I've started listening to some of these, and I like what I'm hearing.

Sonic 3 & Knuckles - Gumball Machine Bonus Stage
This is a very nicely-done port that I could easily see being used in the Level 0/100 Bonus Game.

Pyrotechnic Perennial X
This sounds like a Mega Man X song, and the MMX samples just intensify that. The title even sounds like it could be the name of a Maverick. It wouldn't be the first time there have been flower-based bosses in MMX.
Quintesson Judge: Silence, or you will be held in contempt of this court!
Hot Rod: I have nothing but contempt for this court!
- Transformers the Movie (1986)
I was listening to your S3&K Gumball port and it was amazing. I'm going to add you to my favorite music porters list.

My favourites.
And the one I like mostly is the "Kids with dreams"

Pretty sweet, this one is. Excellent work.

Your "Tower of Heaven" ports are great too.

My only issue is with the "Ducktales Moon" port, which sounds a bit empty. But maybe that's only because I heard this before hearing your port, so you can take my opinion with a grain of salt for it.
Check out my music!
Thanks for the feedback, guys! Moose, I can see why you think my port sounds empty, and I agree. I think it might be because there's not a lot going in in-between the low bass pitches and high synth pitches, causing the volume pyramid to collapse! Thanks for pointing that out! I may end up revising that in the future.

And now, here is an update to the list of ports:

This one is more of a filler port. I love the Mario Party soundtrack (I'm actually porting another song from it right now!), so I figured I'd port this one.

I am currently porting:

  • Gunstar Heroes - Subterranean Caves
  • Mario Party - Mario's Rainbow Castle

..Oh yeah, and I thought I'd let you guys know that not only did I submit this new port, but I also submitted Pyrotechnic Perennial X! Feel free to use both! (flashygoodness would like credit if Pyrotechnic Perennial X is used, though. Be sure to take that into consideration!)
I updated the list on the first post with two new ports:

  • Wario Land - Syrup Castle
  • DDRKirby - Gulliver (Gulliver Soundtrack)

These ports were a bit more experimental, trying out the unsampled @22 noise command I saw in one of wa's ports. I asked him for the source a while ago, but I never actually put it into action until I ported these two songs months later. The Wario Land port was requested by Riolu180. The Gulliver song was done for fun, and (hopefully) another user submits their sampled version of the song soon.

Expect these two ports to be submitted to the Music Section soon. I'm currently polishing them up.

... As of this post, I am not currently porting anything right now.
I'm listening to the Syrup Castle port right now, and it sounds more 16-bit than FPI's version. If Wario Land ever got a 16-bit upgrade, I could imagine this playing in the final level.

Hot Rod: I have nothing but contempt for this court!
- Transformers the Movie (1986)
Isn't that pseudo noise something like @22 $E8 $18 $60 [c192 e192 g192]8 ?
I really like how you used it in these two ports anyway.

I'm not familiar with the original at all, but the port is really good and has a nice 8-bit like sound. Also loving the chords, sample $0C works really well as a piano!

I really like how this one sounds.
The double bass really fits here, great choice. Also good job with that @4.

On a side note, I used to play that game a lot on my game boy, but then I kind of broke the save system...
You're actually very close. This is what I used: Noise Example #2

Glad to know you like it! The OST is absolutely wonderful, and you should definitely give it a listen too! (I still can't believe that+the game it was made for were both made not only by one person, but within a span of 48 hours!)

Anyways, I updated that port with a new version. Check the first post again. I made a very small, yet very effective instrument change. I hope you all like the change, because I feel it sounds even closer to the original!

I am also glad you enjoy the Syrup Castle port! I was worried I might have took out the mood of the original, since I have not actually grown familiar to the song's origin when porting it.

I updated the list on the first post with my SPC Festival 5 submission. Check out my ports, and don't forget to upvote any of the submissions on the site! (The right-most button on each post.)

