Trailer vs. gameplay video?

If it's not too much of a hassle, I'd like to do 7(Stone Sea Sanctuary) myself. Is this okay for you?

This could be interesting. May I do 16 (Lava Lift Lair)?
Check out my music!

Fine by me, except 13 which...

...this guy can take. You are the creator, so it may be a good idea if you do it.

As you wish.
If you wanted to use something from the soundtrack, I could rip you a high quality WAV of it. I think some of the end game music might be good for this one, personally.

Hrm, the thing is, I think all of the game music are too short to keep interest throughout a two minute video. The main theme was just perfect enough to fit in a one minute video, but two minutes of the same tune will be a bit lackluster.

The one song I can think off the top of my head right now is Jimmy's Grassland/Industrial theme (6A), but that's a REALLY short song that would have fit with the teaser better now that I think of it.

I think music lieu with the dynamic vibe of the main theme will work. Not like the steam punk-ish music we have for W8. And darker vibes seem a bit inappropriate for the trailer.
I'm not understanding why we can't just compose a new theme for it. Not only could it be an MP3 (meaning higher quality and more channels), it could also be "epic", and define the trailer a lot more than grabbing some random level track and using it.
I'm for composing something new. What would be cool is if it was a medley of several of the themes from the game. Personally I don't have much interest (or patience) to compose it but it's just my two cents if someone does.

If one song comes to mind right away, it's Electrospire. It's about 90 seconds before it loops, and it's about as epic and energetic a song as you can get. Yet it has the right rhythm and tone to fit a montage of levels.

Perhaps someone could remix it and play that over the trailer, with some other song to bring it up to 2 minutes...

Not too knowledgeable about the music in SMWCP2, but Electrosprire all the way. (Or ideally, an MP3 remix and/or extension of it.) It's just about the only song in the soundtrack that really sends shivers down my spine, and I can see it suiting the trailer perfectly.

Nothing against an entirely new song either if we decide to go that route, I'm just saying we don't necessarily have to.

I actually want a new composition, since none of the soundtracks fits perfectly.

Stuff about Electrospire

This?

Uh...this isn't really energetic. Especially at the beginning part. It's not really a dynamic song, were it's boom from the start to finish. It's pretty lackluster for a trailer.

Unless someone remixes it to be longer and dynamic.
If we're in need of a song for the trailer, I actually made an arrangement of Lucas's grass theme because I liked the melody of it and I thought it'd be pretty fun.

Here's my MP3 of it: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/38570117/GI4.mp3
For the record, I told Jimmy to make this post. I actually think that track would work perfectly as a trailer theme. The arranged version sounds happy and adventurous.
Honestly I think something more upbeat would be better suited. Something like Jimmy's Grassland Theme however obviously it'd have to be something a little longer. Maybe the arrangement could use this as a base then go into some of the other themes? We could easily stretch out 2 minutes.

Yes, it's is a perfect trailer BGM! Though, I imagined upbeat music, in lieu of the teaser and the hack's industry theme.

I have to mention though, I am mainly inspired by various, official, Mario game trailers which are all slow-paced. If everybody else wants a slow-paced trailer rather than a fast-paced one, then so be it.

I mentioned Jimmy's Grassland Theme in one of my posts here. I definitely was thinking of something more like that. Other than Camerin's Grassland Theme, Jimmy's was my second choice for the teaser. It would be wonderful to have an arranged version of this!
Does anyone know a larger way to record clips without stretching? Or is the best possible and scaled size we can use is the one I used in the trailer?

The black borders have always bothered me, though, I refuse to improperly scale the game. So if anyone knows a larger and accurate scale, tell me.
Why would you want the clips to be larger? The default size looks just fine to me.
Stretching things is kind of ugly, just do what most people recording strange ratios do and slap some other, good looking borders on them yourself.
Like Game Grumps for example.

Why can't we have a song like this for the background music for the SMWCP2?

If it's possible to accurately scale the video size to see the gameplay better, then I want to know about it.

Yeah - stretching (at least other than corners) is horrible and an amateurish way of enlarging things. That border idea would actually be awesome! I'll look into how to do it (hopefully with the tools I already have) and, if anyone knows how to do so, I ask of you to inform me. It will be awesome to have a better border than the black one to fill the void.

1. Why are you asking if we "can't" use it when you just asked?

2. It's not custom.
3. It's unrelated to SMWCP2
4. It's doesn't really adhere to the vibe of SMWCP2
5. I'm looking for a fast-paced dynamic song
6. I really don't see this as good trailer music for this hack
7. Heck, I only see it in dark, horror and slow themed games

Could this possibly work then?
