Wow... that looks frigin' awesome man. Seriously, those are some great graphics! Cannot believe I have never seen this thread. Well I may have maybe, but still this is awesome!

Hmm.. Great GFX! I love your redrawn graphics of NSMB (NSMBWii). But I'm curious at the several things.

1. MUSIC : Will you port music of NSMB or NSMBWii? or other games?
2. MARIO GFX : Will you use original Mario graphics in SMW?
3. BOO at GHOST HOUSE : Is it 16x16 original Boo? or did you make the disassembly of boo? I want to know the size of the Boo.

1 - Chances are, music from other games. i'm watching his SMW hack videos VIA Youtube.
2 - most likely not, as this is A more major SMW hack by the looks of it.
3 - Do not know, but maybe he'll reveal if it's 16X16 or 32X32.
Sometimes, I like to hack SMW. This is rare though, but I always try something new.

Hmm, I tried to say that.

1. If you change the music to NSMB or NSMBWii?
3. The boo's size seems 24x24, but there is no assembly of 24x24 boo.
(Have been uploaded in SMWC)
WHOA!!!
This hack seems so awesome that it makes me feel like pissing on my pants for joy O.O

I FREAKING love you OW design and how the ExGFX is used.
I honestly believe in concealed ownership of GFX for custom ExGFX specially those. It may sound like a party pooper thing to say but you should keep the ExGFX for yourself unless you find the desired of releasing it but that will only cause your hack to be not immaculate as i like to call it or in other words it will ruin your hacks respect/pride/uniqueness because of your ExGFX and designs.

Quick question, do you have a supporter's userbar for your hack? I'll like to use it.

oh, hi guys!
I haven't posted anything here for a while, I was uninterested and bored, I almost gave up hacking smw (again xD) but I'm slowly starting to get interested again...

Thank you so much for your comments :3

Well, the world themes are not final, I might change them but for now it is:
W1 = grassland
W2 = beach
W3 = desert
W4 = forest
W5 = snow
W6 = mountain
W7 = clouds
W8 = lava

@Pete3k: MetalJo has already done a red ring sprite for me, but thank you anyways x3

@errorgfx:
1 - Well, there aren't so much NSMB musics here in SMWC, I'm trying to use NSMB musics as much as I can...
2 - The Mario GFX I am using right now is from Mario Party Advance, bit I might change it.
3 - I am using the YI 32x32 big boo sprite with NSMB's 24x24 boo GFX.

@thenextdoor: No, I don't. I have to provide this...

ITS SCREENIES AND VIDEO TIME!!

Since I almost gave up SMWHacking, I haven't much to show today, but I promise I will show more in the next update... xD

Here's a video from the new world 1-Castle
Some people told me that the old world 1-Castle wasn't so good, so I decided to redo it. Is it better now?

Just a small update In my mountain layer 3 BG, Now it has some far mountains instead of just clouds.

The top one is a ground piranha plant thing, and the bottom one is my new piranha plant GFX, I'm going to use a 32x32 custom sprite instead of SMW's default piranha plant sprites.

MetalJo made the grinder sprites and I did the graphics, I liked the sprites so much that I made a level with them to see them in action, I liked the level and now I think I'm gonna use it as world 4-Castle. Please ignore the cutoffs and the emptiness...

-----------------------------------------------------------------
That's all for now, guys. Please let me know what you think about this last update :>

Well, that's good. It would be a terrible shame if you gave up SMW hacking after the great work you've done thus far.

So, basically NSMB world themes with W2 and W3 switched. Fair enough. Are you planning to have a bonus World 9? (And I'll be curious to see your graphics for worlds 4, 7, and 8...)

Funny, I made one as well. Mine makes the item appear flashing over the player's head before dropping down, too.

1 - Makes sense. Maybe I should port more NSMB stuff... My offer to compose stuff still stands. Also, I actually ported the castle theme from the original NSMB as well, here. I haven't released it simply because I wanted to make a sampled version as well, but it's fully ready to use.
2 - So that's where they're from. They look all right to me, but it would be a plus if you could get actual NSMB Mario GFX into the hack (or at least a SNES version of them).
3 - Does the clipping on it work okay?

Yeah, it's all up to you. I think just about anyone who's seen this hack would love to have some of the graphics, but it might be best to wait until you've finished the hack, or until you have a better version of a certain set (such as the beach and underwater ones you've already released).

