Being tailor-made for SMW makes it more efficient for importing graphics from other programs and editing as you don't need to make adjustments upon opening it like you would with YY-CHR, and it comes with a "nearest colour in palette" option which is really helpful, but I have trouble using it for that purpose as it constantly freezes when using the copy-paste option. I don't know if it's just me, but the program freezes quite often

The .exe file is detected as malicious program by some antiviruses like Kaspersky (proof here)

Is it in the books to fix the main problem of this software, which is that it "softlocks" in 99% of the time when you pick a difference palette? Then you can't copy/paste anything or even select different tiles. Only thing you can do is close and re-open

it fails to run on my pc, it is windows 10 idk what the problem is

great program, but when you paste it freezes/takes a ungodly long time to paste

Can anybody update this so that the paste fuction doesn't freeze the program?

Still my favorite graphic tool to this day.
There is one thing I never used (well, once), because I don't know how to use it: the Rectangle(Pattern).
Is it always the same pattern, or can I select a pattern to redo? If the later, how?

I wasn't able to use the paste function at all when running the .exe file in Windows 8.1, but I got it to work by running the .jar file instead, so putting this here for others who may have this problem. EDIT: Nevermind, it sometimes works and sometimes freezes the whole tile selector (but not the rest of the window). Not sure what's up with that. :/

Great editor apart from that, would be nice if it remembered the last palette used so I don't have to import it again on every start-up.

EDIT 2: After some more experimenting, it seems it's the copying that is broken (and trying to paste "nothing" freezes that part of the program), but only if the selected palette number is higher than 7. It's an oddly specific bug, and I've been able to work around it by changing the palette before copying a tile.

Pasting freezes up the editor visually but everything still works. After pasting, save the file then open it again. Everything loads as normally. Still sucks though.

Great tool, makes things a lot easier.

make it .smc compatible

I can confirm, I got it to work on my mac. Now I don't have to draw a line in YY-CHR so I don't accidentally draw over the limit #smrpg{:D}

While this tool was intended for use on Windows, it's worth noting that it is Java based and works fine on other platforms. It works on Linux when simply running that jar directly as `java -jar "Graphics Editor.jar"`.

could you point me in the right direction in how to make a tool like this? I've been practicing programming but haven't a clue where to start with image ripping

Nice.
MagicalKoopa Link
Yes, you NEED JAVA. It won't launch without it.
Overall, godd job! This was really helpful!
Yatorius Link
Yes it is

I hate how you can't copy and paste between multiple instances of the program.

The only issue I've had with this tool is after around 15 to 45 minutes of using it, the program glitches out and stops working for me so I have to restart it. Can get annoying after awhile but other then that, It's a nice tool.

Dan: Oh ok, I had kind of understood that, but I had never succeeded! Now that you confirmed I retried and did it, no problem! Thanks!
Really a neat program. And I confirm: JAVA IS NEEDED, or it won't launch.

Does anyone know how to open this program?

Change the first color at the start of each palette row, that black color is always used for transparency.
Romano338 Link
I love this tool, so simple to use. One thing I never figured out though: how to change the transparency color? It's always black, which isn't really the best when you have black stuff to draw

Mod's note:
-When pressing the "reload", "new" or "open" buttons after changing something in the image, the editor should bring up a confirmation dialog, informing you that unsaved changes will be lost and whether you really want to proceed.
-It would be cool if the pixel selection tool supported copy & paste, just like the tile selection tool. I find it rather unpractical and unintuitive otherwise. What if you want to copy just a selection of pixels from one tile to another tile, for example?
-Source code would definitely be nice!

Those minor suggestions aside, definitely a nice tool. I think I even consider it more intuitive and easy to use than YY-CHR.

Is there any chance of you creating a readme for this or something? I was trying to use it earlier to edit a photo I had converted to 4bpp... The mapping for the tiles was all wrong and I was trying to reorganize them, but the stamp tool doesn't seem to work as I expected? It will let me select a group of tiles and move them, but if I try to use it when viewing the right side of the bpp file, my selection is offset horizontally by a significant amount :/ And I can only select-and-move tiles once. If I try again it just stamps what I selected the first time over my newly selected area... Am I doing something wrong, or is this a bug?

I would like if this tool was updated such that there was an option to import palettes for use in viewing graphics within this tool as a shared palette, instead of only being able to import level palettes.

:O OMG I LIKE IT AND WORK (For me)
anonimzwx From older version: Graphic Editor Link
mmm it should allows to use the key + or - like on yy-chr, because i can't rip graphics with this, also it should have an option to load a palette from a save state like yy-chr and it should show me the grid on the right to have more accuracy.

@MarioFanGamer now that you said...
havent seen that option before will use it from now on thanks
