Hey-ya! Welcome to the hack's thread!!

The story is quite simple in the beginning...Peach got kidnapped in a forest, Mario must go there and save her! But the story isn't ended...a new enemy will devastate the Mushroom Kingdom, the well-known Dark Mario!
This time Mario isn't alone: there will be Peach, Trio and other friends that he will meet going on in the game.
The worst parts of the game are (maybe) the cutscenes: maybe some syntax errors here and there, but it's still readable!
How many levels? 54 levels, each one with its own style!

And in dark mario's lair the final form of dark mario Is a little weird.It's ok but could be better(Not the fight but he flies weird)It can be sourrounded by darkness and looking like this when he flies:


He would look in his last form much much better.

But anyway best hack of all time.Level design,music,bosses,Great Overworld,it has everything.If this got removed I will strike(just kidding but really).

Edit:Not a mayor thing but you should know.The last battles with dark mario the music that plays when it ends it will not start again.But not mayor.

Another edit:The Final level and the tower of 37 has some difficult jumps so without feather the player will never pass even through mario has abilities it seems it is to far!

Oh look, another hack filled with a lot of custom stuff; and it still has horrible level design. Not trying to be rude or anything, but inserting a lot of random custom stuff and filling a hack with ExGFX and ASM doesn't make it better if the level design is still very poor. Also worth to be mentioned: your bosses take way too many hits, making all the boss battles rather boring. I'm not even going to start about the grammar errors: there are simply way too many. You should really get some beta testers for that. Let me also tell you there are a lot of horrible palettes in here, as well as graphical clashes.

You say horrible level design?Then this hack isn't for you.Maybe it has some grammar errors but no one helped him in this problem.I am sure he asked for help.
But yes not every hack or game is for every person,some people like some smw hacks and other games,and some not.So if this is your opinion then so be it.

Listen up. You can say it that rude, but each person has their own taste. Sure, you've said it yourself, but the thing is, most people don't like utterly bad and sloppy level design. Sure, you might like the hack, but don't tell others not to comment on something when all they meant it as was to be helpful. It doesn't make them look rude, but you.

And the grammar? He could easily ask someone on SMWC to check all of his grammar. There are a lot of people that natively speak English and are there to help him. It just depends on him if he wants to accept it or not.

These are just my 2 cents, and also why I'm leaving smwcentral.net. Goodbye.
I have to agree with Turbo Man, xImseiken3, there is no person out there who enjoys mediocre level design, except maybe Protonjon but he has a rare mental condition called Badmaromhackitis. The point I'm trying to get across is that there are people that like levels over graphics, some people that like story over graphics, some people that like music over story, but there are no people out there that legitimately search for sloppy level design over everything else. Its not the moral thing to do, as level design is everything in a hack, and if the level design feels unfinished then thats a huge gap in game.

Now for Silver:

I'm sorry to ask, but how did you go from Le Avventure Di Mario 2 to Le Avventure Di Mario 3 in a matter of months? In fact, I think I liked le Avventure Di Mario 1 the best of them all, because you took the most time with it, you put in the hours to finish up every little detail, and even earned a spot on the Hack of the Week! But this time it just feels unfinished. I think you let your ego overtake your sense of perfection that you were aiming to achieve with your first hack.

Remember please, take lots of time between hacks to make sure everything is touched up and ready to be released, because this doesn't feel as ready as it could've been. The Hack Moderators even said you should get some Beta Testers before you release, did you not listen to them? If you didn't, then start listening, I assure you it will make a big difference.

And just to let you know, although graphics are important, in the case of a ROM hack I would rather play a vanilla ROM hack without any extra fancy graphics or custom ASM gimmicks but with good level design, as opposed to a ROM chucked full of meaningless ASM.

(IMO) For a ROM Hack:
Level Design > Story > ASM > Music > Graphics > Everything Else

(For a full-fledged game I would say that everything is equally important, but I won't get into that now.)

Anyway, yes, some people enjoy a Brutal Mario styled hack more than others. Silver, may I advise you to play a hack like Rise to the Challenge? This hack shows that it's not all about graphics and custom stuff, but about level design. You might get some inspiration from that.

Eh, this I have to disagree with. Yes, level design is the most important, but I honestly do not see why story goes over ASM or music. Meh, that's more of a personal thing.

How do you get the secret exit in The Cave Water? Oh, and great hack! In my opinion, the LADM2 is the best one. I wonder what you'll do for LADM4. (If you make it)
just finished this hack. excellent hack. loved the graphics and the level design was pretty good. I do have one question, what was the song used in the first level of the ice world?


