Yeah, thanks brickblock. I found out about that "feature" after I asked that question.

    c8c16c16 c8c16c16 c8c16c16 c8c16c16

If I do the optimization it happens every beat:

    c8c16c16 c8c16c16 c8c16c16 c8c16c16

I actually like the first way better, which is why I left it that way, but I have no idea why it happens - any ideas?

    I know I'm late, but
Percussion instruments from @21~@29 are set up weirdly - the very first note that's right after the instrument call plays a fixed pitch, then the intended pitch plays in the following notes, unless you place the instrument call next to them again (insert size is not affected in these particular instruments when called again, by the way). If you just want the percussion instrument to play a different pitch that's not the fixed pitch, set it as a custom instrument in #instruments.
That must be the reason why the first note plays the pitch like that.

I love the moment when the song picks up.

Hey bebn legg. I can do the optimization/channel swap - is there a way to do that after something has been approved with it going back into the waiting files section?

I feel like the mixing could be fine-tuned for the @8 and @5 (and perhaps the ADSR on the latter), though that's just my own personal nitpick; this is overall a very pretty piece, especially when it picks up before the end! You managed to make @9 sound full, which is no easy task. Overall very lovely!

You should consider swapping channels #6 and #7 for the @5 section at the end though, as #7 cuts out more due to the jump sound effect, but it contains a very significant portion of the song on it.

(Also, optimization note, you should condense [c8c16c16 c8c16c16 c8c16c16 c8c16c16] into [c8c16c16]4, and likewise with [r8c8r8c8r8c8r8c8]15)

Hey ya'll, glad you liked it. I appreciate the kind words, and I enjoyed hearing your stuff too. KevinM, congrats on the award - well deserved, I thought.

Criminally underrated by the contest. This is a real jam, nice work.

One of my favorite entries of this past 72hoSPC, I think the votes didn't do it much justice but good job.
