Lives to Health Points

SMW Patches → Lives to Health Points

Submission Details

Tool: Asar
Requires Free Space: Yes
Bug Fix: No

Description: This one replaces the lives system by a health system. That means, you can only die by hurting if you've got no health regardless on your powerup or you mount Yoshi or not and gathering health with this patch is the same as gathering lives in the original game.

I mean it works but, its a little bit misleading. It says lives to health points, and even in the readme it says hp is refilled just like getting extra lives, but in game, 1up mushrooms and moons have no effect on the hp at all
The ExGFX file mentioned in the readme is also absent from the download

Is there a way to make Mario always big with this patch (since being big or small has no difference)?

Is it possible to adjust this patch so that powerdown never happens? Or so that it only happens once you get down to 1 HP?
Thanks! Awesome hack!

Works as intented. It's a rather interesting request in my opinion. It add some challenge and makes lives more relevant.

A block had a small macro issue, but I got it fixed.

It serves my needs perfectly. Excellent job! I can't wait to fully utilize it.

Hey, I was thinking if you could add a "record" effect, where when adding or subtracting by x > 1, the counter displayed "slowly" increments by 1 per certain number of frames to show an animation. Mine uses a seperate RAM (display only) that every 4th frame, the counter updates by 1 until it equals to mario's real HP.

Actually, nevermind, I have idea, I post that to the library.
