Description: Welcome to my first hack!

This hack is intended to be an introduction for early beginners, with a few special bits thrown in for more experienced players. My goal in creating this was to create a hack to take on immediately after Learn 2 Kaizo.

Sections are very short, with a focus on trick performance. This hack will allow the player to perform shell jumps (including an assisted double shell jump), light cape tech (with more advanced optional sections), and more! I attempted to create levels that focus on mechanics common to kaizo.

There are 5 different intended challenges:
1) Any% route, which is 10 exits

2) 8 moons, which is collecting the moon in each of the any% levels. You should try to get to a midway or final goal without dying after collecting the moon!

3) 100%, which is 15 exits, and gives you credits

4) 11 moons, which is collecting all the main moons in the 15 exits

5) 13 moons, which includes the two secret moon challenge rooms in the special world

My goal is that 1 & 3 are easier than quickie, 2 & 4 approach quickie, and 5 is probably around ako but with shorter levels.

There is more detail in the readme, including specific Learning to Fly levels that will help you in the cape challenges for acheiving challenge 5.

While I think the name is correct, please do not be discouraged if you find this difficult. Any kaizo is tough, and while this hopefully represents an early step for beginners, it is still supposed to present a challenge. Advanced players, I hope you have fun playing this as well, but keep in mind the intended audience!

Screenshots include a lot of spoilers bc I want to give new players an idea of what to expect! Screenshots 2-10 are all part of the any% route, the next 10 are optional parts (100% route and bonus moons), and the final is just a finished main map including a 100% level.

Not too bad of a hack, it's a bit hard on the eyes at times and has some weird or questionable setups that can be cheesed, but overall a good beginner kaizo hack for a good starting challenge.

2/5.

I had a lot of fun with this one, there is a decent amount of shell jumps for a beginner hack, but the setups are generally forgiving with checkpoints/start being close by.

It is very good I recommend it to those who are just starting out in kaiso #smrpg{y}

Good job.

Delivers on the EZ part while being fun. Wish I had experienced it earlier in my kaizo journey. An easy recommendation to whoever wants to start on kaizo; good job, blueribbonhighlife!

I'm at level 40 in Learn to Kaizo for this hack and it was accessible to me at that time. Thanks for the great hack!

This hack was a treat to play, and I do agree with Blue when they say it’s intended to play after Learn 2 Kaizo. I have played though and completed a majority of the hacks players in the community would label as beginner or starter hacks. I feel that this was the easiest to complete of those hacks, and also did the best job of utilizing skills you specifically learn in Learn 2 Kaizo.

The sections are short, which is great for especially newer players to build confidence with their ability to play through a hack. There are also sections where more advanced players can utilize their advanced skills to preform speed strats, which are more difficult to preform, but are rewarded by quicker completion times, and even more fun with the game.

I especially enjoyed the challenge moon rooms near the end, as they provided more experienced players with a challenge that’s not required even in a standard 15 exit run of the game. The final castle was also very enjoyable with the different elemental themes in each room.

I’m impressed with EZ Kaizo overall as Blue’s first hack, and am proud that they have the 1st hack to be categorized as a Beginner Kaizo. I highly recommend it, especially to those players new to the community that want to get into Kaizo!

Each level is fun to play, even when I'm not getting the tricks right away. It does annoy me when I spend too much time on a trick, but not to the point where I am getting angry with it. I would recommend it as a hack to get your feet wet in

It actually is EZ! Fun little puzzles that make the player feel smart and short sections with simple kaizo tricks that look and feel surprisingly awesome for how easy they are to pull off. I liked it a lot. I'm still a relatively beginner kaizo player and I did the 100% route in one sitting which says something about how accessible it is.

As someone who is moreso on the side of Beginner (this was my 8th hack completed), I found the hack overall to be fairly easy, if you have knowledge of some of the basics, like regrabs and what Mario can spin off of, and for beginners like me it can be a bit of a learning experience.

As they put it, the Any% is probably aligned with QW2 any%, with the other challenges ramping up the difficulty. I share some agreement with BOB and Kimota that a few setups I found a bit rough around the edges as a beginner, but not so much as to detract from the hack's overall playability.

Thank you, Blueribbon, for the very enjoyable, and on that last section, an adrenaline filled, experience, and I'm looking forward to your next creation!

Enjoyed this playthrough a lot. It offers good chances to new players (and old people like me) to think about setups, train a bit some skills. I loved the secret challenges, and cannot recommend this more. A fun vanilla hack, made by a great person and I hope to see more of Blue's projects in the future!

This is a good hack for the begginers on kaizo hacks. In fact this hack you can play after the learn 2 kaizo, but i recomend play this hack and baby kaizo "at the same time". In general this is good to pratice the shell and fly techniques that lacks on baby kaizo.

Great hack for building some confidence before dipping into kazio for the first time.

Thanks for the thoughtful critique! I agree that QW and Baby Kaizo ultimately do a better job setting up players for more difficult hacks; this one is primarily intended to be played before those to help a player gain confidence in performing kaizo style tricks in a full level environment. Anyways, thanks for your thoughts and for playing!

Didn't care for this hack, unfortunately. I found the setups unintuitive, sort of baggy, and not very like actual kaizo. Take for example the switch palace where there's a chuck gate, but you can kill the chuck, and there's basically no obstacles. That's not how kaizo plays. There was also a fair amount of blindness and "how was I supposed to know" parts. The hack is still "ez" as advertised, but not like Quickie World or Baby Kaizo in that, for the most part, it doesn't prepare the player for hacks of higher difficulty. Still hope the creator puts out future hacks, as they tend to get better with more experience.

Idk what all the comments under this hack are on about. Maybe they haven't played the same game as I have. All I saw here were blatant vanilla edits, packed with clunky, blind and soulless setups, horrifying palettes and cutoffs. The lvls are very weirdly structured, they're often just a chain of tricks with no thoughts whatsoever put behind them. This felt like playing a random early 2010s kaizo hack made by a 10 years old who was inspired by a savescummed playthrough of kaizo 1 he saw on yt done by another 10 year old! this is just a big capharnaüm overall and I can't process the fact that it got accepted at the speed at of light whereas hacks made by actual good creators get ignored and stay in the moderation queue forever or get rejected. Double standards at it's finest.

Fantastic hack for beginner kaizo players. Really enjoyed the creativity and slow ramping of the difficulty. The educational blurbs were great. Highly recommend.

Definetly recommend it for beginners, some harder item stuff here and there but nothing your average kaizo aspirant can't grind. Awesome!

Great hack from a great person! Would love to see beginners taking this on on their way to amazing kaizo journeys. Absolutely wonderful stepping stone with a satisfying difficult to curve and some fun learnable sections.
