JDCGames Collaboration 2: Cancelled

Not much to show this time, but here's a small puzzle section from my level.



The shell itself is not easy to access, but the reward is worth it if you can figure it out.
As I've said when I tested the level out, it's looking cool so far. One problem, though, is you can hit the block with the shell therefore skipping the puzzle. It'd be great if you could fix that. :) Otherwise, it's looking good so far.
I figured I'd try and resurrect this thread in hopes I can pull in some level designers for our Collab. :) There are a few levels open at the moment that are available to claim. Please see the very first post for the official level list + what is left to claim. There are 16 of 45 levels done at the moment, so we are approximately 30% done with this collab.

I have added 32 screenshots of each of the 16 levels completed for your to have a look at. Even if you do not wish to help us out in the collab, it would be great to get some constructive criticism and feedback for the levels completed so far. :)

Really loving those new screens. My fave has to be that greeny bluey cave, It's very bright and the level looks interesting to play!
Wow, vanilla hacking is getting better and better nowadays. That is some great work the collaboration is getting!

I'd thought I'd update with a little progress of my own - namely a level I'm working on for the special world. I'm about 1/2 way done so far.

What do you think so far? Any improvements/suggestions?
The pipe on the start of the level is kind of strange to me. Is it really needed?
Also, maybe you could change the Bowser Statues's palette to make they look like chocolate statues.
Other than that, the level's very nice so far.

The pipes there so the descent isn't a blind jump. I'll remove it though. :) It does look a bit odd on a second look.
As for the bowser statues, I've tried changing them, but haven't managed to get anything good out of it yet. :( I'll try again sometime soon though.

I thought it'd be a good idea to update this thread with an update. Just a few screenshots from the level i've been working on lately, it's going to be a kind of volcano themed level :).






These first 2 screenshots are from a small outside section to the level. There are some moderately tight passageways over sections of lava.





And these are from the 1st underground section, this area will involve line-guided ropes and saws as obstacles.

What do you think so far?

Nice to see some work for the sequel. Maybe I'll also try to make a level for the sequel. Perhaps a W3/4 lvl? :P


Hmm... anyone remembers my Volcano/abstract level which I wanted to make for the prequel (which dropped due to inactivity)? If I'd make some changes, it'd fit for W3, hovewer I'm not sure if I still have this one on my comp.

The issue goes with everyone. Right now JDC and Mr Esc is fixing the problem. How do I know? Mr Esc told me.

Yes that is correct. I know what the issue with it is. It will, however, be up later tomorrow night, or afternoon. For now, you can use this thread vfor updates and such. =)

Can we start to resume work on this collab soon? Yes, I am aware JDCGames is down - and will be forever due to a parked domain - so I guess we can start using this thread again.

Unfortunately I don't have a backup of the resources list, so if someone could say what they have claimed, that would be great. I believe we were around 20 levels complete, but I do know which ones are complete so I can verify that.
