The Story is in my signature. Screenshots in my last post.
My main gripe is the overworld. It looks really square and empty.

And how did you ExGFX that black text and arrow? >_>

This is a thing that's happening, now. Achievements in old video games.
Thank you for the layout, Erik557.
Man, I wish this would've worked. Oh well.
If not for respect, but dramatic effect, take on the face of Guy Fawkes.
I drawed i with paint to show it to you. On the Overworld comes more. But I maked just the first world. I want to insert more levels on this overworld above.
Decent, nothing special yet, thry to add somthing that makes the game unique, and not just another SMW hack. Same here about the OV.
I have ExGFX, Custom Sprites, Custom Musics and Custom Blocks in it. I don't know any ASM so I can't make any unique things.
There are, quite literally, no secret exits AT ALL. Please change this.
It looks good except the fact that none of the levels have secret exits. make a level or two a red dot and add a secret exit.
Check out my profile for awesomeness!
I counted 8 levels in the world. (excluding the castle) A couple of these could be put on a secret pathway.

there is 9 levels [excluding the castle]

If you include the house, yes, but it just seems like too many that are mandatory for the world.
There are 8 levels, 1 house, 1 fort and 1 mystery castle in the picture. Too linear for my liking.
I'm a rubberducky in the shape of a 2 ain't life grand!
Looking forward to NSMBWii, SMG2, Pokèmon HG/SS, Mario Forever 4.4 and Gran Turismo 5
Currently playing:
Mario Forever Advance, Mario Kart Wii, TSRPR
w00t.

I remember that GFX from a 5-level DOS-Game I have from Mario ^^
I like it :-)

Same as the others considering the overworld. It's boring.
On the Overworld Picture comes more. This is just a piece of it.
looks great, but where did you get the ? sign from?
Your layout has been removed.
He probably made it. Also Good work, just make the OW look less sqaure/rectanglish.
Since this is called The Search For Atlantis, I wouldn't be surprised if a whole nother group of worlds was connected in a way after Mario gets under the water(like Bowser's Valley). It would be great when you get underneath the water and on a world in Atlantis to have a very unusual and neat BG and FG to complement that Mario is not in Brooklyn anymore. It would also be great to find out if there are any markings or Greek characters in the hack, because Atlantis is attached to Grecian tales sort of like the demi-goddess Atlanta.

It would also look great if there were fishes(cheep cheeps in some sprite reversal instead of jumping up and down) swimming around the worlds afterall underneath the water is very much like over the water. You could have a mountain stage, a cave stage, a water stage, a plains stage. Possibly also include scuba gear or anything else to indicate that Mario is going to search for the lost city of Atlantis.

Maybe even have the final boss be a highly advanced computer when he gets there.
I am not a hacker by trade, I am an observer and I can be very observant. I tend to lurk around here to prolong the good experience of playing the original SMW. Whatever can add onto it is something that I will definitely do when I am bored which is often. And I will rarely post and give praise when needed to the hacks that may make me interested to relive memories.

My worst enemy in Mario isn't Bowser but my controller that keeps on getting disconnected from the inside. Might be my memory count.
Yeah, thats a good idea. What i say is have a level in the water, and in front of it, a big circle of darker water to signal the player that there is something below( EX pokemon when u have to dive). So after you beat that level mario moves to the dark spot goes down and is in Atlantis.
Correct, the whole entire first world(except for the switch palace) in SMW I was completely linear. The other worlds were rather non-linear but the first world in any game is usually linear to get you started. Personally it would be great if there was a power-up like scuba gear that functions like the Frog Suit in SMBIII.

I do wonder if the level that leads to Atlantis would have a few pieces of gold to indicate to Mario that something weird is around there. Can you actually hack Mario where he can have a map to point to where you are in the world, like in Super Metroid. Perhaps the map could be the OW Water map. If this is at its true potential it will be fascinating. Perhaps that is why the castle on the left has a mystery sign next to it. Maybe it will help Mario get to Atlantis.

OK, I changed the games name and all. But I want to use this Atlantis and Mystery Castle thingy in my new hack. That with the Map and the point like that from Super Metroid doesn't work because I didn't know any ASM sorry. But I ask some people. Maybe they can make it for me. I use a Mystery Cave in the first world. After you beated it you come to Atlantis??? Look on my signature, there are some infos about my hack. There will be HDMA Effects too.

I know, lame title, lame world. But the first world is always lame.

World ?: The Mystery Caves

The mysterious world. It is in Yoshis Island and you can walk at the beginning in this cave. But to pass the first level, you need all switches. The lake in the middle is Ghost Lake. There are two Levels in the Ghost Lake.

World 3: Black Path Canyon

You see, after each level, the path fades to black and you can go towards.

If you want more Pics or if you have questions, PM me. ^^
No. Do not use palettes 0-3 for the overworld. Change the tiles in the last shots and just re-color palettes 4-7 to your liking. The way it is now, you're just being lazy about paletting. You can have the black paths in palettes 4-7 but do not use that palette for your map.
