Your least favorite part of SMWRom Hacking

I'm pretty sure what the OP means is what you dislike about what you HAVE to do at hacking, such as beta-testing, designing a type of level, looking for a fitting song, etc.

You don't even have to learn ASM at all in order to hack.

to hear birds and see none.
Making sure that everything is perfect, like making sure the OW is alright, the events work, no cutoff anywhere. etc.

And maybe sprite inserting, even with a tutorial it's still hard.
My least favorite part would have to be getting everything perfect in the OW. It's just a pain when 1 thing is out of place and you have to change everything to fix it.
My current least favorite part is having to re-learn a lot about Lunar Magic because I haven't used it for about a year and a half...

I know that I don't need it, but I want to know what it is so I could create a custom sprite of my own. Like, a P-Switch that doesn't play the P-Switch music, or a Yoshi Coin Secret Exit activator.

Overworld editing, which is ironic since i love overworlds.
To assemble big BG's manually or find out that the perfect BG that you have just downloaded doesn't work in LM 2.01 or whatever. >:/
To double post in this thread, ExAnimation. It used to be fairly simple in earlier versions of Lunar Magic, but now it's kind of incomprehensible. I tried to get four 8x8 tiles to blink on and off in unision, but eventually, one of them became "Off-sync" with the others. I didn't know what caused the problem, and I couldn't correct it, so I had to just abandon the animation and work around it.

EDIT: 69th reply! 8>

so yeah... music stuff.
I've grown to enjoy making grasslands. Now, my least favorite part is castles. I can never seem to make fitting palete.

Out of everything, for me it's actually making levels. (I haven't done ASM before.)

I'm starting to discover that I don't like making castles, especially when trying to work Yoshi Coins into the design. My castles tend to be fairly linear, causing them to not really meet my perhaps ridiculously high standards. Those standards also make it hard to find inspiring hacks since 99% of hacks on this site don't meet them. I even wish I could just go in and wipe out every substandard hack hosted here.

Graphic Designing, and Pretty Much Overworld Editing
ASM: I dislike spending hours trying to figure out how to code something to work the exact way I want it. Plus it's just not my strongpoint, so I usually end up fucking something up along the way, sometimes to grand proportions (e.g. The Essence Star).
There are a couple things for me, but to name the main ones:

-Inserting custom music, sprites, etc. It's just way more tedious than I'd like it to be.
-Ripping original graphics, mainly cause I'm not much of an artist (or a good one at least). I'd like to make a ROM hack with it's own hero/antagonist but I can't draw (sprites especially) for sh*t.
-Making the main overworld. I'm not the greatest at creating large, creative terrains so I'm better at making Submaps.

Assembling the Map16 tiles when after I create/rip my graphics. It's really time consuming.
Wanting to make a level, but lack the inspiration to do so. Pretty much the bane of my hacking career.
Choosing music and making caves. Just can't figure out a perfect usic for anything. And never copleted a normal cave level for anything but a contest.