Many ports I have already mentioned/released, so I am only going to list the ones which haven't seen their spotlight:

  • CUSTOM - Ulterior Boss Battle
  • Darkseed 2 what (For Ersanio! :D)
  • La.MuLANA - Run Towards the Sun
  • Mario & Luigi - Super Star Saga - Hoohoo Village
  • Mario Party - Yoshi's Tropical Island
  • Mario Party 2 - Inside the Pipe (Yikes! Forgot the SPC! Sorry!)
  • Mario Party 2 - The Blue Skies Yonder
  • Tales of Phantasia - Fighting of the Spirit (Revision 1.2)
  • YOUUUuuuu

And now, the unfinished ports:
  • cmc.spc (William Anderson - Cutie Mark Crusaders Go Exploring)
  • comp1.spc (My original Idol 5, Round 2 submission [It's a composition], before I scrapped it.)
  • crazyloop.spc (Dan Balan - Crazy Loop)
  • dragonroost.spc (The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker - Dragon Roost Island)
  • lazydraft1.spc (Super Mario Sunshine - Bonus Area [A cappella])
  • lolz.spc (Daniel Ingram - Becoming Popular)
  • metroid.spc (Super Metroid - Brinstar)
  • oops.spc (Mario Party 2 - Western Land [Bad Samples])
  • rainbowcastle.spc (Mario Party - Mario's Rainbow Castle)
  • smw.spc (Pokemon BW - Tubeline Bridge)
  • surfingonasinewave.spc (fearofdark - Surfing on a Sine Wave)
  • why.spc (Donkey Kong Country 3 - Cascade Capers [SNES, Unsampled])

... For all of the unfinished ones, I am highly unlikely to finish those any time in the future. As of this post, I am not currently porting anything right now. I probably won't for quite some time, unfortunately. Catch you all next time!

EDIT: Gah, I should really use Preview reply more. Typos everywhere!
So on one boring day on IRC, I abused VilelaBot and made this DKC mashup with it:

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/28007574/SPC/paste110.spc

I didn't really polish it, but I thought it was a pretty cool thing I thought I'd share with you guys.

I updated the list on the first post with the mashup. Check it out!

... As of this post, I am currently porting a song from Mighty Milky Way. Have a sample! http://dl.dropbox.com/u/28007574/SPC/AddMusicK/lava.spc
Oh god...
I love that mushup! Just speed up the tempo (150% in SPC700 Player) and it could be a cool star replacement. I love how you mixed the CC envelope with MM envelope. Just lovely <3
BTW cool SS percussion (Swanky's Swing, not stickerbrush)

That theme from Mighty Milky Way is one of your bests. I really like that saw/square sound and the use of Kirby samples here.

Can't wait for the final version.
I updated the list on the first post with a new port:

  • Final Fantasy IV - Toroian (Troian) Beauty, ToP Arrangement

Thanks a ton for the feedback man! Unfortunately, I haven't made any progress on that Mighty Milky Way port since my last post months ago, but I am here to post a filler SPC I made just now. I went back to listening to the FFIV soundtrack when I came across this song and thought, "Hey, this sounds a lot like Tales of Phantasia!" I ended up porting my first SNES-to-SNES song in quite a long time... well, unless you count the one I never finished with Grav. :U

Regardless, I hope you guys enjoy the new port!

Anyway, that arrangement sounds pretty awesome. I love the samples you used, and it sounds pretty calming. Good job!
I updated the list on the first post with a new port:

  • Mighty Flip Champs - Timed Stage

This song was actually a lot more difficult than I expected it to be, it took an additional 2 hours to add the rest of the song. Ah well, that's virt for you. Complex rhythms and a hella-catchy melody. I'm probably going to submit this one, so we'll see. Hope you all enjoy it!

Thanks a bunch, I was pretty happy with how it turned out too! The oboe actually went too high, so unfortunately I had to lower it an octave. Oh well!
I updated the list on the first post with a new port:

  • Super Mario Advance 2: Super Mario World - Select Menu

I thought it'd be fun to re-create this track in the SNES version of Super Mario World, so I did.

welp, here's the TXT if you're interested in using it. If you're using it in AM405, don't forget to add the header!
It's about time someone remade that track. I've always wanted to see an adaptation of it to the original SMW. Now we just need someone to code the menu itself.