Canyon BG: Yay! I wondered if you would add Layer 3 mountains to it. It looks even better now.
Piranha Plant: Lovely. It reminds me a bit of SMW Redrawn for some reason.
Castle: Very nice. I love the background and the new Grinder graphics. (Now that I think about it, I don't recall Grinders ever showing up in any NSMB games...)

I think that even if you made a new update every day, I would never get tired of them. You've given us all some more eye candy; the new graphics, as usual, look fantastic. I should mention, I think I actually do like the new World 1 castle better, although the old one looked fine to me as well. I'm glad to hear that you are still working on this, too. (It's been less than a month, I know, but updates for such things are always good.)

----------------

I'm working on a hack! Check it out here. Progress: 64/95 levels.
The latest update is looking great. Especially the grinder screenshot. However, I would suggest making the grinder's line path a little darker. At the moment, white dosn't work well.
Awesome Level Nep! But the Old Music of the Castle is Better, or the Sampled Koopa Kid Castle.

All I can say is... wow. Seriously, fucking amazing. Not only is your graphical style and overall feeling very NSMB-ish, your level design seems to get there too. I just love how you designed that castle. Very nice gimmick, too.

Just one thing I really want to know: where'd you get that giant Thwomp sprite? I have been looking for one for a really long time, but I couldn't seem to find one. I'd love to actually know where you got it from, if you didn't code it yourself, that is. I'm dying to get one, haha.

Great work on the Grinder castle too. The level design seems very solid in there as well. Keep it up.

I really hope there is a world 9. I'm looking forward to the kind of things that will be there.

Just something that bothered me, but shouldn't desert come BEFORE beach?

Did I see some minor framerate issues with the thwomps?
You'll either need to remove some of them, or advertise to people to set the "per2exec" option in ZSNES.cfg to 150 to likely cure the bad framerate in World 1-castle.

Other than that, please keep up the good work, and here's A tip you need to know:
Discoman has released A ASM patch for SMW that adds...the SuperFX chip.

Like I suggested, something fancy like New Super Mario Bros. being made on A SNES would require A chip like the SuperFX to be just as visually impressive as NSMB.
And now if you really know hacking, You can work with 3D Polygons now! #w{=D}

(And. . .muitiple instances of Mode7)
Sometimes, I like to hack SMW. This is rare though, but I always try something new.

No, he works with the order he wants to, he could even make the first world a forest world if he wanted.

OR he can just use the FastROM patch built-in Lunar Magic and BAM! problem solved, no need to tell people to use a crappy emulator and change its .cfg file just because of minor framerate issues.

No, it doesn't need the SuperFX enhancement chip in any way and neither "multiple instances of Mode 7", because I don't even know how would those things remotely fit a platformer like this, and the SNES can't even render a polygon-generated sphere properly, let alone full enemy models, so it would be just useless.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
With that said, i'm guessing my existance has badly disturbed the SMW hacking world,
But when I mean polygons, I Mean low-polygon objects,
like almost all objects in Star Fox SNES, as in render A 3D object with A low ammount of polygons,
And muitiple instances of Mode7 is A basic term for:
You can have more than A single Mode7 sprite, like Yoshi's Island.

But still, He could use polygons and Mode7 for something fancy.
And how is ZSNES crappy? I Use it everyday and i'm fine with it,
mainly for it's easy use and mostly great gameplay.
And you can combine that edit in ZSNES.cfg with the FastROM patch for the best speed increase. #w{=|}

(And yes, A Forest world would still make A decent World 1.)
Sometimes, I like to hack SMW. This is rare though, but I always try something new.

GIANT CHAIN SAWS?! Why do you amaze me?
Want progress on 100 Rooms of Enemies: The Nightmare Edition? Go here to see.

(rip my other userbars momentarily)

As to world order/theme I think it's good to mix things up,

more so than a few of the actual NSMB games

Alas the world order seems pretty solid to me. I can't wait to see what else you have up your sleeves to show. :3
Dude this is amazing. I really liked the World 1 Castle. On thing that can be improved is to let the Giant Thwomp break those blocks directly below it. I modified the code of theThwomp crush block where a custom sprite can break blocks instead. Let me know if you want it by sending me a PM. Also did you use Layer 3 stripe? I'm curious
