[Project] Super Mario World Tool Kit (GUI)

Super Mario World Tool Kit

This is my project. SMWTK is a GUI tool that includes mulpiple tools.
In the first release, there will be mainly tilemap editors.

Included tools:
- Stripe image editor (layer 3).
- Status bar editor.
- Mario start, Luigi Start, Time up, Game over and Bonus game editor.
- Maybe other tilemap editors...

These will be in the first release.

Future features:
- Sprite Tool launcher (with an easy and quick interface).
- Addmusic laucnher (same, with a MML editor).

Other informations:
- Don't need .NET frameworks.
- Graphics loaded directly from the ROM (no need to exctrat).

If you're interested, tell me which features should be included.
Another idea for the name ? Tell me also.

Tweaker already has its own (user-friendlly) GUI, don't need to create a new one.
- An easy GFX editor (where the tiles would be repositioned for a better view)[...]

I guess the SNESTile do that too.
Thanks for replying,
Yes, I already think it's not a good idea to include Tweaker. I don't know why I listed it. ;)

I think I didn't well express myself... :/
In my tool, we won't see the full GFX page, but only a group of blocks. It's pretty hard for me to explain that in English... :P
Here is a preview of what I'm thinking:

I think it's an easy way to edit some GFX. ;)

Did you ask all the creators of the tools you're going to include?
I'm pretty sure some of them have licenses that tell you not to just redistribute it in a "pack" like that, even if it's a good one.
Your layout has been removed.
I won't just redistribute the tools, the users will have to download them themselves. My software will just launch the tools (but not visibly) and then get the output text to display. ;)
I don't think I need a permission from the creators.

Anyway, I think I'll begin to make the sprite tilemap editor feature for the first release.

#1: A Mario and Cape Frame DMA Editor,
#2: Player ExGraphics (Changes ExGFX per ability),
#3: A Mario Frame ASM Editor
#4: Add Abilities
#5: A Better Status Bar editor (Status Effect does not work very good sometimes!),
#6: Toggle Header
#7: MSU1 Music Support

These are really awesome add-ons that can be used, Especially most of them are required to make a better-than-default Raccoon Mario just like in SMB3 instead of using Cape Mario's DMA graphics,

I am saying that using Cape mario for SMB3 Raccoon mario seems off-looking, Numbers 1-4 of the above are really fixes to this problem
That tool includes a sprite maker?
A better layer 3 editing tool would be nice for something like this. Terrastripe is good, but one which lets you load ExGFX files as well would be a godsend.

Also, integrate Addmusic K inside this pack. It's supposedly already got a GUI, but said GUI never worked on my computer and the program itself seems simple enough that making a shell for it would be dead easy.

As for Mario's Nightmare Quest? Well, it's currently on Fusion Gameworks, ROM Hacking.net or the GCN at the moment.

OH GOD YES! Terra's Stripe isn't a great program (I was in the IRC and the argument happened when I mentioned it). It be great if you remade it to like "Super Terra's Stripe" or something.

Terra Stripe, not Terra's Stripe

Anyway, it'd be nice if it could be redone without requiring the .NET framework.

No love for Mono? Mono works really nice as long as you're not fracking with Windows stuff.
layouts suck
Okay, I read all your posts, and I decided this tool will include :
- A stripe image (layer 3) editor.

I'll try to make that possible.

I'm going to see about that. I'm not sure I'm able to make that.

If anyone has an idea for the tool name...

NOTE: this tool will loads the graphics directly from the ROM.

You're making pretty big promises for a newbie, I hope you turn out to be a p4plus2 and can actually keep those as well!

That's precisely what I was thinking. I'm excited at the prospect of such a multi-use tool, that could even be considered something of an extremely powerful SDK for Mario hacks if you will. That is, alongside LM.

At the same time, I also doubt that what we get will be as full featured as promised, and may never see the light of day at all. But, I am still interested to see what happens.

At the same time, we HAVE seen some really interesting programs made lately by the simplest of works. Anyone remember that 'SMW Tweak Customizer' program somebody made with Game Maker? Not that recent I guess, but SO useful, and very interesting that a program like Game Maker has the ability to properly tweak a ROM image.
A name... How about SMWKit (Super Mario World Kit)?

Not bad. Or maybe SMW Toolkit ?

Yep, I was thinking that... Let's even call it SMWTK for short!
