It was a good time, but I think being blessed with more modern hacks it's a bit rough around the edges..

Still a recommend for newcomers to see how old school vs new school plays.

I just played this hack and I can say with conviction that this hack should be played by all site visitors. I only have one complaint. In the Hark Peak stage, there is a completely stupid shell jump, where the player must hit the correct frame to execute the kick on the hull and bounce off it. The idea was cool, but in my opinion, stupid. However, 5/5 and I highly recommend this hack to everyone.

This was my first hack, I had a lot of fun. Beat it in 2 hours!

Still a good hack, compared to other "beginner" hacks this might straddle the intermediate range.

Difficulty is sorta up-and-down, some levels are easy and you breeze through, then a level with a few hard obstacles might stop you for a while.

Bait and switch did not work for me on bsnes emulator, the second section was completely broken until I switched, and the first section did not work properly (but could be finished) - the switches would not always change the sprite.

Also, final exit count was only 14, based on other playthroughs (juz's) I didn't miss any exit... maybe another emulation issue?

No death counter was shown with any emulator used.

Overall feels a bit older in style but holds up.

3/5

Cute, little fun hack. Bait and switch level was a little janky.

First time playing this hack and I see why it's a classic. Good platforming, smooth, short sections, and a good amount of funny trolls. Recommend for beginners looking for something a bit more challenging.
VolleytheBall Link
Took me almost 20 hours to complete. But had a lot of fun playing it.

I could not put this hack down! It's a lot of fun and the sections are all fairly short. There are a few dickhole kaizo blocks and some spots where you're guaranteed to die on at least the first attempt, but that's to be expected. Everything flows so smoothly, and since everything is short, nothing feels too punishing. Excellent hack.

what a great rom hack! im a begginer and i learned so much playing it!

Really good entry level hack. Enjoyed it thoroughly. Well placed kaizo blocks. <3

Great hack so far! However on Bait & Switch I believe the initial enemy is supposed to be a buzzsaw but it's a mole making progress impossible. I'm using bizhawk, is this an issue for anyone else/is there a fix? Currently stuck.

Just played through this whole hack today. This is a wonderful hack that's just a little bit harder than QW2 but a little more old school. The first couple levels had some setups that felt a little esoteric but the readability in the rest of the hack is on point. 5/5

Honestly a great hack. Been waiting for Hark 2 for what seems like forever. Please respond.

Very fun hack, I really enjoyed going through it and the kaizo blocks were well placed. I'd say the first two levels had a weird difficulty compared to where it is but that might've just been me being bad.

This was my second kaizo hack after Quickie World (and L2K) and it felt like a nice step up in difficulty. Most exits took me ~1 hour, the only real exception being TheKink Below, where I was stuck for several hours at
the Yoshi dismount to shell jump
. Overall I had a lot of fun, and would recommend this to beginners as a good first or second hack.
Aguni_ Link
Very nice but f*ck your kaizo blocks.

For some reason no matter what type of console/emulator I use, there is no death counter. Aside from that minor upset, this is one of the easier kaizo hacks I have played, but definitely the best one too.

Came into this right after Korosu and instantly found it much easier. The first jump of the first level takes a little bit of thinking as it isn't exactly what it seems but aside from that it is a great beginner kaizo hack.

Super easy hack for new players!

As an entry level player, I enjoyed this one. Felt fair and left me wanting more.

ChrisG___ makes fun hacks. Thank You.

I really really liked the hack, nice starting difficulty.
may i ask how the switch magic in the moles and saw level was made? i would love to use that on my own! never seen anything like it.
kaitri Link
i have to disagree with all the comments saying its a pretty easy kaizo hack. i think it has a fair part of easy but also hard parts. i'd say the difficulty is 2,5-3 out of 5.

overall a really nice hack. i think i did some small breaks here and there, but besides that its really enjoyable.

final boss is a "sped up" version of vanilla bowser, meh bit boring tbh. took me 3 tries, i died once on every phase besides the last one. a bit of a letdown for the finale.

overall 4/5 recommended!

A clean and polished hack. A great entry level kaizo for newer players!
Valdio Link
Fair, fun, and just the right ammount of challenging. Levels flow really well, look sharp, and sound amazing. Wasn't a big fan of the asm anticheese and the bait & switch level, but that's a very minor nitpick. 5/5
 Linkdeadx2 Link
A good hack for those wanting to get into kaizo. Levels are fair length and not too demanding. Some minor breaks spread throughout, but nothing that detracts from the game too badly.

Difficulty: 1/5

Such a great hack Chris!! Congrats!!

This is one of the best hacks I've ever played. The difficulty curve is really nice and the levels are very fun. Definitely 5/5. Thx for another great hack Chris!

Really nice and well made hack. Levels are short and very forgiving. Loved how "innocent" the trolls are. Recommend to every one who want to have a good time playing kaizo, specially for beginners.

The only thing im not too found of is the invisible wall that kills the throw block on "Bait and Switch". Ill always say to rafrain from keeping things like this invisible as sometimes it can be a bit confusing/counter-intuitive. But its not really a big deal since the level is pretty short and easy.

Another thing that could be improved is the weird gfx that can appear on level "Death in Heaven" https://imgur.com/pjhG8ie

And of course, ive had some trouble running it on Bsnes (I dont know if its only me or if it affects other people who plays on bsnes core). Snes9x works great tho.

Difficulty: 1/5

*Lol.. typed this like one hour ago but forgot to submit
ChrisG___ Author From older version: Super Hark Bros Link
Yeah Naro that's super weird, it works beautifully on console, I did all my testing on an SFC. Really strange!

I removed part of your cheese.. you can still bring Yoshi out of that level it's just way harder now :D
NaroGugul From older version: Super Hark Bros Link
Ive tested and still doesnt work on Bizhawk 2.2.1/Bsnes v87.
But works on Snes9x.
Im not sure why this happens as Bsnes is often regarded as a very precise emulator. Im curious about how it plays on a real hardware.
* You monster removed my cheese =(
ChrisG___ Author From older version: Super Hark Bros Link
Naro, I have no idea why or how that happened - I've just tested it again and re-applied that ASM and uploaded a new version, could you try again? :/
NaroGugul From older version: Super Hark Bros Link
so ive played and replayed multiple times and couldnt make the level "bait and switch" to work. The on/off switches do absolutely nothing.
Ive tested it on both versions (with and without death counter).
Im using Bizhawk with Bsnes core at the moment.
Can anyone confirm if the level is broken? or its just on my end?!
or maybe im missing something?!
NaroGugul From older version: Super Hark Bros Link
I dont cheese games very often, but this one was too obvious to not do
Arobam From older version: Super Hark Bros Link
Pretty nice hack, I really enjoyed the playthrough. The levels are clear and good designed. The color pallettes also well chosen. We definitely need more hacks like this, especially for beginners this hack is more friendly. There are not much problems but at least I can mention some points I noticed:

-The mole/saw is moving to the right after the first jump (i dunno why) and sometimes it moves the intended way to the left.
-In "the hungry earth" the koopa after the midway sometimes kills itself (the one with the blue shell if i remember)
-The first face of the bowser fight should get some changes with asm because with the time you cant reach him anymore (hes getting higher after every throwing phase i guess)

5/5 for this Work!

A Nice choice of vanilla-ish (kind of) musics, cool and hard tricks, and overall, a great hack. Great job, as always, Chris!
