Changing the Starman Music

I got everything clean, the program, the ROM, and the music. I'm just going to try CMD since that is what the tutorial asks to do. I'm using CMD but doesn't want to open it, even though I input the code exactly as the tutorial says, but nothing. Do I have to drag my ROM to the Addmusic?
no.

Just to clarify you followed these steps:
1) Put rom in "Addmusic" Folder
2) Put CMD in "Addmusic" folder
3) Put song (renamed as "Have Star") in MISC. folder
4) Open CMD
5) Type: addmusic romname.smc -se*
6) Open Lunar Magic and set level to Custom Music (Cannot be the original soundtrack)
7) Play Level
8) Get Star

*only needs -se if it's the first time inserting music
So remember kids! If you ever get caught having tosave a princess from a foreign land after getting dragged down a drain pipe, jumping while spinning in a circle can help you greatly by allowing you to jump on spinning saw blades, ghosts, and allow you to control your jump better!

I have completed first 4 steps as instructed, but every time I input the command code, it always reads "couldn't open the ROM file". This is what gives me the biggest headache.
Can you write the command here like you do and is giving problems? (or a picture)
Thats strange.
Check out my levels in SMM2, including a remake of my old hack "Super Mario Epic 2 DX". Maker ID: 1XL-B6V-N5G

Goodbye SMWCentral and happy hacking :)
Here is the CMD and the Addmusic folder.

That's not the same filename. Rename your ROM to something that doesn't contain spaces, enter exactly "Super Mario World.smc" (with the quotes) into cmd.

...and why do you have .bin files set to open with LM? No .bin file I've seen makes sense to open in LM. YY-CHR or a hex editor is the most fitting tool for those.

Edit: I obviously fail at BBCode. Fixed.

I did what you said and typed smw in my file, and it now reads and have completed every step. Now there is the problem of having the starman song I want it to play. It still plays the original tune. I did all the steps and everything is clean, unless I missed something.

That .bin file was there already. I did nothing to the addmusic folder, nor I rearrange anything, I just inserted CMD and a clean ROM.
For custom misc music (such as the star music) to play, you need to have custom normal music playing in the level. Might this be the cause?

Custom normal music? you mean like for example a DKC level music?

WOAH!!! it worked. I can hear the custom starman music, but it's too bad it can't be the same with original smw sound tracks already in it. Darn, but at least I got what I was looking for. Thanks all of you, and I know you guys tried hard for me, but I wish I can reward all you with something.
I believe there are disassemblies of SMW's original soundtrack (if not, they could easily be made). If you can find these just insert them and hey-presto... It's kind of a waste of rom space but oh well...

1) Download AddmusicK 1.0.5
Download link: https://www.smwcentral.net/?p=section&a=details&id=14717

2) Open up the music folder, go to "originals", select the "05 Starman" file, right click, click copy, and paste a copy of it on your desktop (just in case something messes up)

3) Open the "05 Starman" file, then minimize it.

4) Find the .txt file for the custom music that you want, open it, press Ctrl+A, then press Ctrl+C.

5) Go back to the "05 Starman" file, press Ctrl+A, then press backspace. Then, press Ctrl+V. You should see all of the contents from your custom music file.

6) Save the file, open AMKGUI, click "Add a song" on the side, find the "05 Starman" file, double click, then at the bottom click "Run", select your ROM, and eventually a message should appear telling you that there were no problems! (Unless there were problems, of course.)

7) Open your ROM in Lunar Magic, place a star, (unless you already have one) then save the ROM.

8) Run the ROM in your emulator, get to the level, collect the star, and there you go! It's that simple! Hope this helps :)
