Hurricane!!!!!

So for those who are unaware, there is a hurricane on the east coast of the US, which is where I live, and this is the first hurricane I have been in.
So have you ever been in a hurricane? If so, when/where?

Last year, right here.

Yeah, I'm talking about the huge freak snowstorm that happened last year. That was a hurricane. So unless I'm mistaken, this would be your second hurricane. And that isn't even counting all of those other hurricanes that we catch the tail end of.

But yeah, hurricanes.
How long have you lived on the east coast? I've been on the east coast my entire life (27 years) and there's been numerous hurricanes. As of now I still have power

I am only 15, there have been remnants of hurricanes that hit me (I live in New York not southern places mind you).

I live in the midwest, so I've never actually experienced a hurricane. It's possible that Cedar Rapids was hit by remnants of a hurricane before though. We once had a rainstorm that could've been from a remnant of Hurricane Ike in 2008.

The worst disaster my city has ever faced was flooding. I live in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and that city was absolutely scarred by flooding in 2008. While it's not a hurricane, that's the closest thing to one that I've experienced, and my neighborhood wasn't even hit.

We had a pretty damn powerful storm last night in my area. The wind was so strong, a tree in my backyard split in half and hit the fence.

Luckily no one was hurt, and aside from a few short blackouts, we still had power throughout.

That storm was probably part of "Sandy" or "Hurricane Sandy" if you will. It hit the entire east coast pretty much...

I heard yesterday that the hurricane turned into
1) (either one of or the) most powerful hurricane in recorded history
and
2) the only hurricane in recorded history that'll turn into a blizzard. (the cold temp. and the hurricane mixing)

1)It was one of the most expensive since there were so many canceled flights and there was a lot of damage related to flooding on the coast, not powerful. It was only a category 1.
2)A few have turned into blizzards I believe.

idk man that flooding made for a pretty cool pool party last night
I heard somewhere that Sandy was a much worse storm than last year's Hurricane Irene. I don't really know the extent of the damage that Irene caused, but I knew it was bad.

I think that if the levees hadn't broke in New Orleans, then Sandy would've been worse than Katrina. We already know that Sandy broke a record that Katrina set 7 years ago; Largest Tropical Cyclone in the Atlantic.

I live too far for hurricanes to affect me, and i'm kinda glad.
