Yes, it's true! I'm not playing a prank or fooling anyone.
The SMW Central staff team has decided to hire three users as full-time Hack Moderators. These users will be responsible for keeping the Hacks Waiting to be Moderated from reaching double digits. These users may acquire other staff powers, such as powers in other submission sections and forum powers, but this will be on an 'as-needed' basis.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Moderating hacks.
Reviewing hacks for Featured Status upon implementation of our new Featured Hacks Assessment (FSA) program (coming soon).
Assisting in the General Hacking Help and Hack Discussion forums.
Valued Attributes:
Previous experience in criticizing and disapproving of showcased hacks in the Hack Discussion forum(s).
The ability to tell people what hacks they like and what ideals of level design to hold.
Time management skills are a must-have! Dawdling on hack moderation could get you demoted. In general, the number of days a hack should take to moderate is equal to one half the number of levels or one third the number of exits a hack has. Hacks that do not indicate length should take no less than two weeks to moderate.
Infrequent posting in the World of Insanity is appreciated but not mandatory.
A strong sense of self-confidence, self-assurance, and self-identity. Being able to maintain one's personality and habits in the face of criticism of any kind is a valued trait.
"I'm in! What do I need to apply?"
You will need a few things. First off, you must forward a written statement that you have submitted at least ONE (1) hack to this site and had it be accepted without having been rejected. This will be verified by the staff, so be honest!
You will also need to download NanoScope, a zoom tool for all major SNES emulators that allows you to view levels at the subatomic level. With NanoScope, you can easily zoom in on pixel cutoff and make it look like it's bigger and more game-breaking than it really is. If you can't find NanoScope, keep looking--it is a required tool for all Hack Moderators.
You must also download the U.S. version of Torpedophile Tedward's Trippy Time. It was long ago submitted and silently rejected from the site due to its absurd length and disgusting quality. At over 120 exits long, and featuring broken levels, awful palettes, grating music, sprites that look like a blind guy like me drew them, and an...inappropriate storyline, TTTT (or T4) is the worst SMW hack ever created. All Hack Moderator candidates must moderate the hack and submit screenshots to Kieran or S.N.N. in order to be considered.
Salary: $28,000-$30,000 per annum for 40 hours a week. You will also be entitled to the staff's Medical Benefits, Dental Benefits, Life Insurance plan, and invincibility to being banned.
Please apply! I--err, I mean, the staff team wants you todo our work for us help us!
