Good job Luigi370. That could be useful for some hacks, especially if you're trying to make something along the lines of DKC2 or 3.

I did some more work on the Giant Bony Beetle. Now it uses the extra bit, which determines whether or not it stays on ledges. If the extra bit is set, it will stay on ledges. As you can see, I also fixed the object clipping to 0E instead of 00.

Wow, I must say, that hack has an impressive set of ASM hacks! Nice name select, and the bosses look quite challenging, although, not impossible without slowdown or savestates. Just the way I like it! Well done.

Though, I must warn you. Posting such impressive work on here is probably going to get your PM Box spammed like crazy. You'll be covered in requests for bosses and other ASM related things. Hell, even I want someone to make me bosses.

Just a heads up. But again, good work.

This is impressive work. I'd love to see a finished product from start to finish of this. The coin boss is cool but that giant Phanto is impressive. How many sprite states did you use to create that. My guess is at least 8, maybe 10

Since it was a time of making "ASM" for the first time, it was carrying out by the very inefficient method.
There are about 14 kinds of "custom sprite" which appeared by the animation.

"Custom Boss" or "command Sprite which carried out special processing" under structure is neglected on other stages.

If you make a pointer, you can just create the same custom sprite with a different RAM table (such as $1510,x as it is only used in the falling platforms) each time instead of different sprites. I constantly do it with my sprites and it saves a lot of sprite list slots.



I wonder if Carol utilizes a similar trick to make his Brutal Mario custom sprites do different things in certain levels...

I've looked at Carol's sprites. Most times he uses the Extra Bit as a method of combining 2 sprites (except as far as I know, makes no effort to combine multiple projectiles). With things like projectiles it appears he uses multiple sprites rather than a single sprite under different states like I've been utilizing as of recent.



Wow. With that boss, you have officially taken boss coding to the next level. I really like all those attacks. Is the fireball that circles the sprite based off of roto-disc are something?

MetalJo, That's one of the first things in awhile that I have found interesting and not cliche. Looking really good, I love the variety instead of the usual:

>walks across the screen repeatedly
>hits it with something, repeat, nothing new
