Encording to Dinomar (the creator of the graphics) it is inspired by that game, it was actually a hand drawn tileset called "What the heck?" by Dinomar.

Anyways I'm starting to have some trouble with choosing music for the Zinger Chase seen, Would ether "Cave Story Last Battle" be one or should I use the original chasing seen from "Donkey Kong Country 2 - Rambi Rumble" be good?

There's a Zinger chase scene? Got pictures of that? Also, use Rambi Rumble, especially if that large boss Zinger from Donkey Kong Country 2 is involved, it seems like it'd fit the mood perfectly.

As for Mario's Nightmare Quest? Well, it's currently on Fusion Gameworks, ROM Hacking.net or the GCN at the moment.
I prefer Rambi Rumble, since it fits the chase very well.

What a minu... who said I was using King Zi... You know what, good idea #w{=P} How ever I need a coder for that to be polled off.

As mentioned, If anyone would like to code King Zing for me (It'll only go left/right and have the speed of Mario in a Latiku Cloud) then you can ether PM me or message me here.

I'm just wondering about something, I have a few more questions before I continue on:
1) Should I start the sequel right now?
2) Should I introduce the mushroom powerup in the middle of world 2 or in the beginning of world 3?
3) Do you know of any boss coder's that take requests (just for curiosity).
4) Who should be the World 2 boss? I'm thinking of ether King Zing or Queen Pokey, if you have any other opinions or agree with one of the 2 I mentioned, post here.
5) How do I prevent losing this hack like the rest I've lost already with out wasting internet space (Yes, Dropbox does that, silly thing)?

2)I suggest you for the mushroom to use in the second world.
After a LONG time of not working on this hack, I have finally continued this hack. The reason why I didn't continue this for 6 months is because one, I was lazy, two, I didn't have the time.

What's going to be different for now on? I'm going to show progress every Wednesday (Unless I'm too busy, 2012 doomsday exists or I'm working on something else).

You probably want some screenshots and differences ever since I didn't use this thread, right? I've made some changes to the levels, so I'll start with those.

Oh? Want a new level now? I'm skipping Hornet Haunt for now and starting Klemland Kore which is the next level after HH. Here you go, screenies:




What to ignore here:
-Obvious cutoff
-The Fire Bros not being redrawn
-Glitched 'platform peaces' are the fire ball graphics.

What do you guys think? The images may seem confusing but some of the Thwimps go just left, some of them just go up & down and some go left and right.

Yay, I'm glad you decided to start working on this hack again. As for the recent level, it's looking pretty nice (Though can probably use more decoration.) I think the background clashes just a little bit with the foreground though but not too much.

Looking forward to seeing more of this.

I like the Kremland Kore level, but I really have to say the evil face effect looks amateurish and poorly drawn. It just seems like you drew it in Paint in about ten minutes then ripped the result, and it clashes with the other gfx.
