I think it makes more sense to not display it when the player's in a state where their jumps refresh (grounded, climb a vine, underwater), I added an option to display jump counter only when airborn.

Even better than my original, now the player is informed on how many jumps being used or how many air jumps left.

I was thinking having an option to only show the number if the player use at least 1 airjump for a minimalistic display.
