Father blames Microsoft as kid runs up £1150 Xbox Live bill

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-07-13-father-blames-microsoft-as-son-spends-1150-on-xbox-live

Really? You're blaming Microsoft for something that is clearly YOUR FAULT?! He should never have given his credit card details to a 12 YEAR OLD and he is far too young to be playing Call of Duty. Also, how the hell do you spend £100 in A DAY on CoD and FIFA? Plus the Father didn't check his credit card statement for SIX MONTHS! He didn't turn on parental controls and he never kept an eye on what his son was doing. That is a good example of BAD PARENTING! #w{>=(}
Of course, it's never the fault of the person who has failed at something. Clearly, it must be someone else's fault, Microsoft themselves, forcing the child to purchase online products and services with credit card information he gave to the son.

That's Grade-A intelligence right there.

I seriously wish people would just man-up and admit their mistakes sometimes, for their sake.
The ESRB ratings aren't legal ratings, meaning no game's ever been banned in the US. Australia on the other hand, you couldn't count ours with an abacus!
Of course, if my (currently untitled) commercial game (not in RPG Maker) ever gets made; it's about a lesbian and the main villain's a descendant of one F. Phelps. Yes, WBC is the bad guys. That'd be banned in at least Kansas at the drop of a Touhou hat.

The Guy Game was banned from being produced in the U.S. (copies can still be found used/new) because a girl revealed that she was 17 when she was filmed topless. Go figure.
The girl was banned from being in games for how long? One year? Five? Twelve?
And is public breastfeeding still illegal?

She wasn't banned from being in games, the game itself was banned permanently from production. As for breastfeeding, I have no idea.

Technically no games have been banned due to the ESRB (I believe), but if you're making a game for the general public, an AO rating is practically a death sentence since most top retailers will refuse to carry it.

Anyway, how did the father not notice the charges sooner? I'm baffled as to how he didn't notice them for 6 months.
I've seen some parents let their kids play CoD and the kids are alright (and these kids are few and far between) but giving your CREDIT CARD to a kid is Fresh, Organic, Medium-Rare Stupidity straight from the farm.
Not only that, blaming Microsoft for what your son did increases the stupidity portions of your product, giving you the best quality in stupidity XD
And it seems like delicious stupidity costs a lot... 1150 pounds to be exact.