To be completely honest, the level design is not completely bad, there are some fun and interesting segments that have good enemy layouts and interesting gimmicks, but what really through me off in this hack was the difficulty curve (which was more of a prolonged melodramatic electrocardiography wave, where the QRS Complexities were boss levels), the bosses, and alterations in the main gimmicks.

Now the level design was alright, but despite the fact that I have a long list of images ready to upload depicting the major and minor flaws, I will not mention it as it would take too long and would probably mimic the Hack Moderators (if the hack isn't accepted). As I mentioned above the difficulty curve felt almost non-existent to me, and completely linear from the beginning of the hack to the end. This can make a hack extremely boring, especially once you've mastered that difficulty and have nowhere to go to improve your skills. The difficulty also seems to be created by some 'fake' things, such as changes to inherent gimmicks that have maintained their unaltered state for so long that when they were edited in this hack it created confusion and even unfair deaths, I'll talk a bit more about this later. And now for the big thing, which was a very large part of the hack's difficulty spikes, the bosses.

Sorry to sound harsh, but your bosses are extremely repetitive in more ways than one, long, boring, and at the same time, harder than what they should be for their position in the hack. I swear that I saw the exact same boss code about four times with just a simple graphics switch. Thats a big no-no in a hack with custom boss. Sure the original Mario World did it with Roy and Morton and Iggy and Larry and so forth, but at least they weren't overly difficult and only lasted about a minute maximum (besides Bowser of course). The bosses in this hack are almost the exact same throughout the entire game, the same attacks, the same movement pattern, and the same difficulty, which soared high above the necessary difficulty. In fact, I was forced to use Save States to defeat Trio for the first time, and that was in World 1!

Now I mentioned that you had changed some inherent things in the Mario universe that through me off. The main things were the fireballs and the Goombas, but those were only some of the things altered. These changes in dynamics might not have been as bad if the difficulty wasn't so great and linear when you first meet these sprites. It is a necessity for a good hack to have a comforting difficulty for the first world ESPECIALLY if you alter the dynamics of things, so that you have time to work and understand these new gimmicks before applying them in full-on combat. I must say the change in Fireballs really messed me up in certain sub-conscious situations created upon the usage of normal fireballs for so many years.

I probably should also mention the story, it was a decent idea, but it was not executed well. The grammatical issues found in nearly every sentence of dialogue through off the mood so much, turning a thrilling and depressing story into a goofy, uninteresting, jammed-in-at-the-last-second premise. Please, please, please, please, please. . . have people Beta test your hack, please! Make sure all of you grammar is correct, all the little kinks in the hack are fixed up, then release it. I won't give this hack a full rating out of 10 because I realized I'm no good at doing it, so I will leave that to others to decide upon.

There are not much bosses that have edited graphics and same attack.These are:Dark Mario but not his final form,but I think it should not change much,
Ring man and Lui-37.Not much bosses the same in my opinion.
Different are Ludwig,Larry,trio,Tamarrin(cool boss),Dark Mario(last form and some others if I am correct).

xImseiken3: If you practice with the long jump, you will be able to survive. The trick is that you don't have to push any button while in mid-air. Remember it! Also thank you for all the tips!

Cerberus Yoshi: When you will find the chuck with the two Rip Van fishes, swim down, and you'll find a P-switch. Activate it and you can go in the blocked pipe. For a possible Le avventure di Mario 4 I would say....no. I don't even know if I will do another hack...with all these bad posts...

And change just a little some bosses I sayed before wich are the same way and It should be ok.

I am sure some people did not beat tamarrin.He and your dark mario,that tree boss,larry,mecha mario,the muncher boss,the boss in the Lavalicious castle, and in mystical lava fort are different bosses put these in your head.
The only same bosses I could see are the Lui 37 with ringman.No more the same!

I would just say the main main suggestion for you:

Find a great tester and someone who can solve your grammar porblems and then critics will be burned in hell.Trust me.And length is perfect.I don't like that much long hacks.
The special world is so awesome! I liked "How Dare You" The upside down mountains were awesome! (Expecialy the boss)

No, don't think that. You're not a shit level designer and you've proven that with Li Avventure Di Mario 1! Those levels were among the best I've seen from you! We all know that you can be a great level designer, it just takes a certain amount of care and commitment to unleash the power of that level designer in you.

Everyone has bad days, and thats nothing to get worked up over. You're not a shit level designer, you've already shown us. And look on the bright side, even if some people think your levels are bad, I can assure you that no one on this site will think less of you as a person. In fact, I think most people here would try to help you, encourage you, and teach you, as opposed to maliciously ranting about the wrongs of your hack. I can honestly say that I don't think any less of you as a person or a level designer. :)

BUT PLEASE CHANGE THE BOSSES. I think it would be a major improvement if you just decreased the amount of hits they take from 15 each, to 3, 6 or 7 hits each MAXIMUM.
