Length: 27 exit(s)
Type: Kaizo: Intermediate
Description: 22 Levels
5 Secret Exits

100% and Any% plays out differently in difficulty, but mostly because of the final level in 100%

You only need the Blue, Yellow, and Green switch palace to get into Special World.

You will need all 5 secret exits, all 4 switch palaces, and completing Any% to get into the final level

This hack in entirely vanilla besides the RHR patches and a very minimal amount of additional patches. The patches that matters for gameplay is in the Info House. There’s no custom sprites, blocks, or sprite disassemblies in this hack.

You won’t find any kaizo blocks or any gotcha Map16 edits. The only Map16 edits will be explained in the levels where they first show up.

Enjoy and have fun

I don't know why there's not a file extension at the end of the text document. I created it in Notepad++ on my Windows 10 machine

Hack is a lot of fun and with cool ideas ... congratulations on that, but this 1f0 is what killed some levels ... I don't know why 1f0 is used in phases nowadays, and T.Takemoto created a cool hack and fun in an extreme difficulty without using it ... The hack is cool, but the massive 1f0 used in it does not, however, 5 stars for gameplay (if it were for level design it would be 1 to at most 2 stars because of the grotesque 1f0 used).

Hey finally found some time to give your hack a little commentary. It's been a couple weeks since I played it, but I remember ultimately having fun, with some asterisks though.

One thing that seems bad is the name of the hack and the way you presented it. I was thinking based on the name and screenshots that it would be more traditional Kaizo along the lines of Dram World. I was annoyed to see in the very first level, there were blocks I've never seen before that required two textboxes of explanation. Maybe this is all technically "vanilla," but I did feel misled.

Then, as you go on, it becomes clear that this hack heavily focuses on flight mechanics, mostly cape but also some p-balloon. This was fine with me since I love cape, but again, many players who don't like it will feel misled, as none of the screenshots or text description indicate it's even in the game, let alone a massive part of it.

Another thing I found problematic was that the hack takes too long to get to the really good stuff. I'm stubborn so I stuck it out (imo the first few levels were kind of meh; tightrope was pretty frustrating), but if you want more people to play all the way through, start with the banger levels. The rope-on-a-track level for example was excellent and makes sense to put at the beginning.

The last criticism I want to share is that some of the non-cape Kaizo felt unpolished. I remember some shells that I had but didn't need. I remember moments where there was no danger. Like there's a part where you just jump up some clouds with no obstacles. Or hold right through a long runway with baby Yoshi. I also didn't understand why in several instances at the start of a section you force the player to left/right to gain required p-speed. Seems like you should set it up so they get it automatically, as getting it with left/right is not challenging, just a little tedious.

With all of that said, I want to say that I very much enjoyed the cape and p-balloon stuff. It's creative, and I even learned a few things. The buttsliding stuff is also amazing and hilarious. All in all, even with my criticisms, it's still a good play, and I look forward to your next hack.

Thanks for the explanation. Before asking, I did try to duckfly for a few minutes, but I never got it because I was doing the inputs wrong and concluded there was no such thing as duckfly lol.

I believe I'm supposed to press y before entering the room so that when I enter, I spin kill the koopaling before he can damage me. From there, I don't know.

You need to duckfly with the shell. On my first attempt I did what most people will do, and hit down and B on the same frame; so this is the result of that. You need to hit B then down to get the duckfly. If you hit B but not down quick enough afterwards you'll just do a normal item spinfly
