I think it would better slower. It sounds a little hyper when fast, and the beginning cutscene is supposed to be relaxed.

Speaking of which, why don't we have different cutscene music for moods, instead of just one song for each cutscene? I think it would sound better that way.

Send it to Q-Bee. I don't actually have any leadership duties (other than the sublevel chart).

You know, if the main members of this hack were a band, Q-Bee would be the determined frontman/guitarist, Buried Alive would be that quirky keyboardist with all of the ideas and I would be the bassist that just hangs around and gives criticism.
I have an idea for the boss of Heaven Valley and Hell valley .The boss of Heaven Valley could be LLEH About LLEH is Hell spelled backwards.He is the king of heaven valley and he hates
the Evil sprite.He is a little kid (but he is really smart)and He have the power to control the universe with his mind.He is not a bad guy but Lleh want to test out Wario's skills to see if he is ready to go to Hell valley
and the sprite's Lair.The boss of Hell valley could be Nevaeh which is
Heaven spelled backwards.She is Lleh's sister.She is a lot older than
Lleh and a she like the Evil sprites.


I don't really have that many ideas for Nevaeh.

Yeah. I was planning an update for the list further later, when we get to the cutscenes design phase. They'll stay unavailable, at least for now. We depend on the definitive cutscenes to create something based on them. But we'll have them.

Actually a sweet idea that I'd love if we had someone *coughMetalJocough* to code their boss versions, since those would suck as Noob variations. Anyway, those brothers as characters can give the hack a pretty neat touch.

Lleh could be more like a "Hey, I can't let you go to Hell Valley. It's dangerous!" instead of a skill tester. I think this way it would be cooler. Just an opinion.

Speaking of bosses:

I've just noticed that we have a Castle level (SMW King 2000's) and a Fortress level (Metal's) being made. For that I think we need to discuss about the bosses.

Nothing was defined for the W1 Castle, but for the Honey Fortress we have agreed on a Bee Porcu Puffer. Knowing that Metal is a great coder, this will make things a bit easier for me (or not). I don't mean him to code the Puffer boss - I can do that, a Noob Boss variation - but I want to know from him if it's possible for me to request something related to the Puffer's spawned sprites. If he agrees, I'll enter on more detail later.

Finished my Heaven and Hell Valleys.



Now it's time to claim level 108. I'll make something based on the Grassland tileset mixed with the Cloud one, and the level will be mostly vertical. I'll see if I can make a good use of the wall-run triangles, too. The main enemies will be Bullet Bills.

I want multi-directional spawning stings for the Puffer. Here goes (example images included):

Since I know no way to the Noob Boss sprite to spawn more than one sprite at the same time, and at multiple directions, there could be another sprite that did this job.

It'd be like this:





As you can see, you need to code two sprites. The Invisible Spawner and the Paralysing Sting.

Two 16x16 GFX slots and 4 animation frames for the sting. I still need to draw those and the Puffer, though...

Some song I wrote for the game.

I originally wrote it for the "Spirits' World" OW, but then I remembered that the Spirit is the villain, and so it might be the final world.
So now I have a song that is just sitting there, and I have no idea what it could be used for.

Any suggestions, or should I just scrap/release it? It's quite short.

But hey, no need to throw it away. There are plenty of music slots open with various different themes. I'm going to hear it after work, and give an opinion tomorrow. Maybe after that you can send me the TXT if you wish, and if it's the case and you don't mind, I could extend your song so it would fit a level instead of a map.

EDIT: Or you could extend the song on your own right now to fit on somewhere else.

Are there walls/floor/ceiling in the boss are ? When there are should I make the sting disappear in a puff of smoke when it touches it ?

The stings should pass through everything, but they can disappear in puff of smoke if/when they touch Wario.

Frame 1: Tile 1, Normal
Frame 2: Tile 2, Normal
Frame 3: Tile 1, XY-flipped
Frame 4: Tile 2, XY-flipped

Just like the SMW Hammer.

Whoa Q-Bee, the sky bg is very cool °_° I myself am not good at making backgrounds, I usually just add fake hdma to vanilla bgs xD
Oh I forgot to give feedback to the BG. It's super awesome. I love how you've used the underwater BG stuff for mountains. <3
I'm really impressed. And I also forgot to mention that it's random if the stings are diagonal or straight ^^
And if there's any bug please contact me and I'll try to fix it.
