Someone said below that this hack encourages you to learn the tricks to beat it, and I completely agree with that.
After playing Learn to Kaizo and Super Peggy world, I returned to Super Ryu World and finished it out. I consider this the start of my Kaizo journey.
Overall everything in this game is extremely well done. Visually the levels look fantastic. The difficulty starts off quite easy with fun levels and basic Kaizo tricks. The Ghost Houses tick up the difficulty a bit and are fun to play.
Yoshi Gardens is a fantastic Yoshi level. I think it was Barb? who said its actually surprisingly difficult to make a good Yoshi level, and here Aguni delivers.
Super Sky Factory is the perfect test for budding Kaizo players and another tick up the difficulty meter. Yoshi Gardens and Super Sky Factory are without question my favorite levels in this hack.
The game ends with a tough introduction to sky trees and a precise platforming level.
I feel I can recommend this game to newbies and seasoned veterans alike. The bottom line is it looks great and feels great to play. For those wanting to get their feet wet into the world of Kaizo, this is a great place to start, along with hacks such as A1 World.
Congratulations Aguni, your efforts with this game have successfully introducd a new member of the Kaizo community, well done. 5/5
I really wanted to say that this hack is amazing and you should be proud of it. Thank you for the hard work and I'm moving on to number 2. I really appreciate your work and hope to see more from you.
5/5
Especially the ghost houses, they rock.
Score: 5/5
But I think the first one was pretty good :p
- You can "break" this jump by taking the green shell you can get in the previous room with you
- Your hack still has some graphical issues. This is only 1 example (the lava hides the bullet bill). You know about "Way up!"´s background and there are some others, too. This noteblock is just an other example. If you submit an other update please try to find a way to avoid garbled graphics, priority issues, cutoffs etc. (i know you´ve already fixed some cutoffs in you 1.2 update).
- I know this is a kaizo hack. Nonetheless I recommend to avoid blindjumps like this or this one.
- Some coin guides (especially in the Layer 2 Levels or as a solution for your Blindjump-issue) indicating where I´m save would be nice. too. How shall i know i can stop here or here for example?
"difficulty: Kaizo: Light"
...i have no comment.
- Message Box misspelling: Delete the "," after the "!"
- Message Box misspelling: "Careful" only has 1 "L" at the end
- Complicated Expression: Your text isn´t incorrect, but i´d just say "you might lose the train if you waste time". Sometimes simpler is better
- Glitched graphics: Maybe you want to replace the Super Koopa by an other enemy to avoid this glitchy appearance
- Glitched graphics: I guess removing the noteblock and simply adding an other hole should be fine here
Although this hack has some minor cutoffs, it improved very well compared to the 1.0 version. Good job!
