A broken mess. This hack shows lack of respect for gaming and everything. It's as if the creator was apathetic about the whole thing. Hopefully this is the last one, because thank god if it is.

Like I said to Lightvayne, placing this hack in the recycle bin, where hacks like this and people like you belong.

This update contains just a few small edits of the previous version. Nothing else, really. Since the previous version was accepted, obviously this one is going to replace the old one.

I've played till world 3 so far. It's pretty fun, I love the music and ideas but I encountered a very major bug after beating the third castle. The music crashed during the cutscene, causing my ROM to freeze. I have no idea what would be the cause (emulator meybe? I used ZMZ for this). I'll try to check it once more on another emulator, but it's something that bothers me.

So far some issues:

- Some W1 levels have sprite memory issues. Boomerangs turn invisible, water platforms are sometimes cut off.

I don't know if it's an issue, but it confuses me: I can't pass through that invisible wall in 'Special A'. Maybe I missed something, dunno.

So far it's a good and enjoyable hack. It'd be great to take a look on the bug I posted above. I might report it to Cypher later or check on other emulators.

EDIT: Strangely enough, it worked when I switched to Snes9X for a while.

This hack is a memorable one! What makes this hack sparkle most is the design, which has neat gimmicks and well development in most of the levels. Aesthetics were a bit disappointing at times (ffs Bowser's palette in the FINALE level), but it's not too bad overall.

This is really worth accepting, although I'm addressing some issues I found you should consider fixing:

- In "Desert Mounds" there is a pipe exit that leads you to the next level. Nothing breaks luckily, you can still complete the level.
- As many addressed, some levels suffer from sprite tile limits errors, making some of them invisible, and thus, they can unfairly hit you.
- In "Tale of the 2 Suns", the midway point doesn't work. Even if you get it, if you die you have to restart the level all over again.
- "SPECIAL B" has a pipe exit that makes you die unfairly. Same could be said for Wendy Koopa's arena. I know this was meant to be like that, but there's a fine line between being tricky and being unfair.
- Unless I missed something, this one jump here is impossible to perform.

A really good hack overall, 4/5.
I got so upset after managing to open the 100% folder :<

Okay, looks like it's my time to give my review on cyphermur9t's latest ROM hack, Mario Gives Up 3.

Graphics
--------
Very nice. The graphics in this game are really good. The BGs and FGs mix really well together. The Ninja Mario costume is also a plus. While I would have liked the original SMW Mario in this hack, the ninja costume does have it's charm, and works really well. The only nitpick I have is the font GFX. The Super Mario World font doesn't look too good in my opinion. Other then that, great work.

9/10

Music
-----
I love it, I love it, I LOVE IT. Awesome job here, cypher. The music in the levels fit well with levels. Not only that, but music alone is really good, too. My favorite being the "Battle Fantasy 3- Wings" song.

10/10

OW
--
Great OW. It has a nice variety to it, and looks very good overall. However, I think the OW in MGU2 was better. I honestly don't know why, the OW in MGU2 just looked better in the design. Also, unlike MGU2, the OW isn't that non-linear. The only things that are non-linear is the secret exit from world 1 that leads to world 6, star road, and the backtracking to some levels with secret exits that require a switch palace that you didn't press yet.

8.5/10

Bosses
------
Oh God. Easily the worst part of the game. The bosses in the game are just the SMW bosses, just harder. The reason why I'm so dissapointed by these bosses, is because both MGU and MGU2 had custom bosses in them. Yes, this hack does have custom bosses. But there are only 4 in the whole game. It would be better if you had custom bosses for each castle and fortress.

4.5/10

Level Design/Variety
--------------------
The level design is great, no doubt about it. Nice variety through
each level. The first two worlds were lacking, though. I understand that cypher wanted an easier diffcuilty in this game. But the levels seem underwheling as a whole. The world levels 3-9 are great, though. Nice quality, a good sense of variety to keep you on your toes, and you never know what you're going to face next. It even refrences other video games, such as Sonic the Hedgehog, and a level based off of Five Nights at Freddys.

9/10

Summary
-------
Overall, this is a good, well balanced hack. The level design is great with a nice variety, (though a bit underwheling in the first 2 worlds), great graphics, and amazing soundtrack. This is a great ROM hack that anyone should play. The only real gripe I have with this hack are the bosses. They're dissapointing. Other then that, nice hack. As cypher's last hack, this hack is a great hack, and a great addition to the Mario Gives Up series.

I'll give this hack an 8.5/10. Great game, but lacking in some areas.

(P.S, You may have noticed that I didn't cover the plot. The reason for that, is because the plot isn't really mentioned a lot. So it didn't really matter. Also, my second review. So don't judge too much, kay?)

I believe Cypher rushed a bit with this game. Weird stuff going on, like platforms dissappearing and a pipe that has the exit set to the next level's segment.

Well, all I can say is: hire beta testers (at least one or two), to check stuff that might've been missing.
I'm enjoying the game so far, but still, these things happening...oh well.

Ohh, it hurts me. It hurts me very bad.

I was super hype for a new hack to play, after this section being somewhat dead for the last few months (with C3 and Mario Maker happening shortly one after the other).

This hack is promising - still is. I loved the tone shift between MGU2's entire game and this one's first few levels. And the very first few are really fun, there's a lot of improvements I can see that made those levels better and more interesting compared to some of your older works.

It's around the middle of World 1 that the crippling issue shows its mug...

Inconsistancies. Jank. Things that have a huge chance of not functionning or going like the player would expect, only for them to find out by dying to it. Maybe a few times if they forget.

The rules of the game become a blurry line, and will even change up on you.

For example the Night Hill stage having grounds of two colors, interchangeably being solid or not solid. There's no surefire way to tell, and sometimes if you guess wrong you could get hit or die.

For example the Boomerang Bro below a rail-guided platform, with not even a pixel going over it. If you ride the platform while it's above the Boomerang Bro, you get hit.

For example, the line-guide being interrupted by a circle, with the platform going on the down half-circle. A saw zips from the other side of the circle - will it go up or down? I expected wrong, and had no time to react to this.

I'll need some time to recover. I really want to enjoy this hack, I want to try it again later. But these bad issues coming up in the first world really hurt me.
