It resets when you close the browser.
I've just had the same problem as Karatekid5. The entire site kind of went out for something about 30 seconds, displaying the error message he mentioned even after refreshing the page. Was this thing expected, Kieran?

It just happenned again when I clicked to preview this post, but now it displayed the message "no database selected".

I guess it has to do with the recent database switch thingamajig, but that's pretty much all I know :v

Actually posting here to say that I can not see the name and other data of the user who posted this reply.
I guess an image describes this better than I could with words:

Look at dat 'Last seen' and wow, that person made 3227 posts in 0 seconds since I opened that page!
Your layout has been removed.
It's HuFlungDu (ID 6666). For an unknown reason he no longer exists as a user. Trying to access his profile says 'The user/group does not exist or you don't have permission to view their profile.'

e: All is well now.
This one got messed up as well. Not as badly (and not a user we care about), but it's still weird.
<blm> zsnes users are the flatearthers of emulation
All is well.

What are you downloading? The site?

You may want to be more clear about when this occurs. If you're trying to download something linked by a user, that's not related to the site. Otherwise it's most likely an issue with McAfee being too cautious. In any case, I doubt anything here would harm your computer, as the mods would quickly notice and get rid of any links that could lead to something potentially harmful.
Most likely, a user's avatar or layout image is hosted on a domain that had a case or false positive virus, and is being overly sensitive.

Ah, false positive. Thanks guys, now I don't have to worry about downloading anything from SMWC.
Is this normal? (I'm talking about the wrong image for my rank)

to hear birds and see none.
I'm guessing it's a cache issue. Clear your browser cache and see if that does the trick. IIRC, you can do Ctrl+F5 for a cache-clearing reload in Firefox.

Yep, that was the problem, thanks.
As seen by this picture, the castle background and the ghost house border are cut off near and at the bottom. It seems to affect large pages, such as the Graphics Section.
Is this just me?
See two pages ago.
It's been around for a while and is extremely minor, but might as well point it out in case you ever decide to fix it: on a hack's page, if you scroll the screenshots at all and then scroll back to the furthest left possible position with your mouse, the leftmost 2-or-so columns of pixels of the first screenshot get cut off and cannot be scrolled back into view. On the other hand, scrolling all the way to the other side will have an extra 2-or-so pixel wide area of empty space past the final screenshot on the right.

Basically it appears the screenshot scroller doesn't compensate for cell padding.
(not that two pixels is that big of a deal, it's just that this site isn't 100% perfect in every way and it obviously should be!!exclamation marks!!!)
May we meet again outside the battlefield.
