How good are at hand drawing your own graphics?

Worship the master, the undersigned!
Ok, joking aside, drawing is just my living: as kid i would draw on anything i could draw on (therefore not in a toilet) and i already knew what to do in life. Now, getting more professional i can even do a decent tileset that would seem coming from a real old-school game:

but SMW doesn't offer so much space, so i have to have cutoffs everywhere.

Have to say that someone like Adam, Broozer are pretty good at pixels.

I consider myself a decent GFX artist. I'm probably best at drawing foregrounds, with backgrounds coming in second and sprites coming in dead last.

My current hack should give you an example of what I can do. All of the foreground and background graphics are hand-drawn, with a few exceptions like coins, pipes, and other global objects. My older projects, such as Super Mario Bros. 5 Reborn and Mecha-Bowser's Revenge, also contain tilesets I've drawn, though their graphics work is not as extensive as SIA's.

I'm not very good at drawing graphics. I can draw some global tiles (pipes, checkpoint blocks, spikes, etc.) okay, and I can at least attempt foregrounds (see here), but I suck at backgrounds, and if anything, I suck even more at sprites. I kind of wish I were better at making graphics, but I'm already competent in ASM and music, and nobody can be good at everything. (If only more GFX artists took requests...)

I'm working on a hack! Check it out here. Progress: 64/95 levels.

At least try? That looks more than a try. It looks fantastic to me and like a real grassland tileset.
I am aware that graphics is my stronger point of SMW hacking, and also have been told that my graphics are good, I know that there are other graphics artists out there that are brilliant at drawing graphics too (eg Broozer, Extroble etc.).

But, it is quite hard to say that some are 'better' at drawing graphics than others, while yes it is possible with some of the ExGFX submissions I have seen in the Waiting To Be Moderated section, but overall, many people have their own style of drawing ExGFX; I do, and so do other users, eg Broozer and Extroble like I mentioned earlier. My style has progressed slowly over the couple of years I have been drawing ExGFX, for example this then progressed to this and then this (there is this style as well but I can't say I like it too much). Moving back to my original point of everyone having their own style of drawing, we all have our own opinions on styles, some find 1UPdudes graphics style cleverly unique, while some think it's pillow-shaded and ugly (I am one that likes it and finds it unique), nonetheless peoples opinions differ, so it is hard to make a true justiifcation as to whether the designer themselves finds there graphical style bad or good, mainly because it is hard to please everyone. My main point of this though is if you like your style of drawing and you're happy with it, I say keep it.

This is what I think anyway.
This is some of the most graphicaly appealing gfx I've ever cooked up. Too bad I can't find motivation to keep on hacking.

Just a friendly suggestion, but maybe you could just make publicly distributed tilesets for fun for themes that aren't really popularly made. If you love to draw and still want to be stuck with us, maybe it'd be some sort of enjoyable thing you could take pleasure from.

Also, I am content with the graphics I make for my hack, despite a desire for something smoother and cleaner.
I wonder what a HFD opcode would do in ASM...
I literally cannot draw graphics what-so-ever, although I try to do so from time to time.
Ummm... I consider myself as being good enough. I like to say I have my own style, since, as you can see, I never aim to realistic stuff, I prefer cute and colorful stuff than ultra-realistic ones. I can't really compare myself to anyone here, since I consider my style to be really different from the other artists', the shading is different, the lighting is different, the outlining is different, aaaand I'm obssessed over anti-aliasing. I also have some kind of love for rosy cheeks, because, I don't know, they're just too awesome -^ω^- . Like I said many times before, the Kirby series is a great source of inspiration to me, whenever I feel uninspired, I listen to some Kirby music, look at some Kirby spritesheets, and voilà! Inspiration comes right away.

Also, differently from [what seems like] the majority here, I consider myself good at drawing sprites, I love to draw them. The part where I really suck in is BG drawing... it always looks like something's missing, or that it could have some more variation... I'm never satisfied with the way my BGs shape up... I'd say my real strength is FG drawing, but I just don't know why.

So, yeah. I consider myself good, but I sure as hell am not the best one here. But I kind of like that, it doesn't make me sound cocky, and always makes me want to improve -^ω^- .

And darn you SNES color palette limitations.

I am not in the least bit capable of drawing icons. I don't even have anything to show for it because I've tossed everything out. It's really that bad.

I'm okay at it, and I've drawn some graphics for my own hack, but I wouldn't say I'm on the same level of skill as most of the site's graphics artists. I'm normally better at working with and mixing graphics I already have, as opposed to drawing them from scratch.

Not too great. You be the judge:

Supposed to be Chuck Norris. I tried to make a Chuck Norris boss, but someone just called him "the weird black hatted guy" and TASers keep skipping him in the hack that he's in.

To be fair, the moment I read you mention it's meant to be chuck norris, I instantly recognized it and can't really see the sprite as anything but chuck norris. So good job?

I wish I had a recent example of pixel art but I haven't started making assets for my game yet and the last time I did pixels was... I can't really remember. I guess we'll wait and see.
I can put pixels a bit here and a bit there. Most proficient at small decorations, really. As far as bigger backgrounds and foregrounds go, I prefer using vanilla resources, whether slightly edited in a more creative way or just rearranging the tiles somehow. I'm no use at making things from scratch, and I adore those who are.

But I still managed to get a vote last Mosts voting for Graphical Mastermind. How?
