The Showoff Thread

So this is basically the screenshot & video thread for this forum. The reason it's not directly called that is because the name is cliche and I want the forms and anything relation the expansion to the site to feel fresh and unique.

Lets get this thread started shall we?

A little thing I started a few days ago, it's not really for anything in particular.
My turn.

Practicing some vertex shading on this beach that I've designed. Also, yes, the waterfall does scroll, and so does the custom waterbox I made.
I don't know how you can get widescreen in SM64 but I love that image so much that I want more :3 The only con is the red and white texture of the hut in the background.

(when did this forum exist?)
I wonder what a HFD opcode would do in ASM...
I think it is meant to be a tent.
Nice to see that SM64 is FINALLY getting its own section!

Wow, that looks fantastic! I also would like to know how you got an N64 running widescreen (or did you edit the photo?). Can't wait to see the finished level!
Eh, sure. Why not? Kaizo hacking doesn't seem too ha-aaaaaaand I broke the ROM.
Jabo's Direct 1.7 and above have an option for "Override Aspect" under ROM settings, and you can set the aspect ratio under normal settings. It can be a bit buggy sometimes, as certain parts of the game are coded for 4:3 ratio (Pause screen is square, menu is square, etc.) You also have to have PJ64 1.7 for some reason to be able to use Jabo's Direct 1.7
I'm working on giving Mario some class.

I still need to do a lot of repositioning and other fixes... Then I'll start shading the imported body parts.
cpuHacka101: Trying to make Mariomuch more classy I see? Will the mustache remain the same?
PowerStrike: Whenever I feel like finishing it, I'll probably make the mustache 3D.

Also, I was able to convert a display list from Banjo-Kazooie, which is run in F3DEX, to work with SM64, which is run with F3D. The display list was of the honeycomb. Here's an image of it:

It even shines like in Banjo-Kazooie.
I made a preview of the island, you can see it here.

The vertex colouring took me a long time to do manually.
I think I'm going to still work on my full hack, "SM64 Corruption"

Here's a little Sky level I'm working on right now. The model isn't done yet, but it's looking pretty good so far! Hope you like it #ab{:)}

The first level I've ever made, mostly complete. SS is from sketchup, so there's no trees or water etc.

Edit: Completely finished now.

Damn that's a good first, I hope you can get that into the game OK. I just love how expansive your level looks as well the uneven terrain.

Welcome to the forums #ab{:)}
Yeah, I've had a lot of problems, but I think I've got everything working properly now, on the level importing side of things. Toad's Tool on the other hand... I just can't figure out how to use that thing. It's the most unintuitive program I've ever used in my life, and I haven't been able to find any decent tutorials at all. =/
It's personally your first time, and I think that's one greatest level model ever made yet. It would've been awesome to add some shadows in some dark spots, otherwise your level will be classy. ^_^
SUPER CRASH TIME YEAH!
Time for me to showoff.

An ice volcano world. Gives you the "chill" feeling.

An icy slide level, commonly located in the sky. Had to give a nostalgic taste of some SNES Mario game textures to it.

I managed to make myself a 3D tree in SM64. I did this by giving my tree model no collision and making the normal tree invisible through TT64. I then placed the invisible tree behavior where my tree model is. The size and position have to be perfect, otherwise Mario will look off when he climbs the tree. It's a cheap method, but works nonetheless #w{=P}

Very nice Flame, I planned on doing this for a very long time, never got around to putting it in a universal ram bank.
Well, this is what I've been working on:

I had posted an earlier version on the Jul SM64 forum, but I started again from scratch since then due to the level size patch.
Here are some screenshots once imported:

I'm planning to do a full hack called Mario Sunshine 64, I am already working on Bianco Hills, Ricco Harbor and Delfino Airstrip too. I will post a video after I had finished all of those levels.
Ah, SMS levels look great in SM64 with normals. Nice job! I'll be looking forward to more.
