The hardest game ever?

Kaizo

Pit of despair/death and item abuse are iconic pit hacks, yet are outclassed by several other pit hacks previously mentioned.

IWBTG is more of an unfair game than anything, as well.

Also, outside of SMW, I'd say the Asakura series of games are pretty hard, perhaps not the hardest, but they're pretty darn hard, especially Asakura P. A Google search should find them and their translation (if it exists) for you (TLWiki should help a lot with AP at least).

IWBTG is unfair to you because it's to hard :P (JK)

i claim the right to say anyone who talks shit about living on the edge or says its not that hard, you have no right. as far as i am aware, i am the only person who has beaten it. an insanely experienced taser who is addicted to hard smw hacks, has beaten most of pitiless (gave up due to a part being impossible and when fixed it caused my smv to desync) and wall jump abuse. wall jump abuse, although long, does not compare. wall jumps you can use lua and some math very easily to get them to work. and in addition he left out the most difficult wall jump to perform, the one i did in springboard and shells hack in like level 3 (the p switch one) in a one tiled space. in addition, towards who ever said lote was a demonstration hack, you honestly have no idea what you are talking about... the shell jumps in the second and third rooms are some of the most ridiculous things you will ever try. most jumps are insanely sub pixel perfect, more then jumping through a one tiled space (which isnt sub pixel perfect at all :P) once i see you make a video beating it, then i will allow you to make comments on its difficulty. and lastly, at what defines a hard hack, you cannot say how long it takes to beat, item abuse and pit of death, they are both fairly difficult, however, item abuse takes much longer. difficulty however is the opposite. in the end however, i will admit that lote is not the hardest rom hack ever. it is as of now, but from what i have made so far in lote:p2, it doesnt compare...

I don't see a 1-tile walljump in P-Switch. You just kept jumping on the message block.

Indeed. Jumping on a sprite block is the easiest thing ever since their hitboxes already stick out a pixel farther than walls. "Hardest walljump", my ass.

thats not the one... look after that when i am going up to duplicate the yoshi block.... durrr :P

EDIT: Landing here is the most difficult thing in wall jumping to perform. Took me about 3 hours to confirm it was possible, but recreating it only takes about five minutes, which is still longer then any other one takes.

It is really hard to explain all the factors that go into making this possible, you will just have to take my word for it that it is the most difficult wall jump. However I was planning on making a tutorial on how to do this. If I do, I will link it here.

Is the fact that it's a p-switch the thing that makes it hard? Or is it hard with any 2 items?

I also heard that you ragequitted at glitch abuse 2. I'd like to see you beat our time when we're done tasing it (because I know it's going to happen). Surprised that me and shadowdragon, 2 relative noobs, have gotten to level 6, which is furthest anyone has got since it's release. Should have got more attention, it's a lovely hack.
where do people even get these ideas... holding items makes difference. its the fact that you have to jump passed the corner without getting a corner boost, yet still going high enough to hit the top of the block. and no, i did not rage quit, i stopped it because i lost all respect for its creator. and no, i will probably never return to it. and no, this is not a tas talk thread.

Why did you lose respect for gbreeze? The whole "Alex" thing? Personally, I think glitch abuse 2 is very challenging, but remains more or less fair throughout. I haven't played a lot of pitiless; only up to the room with the mushroom on the left in the munchers, sort of gave up working it out since I'm not great with puzzle hacks. Did you smv desync completely or just half of it? I'd love to see what you've done so far even if it isn't much, just to see how it's solved.

I was there in the stream when you ragequit, TFB. You didn't quit when you "lost all respect for the creator", and it was waaaaay before the Alex-Gbreeze troll started. You quit because you couldn't get through the door in the first room.
And then started playing Super Meat Boy (btw the saws kill you).

um bro. you clearly dont understand that when i stream i have a very low tolerance for things that either dont really challenge me, or just all out bore me. i came back to it many times with reg until we had an excellent first room completion, yet i quit once alex decided to be a troll because he thinks he is cool. and what is with your annoying need to argue everything?

@ jay person - i cant stand alex. him being an ass hole has gone on for way too long. yet for some reason he has this strange obsession with annoying me, which is just immature. so if gbreeze wanted me to tas his hack, he should never have made that stupid ass joke with alex.

alex made an account on skype with the name gbreeze and told gbreeze to go along with it (dont remember the details exactly) and some stuff happened.

In other news, this shell jump has been irritating me for a while now, just can't seem to get enough height while still being able to re-grab the shell:

Basically, TFB sent Alex his entire TAS folder, including the ones he was working on, like his Item Abuse TAS.

Also, TFB, about that stream, I'm pretty sure that was due to you failing to actually look at the room before you tried breaking it, not because you got bored of it. Besides, LoTE is a million times duller than it.

Btw I didn't even know that they were doing that until I was told about it at least 3 or so days after it happened.. so I didn't really plan it or even know it was happening.
Though you don't have to be so upset about it, it's just a joke :P

Also, I would say that Lote is harder than GA2. I don't know about walljump abuse, but I did get a lot farther in walljump abuse than I did in living on the edge. When I made GA2, I wasn't aiming for greatest difficulty, but more of a really cool pit hack with never before seen glitches & good-looking palettes; not necessarily difficulty :P

Also, I think difficulty is all relative to the TASer. Some have more trouble with walljumps than other things, while others might hate puzzle-related pit hacks.
Glitch Abuse 2 is longer and prettier than lote. If lote is harder, then completing ga2 should be a good form of "practise", since I'd like to at least give lote a go. I really want to see a video/solution to most of pitiless since I'm crap with working out puzzle hacks.

Back to the other hilarious topic of tfb pouting, he sent alex his tas folder... then what happened?
