do go all the way through to the troll in level 3 rather than having Mario die it does actually show up as 4 exits, assuming you just accept it and beat "level 1" it still counts as the 3rd exit and takes you to level 4. If you're talking about the orb in level 4 though that will kill you, you're not intended to actually collect it.

Bumpties, ice physics, and end goal trolls that require a new save file for completion. All in about a half an hour though. Merry christmas.

I'm sorry to hear that it misled you. I originally had it labelled as both beginner and intermediate, as it's definitely right in the middle, but mods changed it to beginner. :(
