Description: | HYPERION is a chocolate hack featuring expanded graphics, extra and modified sprites, fresh palettes, and a custom soundtrack. This game focuses on platforming rather than trick-heavy setups, so you will find limited item abuse or shell techniques here (there is a light sprinkling of kaizo trolls though). The overworld paths are branching with the secret exits and switch palaces being necessary to complete the game, but your movement is sped up and your progress auto saves as you move. (Note: switch palaces do not count towards the exit total.) There are also a handful of secret shout outs and easter eggs throughout the game for exploratory players. HYPERION is my first hack and my labour of love for the past year, I hope you enjoy. DISCLAIMER: there is at least one known compatibility issue with SNES Classic. ----- Changelog: - 1.0 release version - 1.0.1 fix exit-breaking yellow switch palace pipe - 1.1 quality of life fixes, smoothed out some level readability and flow issues, adjusted a boss - 1.2 ironed out some minor pain points and fixed some unintuitiveness in a few levels |

I'd say the only part of the entire hack I really didn't care for was the first room of the Abyssal Spire, where the homing orbs quite often meant you just had no shot at all. Everything else was great. Excellent work!
5/5 hack
Only criticism is a little jank/spawn depenency on a level or two but those are minor issues. Well done AmperSam!
Overall a solid hack, and I'm definitely looking forward to more from you, AmperSam!
I thought it was a real banger.
The CREDITS.txt has the music listed by level and with links to them here on SMWCentral.

Well this is a new incompatibility I've been made aware of. I don't know what the specific causes are in any of the cases and since SNES Classic players also can't finish the hack I don't know the extent of the incompatibility. Addressing it with an update would likely mean removing ASM or overhauling levels and I likely won't be doing that.
Upon opening the ROM in lunar magic it appears the game crashes at the exact point the custom P Balloon spawns on screen. It must be something in the code that the SNES can’t handle.
I understand the difficulty in having to address the problems and the head aches it would cause so not to worry. I look forward to anything else you may release in the future as this is very solid work.

I will assume you are playing on SNES Classic, as others have found a compatibility issue with that level in that emulator. I can't guarantee there are no other incompatibilities (a forthcoming update adds a disclaimer about SNES Classic).
Yeah I saw Chambo87 run into the same problem on twitch. I was actually using a very old Snes9x emu. I never had any trouble, but I guess it's time for an upgrade. Thanks for the reply dude, and congrats, this is a very high quality hack, keep up the good work .

The beach? It's Super Adventure Island - Beach.
I think I found one bug: The bowling balls sometimes hurt you when you jump on them. My guess is that the hitboxes are designed around having the frame rule patched but this hack doesn't have the frame rule patched, so you clip into them if you're moving too fast.
The frame rule is patched. It's more that the hitbox on these balls is not intuitive to the size of the ball, unfortunately, and less reliable when their speed is increased.
