I claimed one of the sky levels but due to a trip, I couldn't work on it.
But I'm fresh with idea's n' all so yep.

Here's an important thing I'd like your opinions on:

I feel personally after a discussion in skype, that the collab is getting a little slower lately. Almost to a crawl. Most of our original "people" interested in the collab seemed to have dissipated, which is unfortunate news.

So, I prepose a "poll" of sorts to you. The choices remain as follows: either continue with the collab or let it die. If we go with the latter, by letting it die, I'd be more than happy for the original authors to use their levels in their own projects and whatnot. If we continue it, then that's great too. =) It's upto you.

I knew that you will say one day about giving up JDCG Collab 2! A team hack can't be finished in months. Look example at SMWCP2 how much time it takes and still it's not being finished.

This should be continued. I would like to contribute but I am not that great with vanilla stuffs, and have three other projects in works and I don't think I am giving up (two of them a team hack).

One word (or two) : Continue this! Like the VIP series, SMWCP series, I want to see the JDCG Series too so make it!

But ASMWCP II is a completely choco hack, the completely opposite of this hack.


I think we shouldn't let it die. I know, I'm not in the sequel now, but that's due to lack of time. You can do this hack, you just need some time. ;)
Sorry for the lack of progress, but ever sense we used the old forum to host the collab, things have been pretty strange.
I'll try to get some kind of progress by the weekend.

Also, we shouldn't let it die. Take a look at VIP 5, the creator of the final level disapeared for 3 years. Did they give up? NO! They waited tell the person came back. He did and finished the collab.

This collab will be done! C'mon guys, lets get to work! #smw{:peace:}

Well first off, I can't seem to access JDCgames right now, so #smw{x_x}

Also, i don't really feel inspired to make any levels as of yet. What i could do, is help out with a couple of submaps. I'm not an expert or anything, but it's worth a try.

Well I'm almost certain part of the reason progress has slowed down was due to JDCGames being down for awhile. People may have forgotten what they claimed in such. (It would feel kind weird hosting it in a single thread.) Also awhile ago I did ask to claim another level but nobody ever answered, so I assumed it was a no. (Because I don't know if I want to keep my special world level.)

I have to agree with Daizo though, it has felt a little strange, not to mention really dead on the old site. Maybe everyone's no aware that we had to move back to the old site or something but yeah.

Regardless, I don't think we should give up just because progress has died down. (That would be calling it quits too early really.)

Edited: And now for some odd reason, I can't connect either.

Sorry for not showing progress, but I'm a extremely slow level designer.
Also, I'm still working on my levels.
Let's not let it die, but perhaps give it a while instead, or wait things back to normal or something. Like EvilGuy said, it's probably because of the site's downtime, which I myself took as an excuse to stop taking enough effort in my level.

So yeah, don't give up. We went far with this, it would be totally nonsense to just do that at this point I guess.

Of course, this is all likely to change, but this is an example of what i can make in terms of Overworld. I chose the pallete to be swampy, because, you know, green. #ab{;)}

Both lists have been updated into the first post.

And that's about it for that. The othger problem is the fact the screenshots and the base ROM were hosted on my site, which is now dead...
I guess I can take some new screenshots for this, and put out a new baseROM.




Until then, feel free to either use this thread to do progress or the site. It is upto you.

@ShadowFire: I really like that submap. =) If you were willing to design an overworld for the collab, I'd be all for it.

Claiming ExGFX iles 94~97, I will use them in my levels.
Also, working on the athletic level, I should probably have some screens soon. Also, does it need to be icey?
Updated the list. No, the athletic sky one does not have to be icy, but it can be.
In addition, I will be claiming ExGFX 113, which I'll be using for my newest level.

Anyways, I thought I would update with a few screens of my own to show. This one is from my WIP level - Bubble Trouble - that is level 107. It was previously level 106 (the haunted swamp), but I thought the level would fit better as the Jungle Treetops one as it wasn;t quite haunted/dark enough previously.

Here are some screens. The main focus, of course, will be swimmable bubbles. There will be the para goomba/bomb generator in the level as well.

Looks cool so far JDC, that's an interesting idea with the swimmable bubbles. =)

I agree with you moving the level over to 107 as it looks like it fits better as a jungle treetop level rather than a haunted one. I like the palettes so far, and those forest slopes are a nice touch, the level design from what I can see seems to be pretty nice too =).
JDC, you gave me the flouting bubble idea ;_;

Whatever, nice job on the aesthetics.
