Into The Sixth Dimension: Dimension Rod Robbery

Standard

Actually, I'm at my grandparents' house right now, so I couldn't make any progress.

EDIT: New level for World 1! The name is Voided Volcano! It will be black and purple, my colors for that "empty" feeling.

Why are you looking down here?
Oh come on! Why is no one paying attention to the thread!

Why are you looking down here?
But where are the screens I am looking very much to this thread!Where are those screens!
I'm still making the levels right now.

Why are you looking down here?
I haven't done any thing with the levels yet but I did create Voided Volcano's palette.

How does that look?

Eh, it looks OK. But that's just my opinion. I think it could be a bit more colorful, unless it's a dark themed world.
It's supposed to be black and purple, because I link those colors to that empty feeling. Also, that's for one level.

Here's the new palette for Voided Volcano. Does it look any better?

Comments? Please? Anyone?

I'd change the lava colours and pipe colours, they look really funky. Otherwise, I don't have much to comment on. Why not build some of the level first and then show us again?

- BlackMageMario
I can't find the pipe colors in the pallette editor, and I made a gradient for the lava, I don't see how it's wrong.

Actually, if you could fix the weird white dots for the lava, that would work.

And the pipe palette is probably on palette rows 5-7, last three colours.

- BlackMageMario
What do I need to do for the pipe? I've found the palette for it.

Just make a better gradient for it. How about this: Take the first colour, put it at the end of the grident, darken it, then use Alt + left click and click on the start of the grident, and then clikc Alt + right click at the end of the grident. That will make the middle colour fit in with the others.

Guys, please?! Comments?! Also, BlackMageMario, I have no idea what you just said.

Ok, Have you watched the Lunar Magic tutorials of Chainfire9001? If not, I'd highly recommend doing that. If you start with LM, It's just like school; You just need someone who's better in this.

Here are his tuts:

Level Basics Part 1/3
(Mostly of this you know already, but it explains BMM's palette thingy and some other things you might not know)

Making an Overworld Part 1/7
(70 minutes you really need when making a OW for the first time)

More on Levels Part 1/2
(More Complicated then Basics, but still easy to understand)

ExGFX & SpritesTutorial Part 1/2
(Explains the program YYCHR and some sprite stuff)

Level Odds and Ends 1/1
(Very usefol tutorial about sprite limits and some hard sprites to handle correctly like Magikoopa)

Hope this helps and I hope to see some levels from you soon!
Yeah, I watched them. That was how I learned in the first place!

Well, I hope you're still trying to fix the palette then. If not, I'll show it here. I'm sure willing to help, but I can't do everything for you, otherwise it'll more my hack ;D.

Here's BMM thing explained more detailed.

Open up the palette editor screen. This is the palet from the original level 105.

Let's say, you've got something like this (left) now in your palet editor (watch the 2nd row). Right shows how it looks in your level.

Now you have to press Alt+RightClick in the yellow circle (the most left square you want to edit) and after that, press Alt+Right click in the orange circle (the most right square you want to edit).

After that, your palette editor screen and your level will look like this:

That looks a lot better, doesn't it? The computer automatically fitted the middle colors between your outer squares.
I hope this helped,
Oh Hell No
He was talking about the pipe palettes... Honestly, I should probably ask some staff member to close the thread, after all, no one's commenting. I won't yet, though. If nobody comments within 5 days, I'll have someone close the thread. Also, OHN (Oh Hell No), it won't be more your hack than mine if you help with the palettes for one level out of a lot.

Why are you looking down here?
Comment :)

Anyway, the reason noone is posting is cause you don't have any pics. Just use the picture button when making a post, enter the URL, and MAGICAL things will happen. Or make a pic

But I digress, what I have to say about your hack is that I have no idea what it is about.
