Good-loooking hack here! You out-done you :D
Wow! Pretty awesome looking graphics here! Can these bob-ombs destroy the cement blocks or how do you reach those coins?
My Youtube-Channel

Currently working on: nothing *eyes roll*
Awesome as always. Like I said on Twitter:
"thanks for being a source of inspiration to me, my friend!"
Thanks for the comments, guys :3

@Urtegurke: yes, the cement blocks can be destroyed with bob-omb explosions.

Well, I'm drawing the forest FG and I wanted to know how do you think it is:

That's all for now, comments?

One thing that I forgot to say on my last posts: I must give some credit to JowTH for convincing me to back to smw hacking :P

Aw. You're welcome, bro.

Also, awesome work (and GFX, too) is awesome, so, KEEP IT UP!

P.S.: Dat shading.
I like how the forest tileset is shaping up... there's obviously nothing overly fancy on it right now, since it seems to be in its very early stages, but I have no doubt you will come up with some exotic decoration for it eventually. :)

I really love the looks of the rest of the hack, too. The graphics are just mind-boggling, and are quite possibly one of the best I have seen in quite a while. I especially like how they were used in the overworld. They do certainly add some extra spice to it.

Keep up the good work, can't wait to see how the forest tileset will turn out. :)
Wow, it looks really nice dude. I really like the look of it. If you do some new forest decoration, it'll be a very nice tileset.
To make sure everything is going smoothly, why not show us some level design in the form of video. Maybe that airship level or something else you completed.
I wonder what a HFD opcode would do in ASM...
Thanks a lot for the feedback, guys :3

As TLMB suggested, I'll post a video from level 2-4, here it is:

le Video
Le cool. I really like this Bob - Omb gimmick. I think thhe koopa GFX doesn't fit very well. It's shell looks very cool but normal koopa isn't. Try to change it.

Anyway nice job.
The level looks beautiful, except for the current scrolling cloud GFX on layer 3, they kinda clash with the style and look cluttered in a bad way. Now beyond aesthetics, I can't say the level design is too good. I think the foundation is solid, but could use some more sprites to add in more action. MY suggestion would be some bomb dropping albatrosses or a modified SMB-styles lakitu that drops bombs, maybe you could have a pipe generating some bob-ombs. Use one of those in conjuction with some stretches of destroyable land, you'll have some sort of action.

all in all, it has potential, the side areas are fine, the main level just needs more action/

Looks really nice. I agree about the sprites. There could be a bit more of them. Also, I'm not sure about the music. Am I also the only who thinks the SMB3 music isn't the best choice? It's fine but there probably would be some songs that would fit better.
Thanks for the comments... :D

@Luigi370: Well, I think that koopa looks strange because my palettes don't fit with the gfx, anyway, I will try to do something...

@TLMB: About the scrolling clouds, I'll see what I can do, I'm not too good drawing clouds, lol. And about the level design, I liked your idea of pipes generating bob-ombs, I'll change it a bit.

@Wormer21: No, SMB3 music isn't the best choice :P I'm still looking for a better athletic music, it would be awesome if I could use nsmb athletic theme. Anyway, I will keep looking for a better music.

Now I have some screenshots, from world 6-3:

That gfx. That Level Design... is breath-taking!

also, nep, daqui pra frente, você me mostra as screens pelo twitter, antes de postar, please?
Nice job like always, nep-enut! You could add some decoration, it looks a bit empty to me.

Also, I don't like too much the GFX style of some sprites, not that I hate the Redrawn sprites, it's just that I don't think that the koopa fits well with the other sprites.(the goomba is OK)
Wow; that level is looking great and very well designed; though I do agree that it looks somewhat empty.

It's looking real fun to play though. Nick Work.

I should have something witty to put here (even if it's just to update dated info), shouldn't I?

1.) You can get a lot more mileage out of your GFX by changing the palette (and even shifting around the BGs) to them for each level. Doing so can also easily allow the graphics to impose a different setting or atmosphere for the player to take in.

2.) Don't show everything in your video showoffs. Just the bare basics should suffice and leave the rest for the player to find out on their own.

3.) Additionally, don't fool around in your levels trying to do simple things. If you can't get it right the first time and it's not required to beat the level, forget about it and (again) let the player do it themselves.

Wow, Nep-Enut, this hack is 100% awesome!

How did you do all of this in your world 1 castle?

11/10 For the castle.

I'll be following this.
Just so you know, I'm very active on the site anymore like I was before; I'm mainly on Discord now.
Your name has echoed across the forums and IRC in particular as someone who can really dish out quality levels. From what I'm seeing, you have no disappointed on this front. In particular, I'm loving what I'm seeing with the recent mountain level there. Those bowling ball sprites can be incredibly cool if they're used creatively, and it looks like you're pulling this off well.

Can't wait to play this when it is finished.
Wow, this hack is getting amazing!
