Skyward Sword

Videos and reviews look promising. IGN gave the game a 10/10 but I've heard that ITN get bribed all of the time. Other reviews seem fairly positive, and it seems relatively few people have. Omplained about the controls.

I'll be playing it at some point... Lots of stuff to do, my dad will get first dibs at playing it, but he works night shifts during the week so I'll get a good amount of quality time.

Im a little perplexed though that Skyrim got a 9.5 while Skyward sword got a 10...
Oh, it is so on.

From what I've heard, it seems to be a REALLY good game. People say that it is probably the best zelda game in a long time. Even though it is on the Wii, it doesn't feel gimmicky (rare for a wii game). Motion controls are used fully and appropriately. Even GameInformer gave it a 10/10, and GameInformer generally rates things fairly. I would get it, but sadly, my wii was sold some time ago.

I already played 30-ish hours so far, and I'm convinced.
This is one of the best Zelda games ever made!
I love it and I'm fully addicted to it.
The dungeons are fun the sidequests are good, the partner this time around is amazing, and so is the story!

Recommendation? No.
Must play? Fuck yes.

... Meh. Maybe it's because I haven't gotten the chance to play more then about a couple of hours so far (I just got the Goddess Sword then had to stop for schoolwork), but (at first, at least) the game is just... Okay. The swordplay is GREAT, it's really just... Maybe I need to take some time to get used to controlling the Loftwing. (that's what those bird things are called, right?)
Good fucking bye.

A lot of people, myself included, consider the first few hours of the game to be slow and pretty boring. After the first dungeon, the game starts to get better, and after the second dungeon (around the 8 hour mark for me), the game gets great.

From what I have heard, you don't use the LoftWing extensively.

From my 2-3 hours playing, I LOVE the controls and I have a feeling they have done a HUGE amount of neat things with the Motion Plus controls. However, the beginning, although mostly well-scripted, is very 'you're the hero here' your weapon here are the controls here is your first quest'. Also, this first area, Concealed Lands or whatever it was, appears EXTREMELY linear and restrictive. Perhaps I feel that may because I'm also playing Skyrim atm, and Skyrim is so amazingly open, or because I'm still thinking of TP and OoT being large and open.
Oh, it is so on.
I just completed the second temple, and I have to say I'm extremely impressed. I've managed to clock in a whopping 11 hours as I've managed to scour out every possible heart piece, and work on every single side quest I can at the point I am in the game. I'm really glad this is taking as long as it is, because I did not want to rush this game at all.

I'm on my way to the 5th dungeon. Double Clawshots all the way baby.

This excites me.

Is anybody else having trouble getting thrusts to register? Every other sword move has been working great for me , except thrusting and I think I'm doing something wrong maybe...
Oh, it is so on.
I've also found thrusts to be a bit difficult. I've noticed they register a lot better if you thrust very lightly though.

It's getting to the point right now where I'm so sick of having treasure/bug descriptions show up (and Fi's low heart/shield meter/batteries/full wallet warnings) that I'm leaving my Wii on overnight so I don't have to deal with them when I start up the game again.

#1 complaint with the game.

Ah, so I'm not the only one. There's actually a gossip stone that says something in a sort of insulting way to people who complain about this indirectly, saying:
"Rumor has it you're some sort of genius that remembers everything people tell you the first time."
Found on Eldin Volcano.

Also, Groose is my favorite character in the game.
I hate Groose. I love Fi. I want to embrace her.

As my layout.

But later.

I'm around 20 hours in and just unlocked the path into the temple behind the water dragon. It's safe to say this is my favourite Zelda game ever.
Fi is my least favorite partner in the Zelda series. I hate how she pops up so frequently to tell you things that are blatantly obvious to the player. She even forgets what a boss door is at one point IIRC. I find it amazing that people on other Zelda boards will still complain about Navi, who wasn't even that bad, but say that Fi was amazing as a partner. It makes my gorge rise.

I think I like Groose solely for his hair.

Favorite character is Gorko <3.
I love it.
Aside form the dungeons being wierd/hard at some points.
The good thing about this game is that the beamos are SO much easier. Those things in twilight princess are able to kill me in a fraction of a second. Also, the items are SO good. But I miss the gorons, as there is only one in this game...

Favorite character? Ledd.
Nixon's the one.
Right.

So after I entered the mini-boss of the 4th dungeon, my Wiimote batteries ran out, and the game crashed. I can only hope that this is a game programming error and not my disc, because then I'll be a sad, sad person.

Navi wasn't that...

HEY! HEY! LISTEN!
Good fucking bye.
I got to the mini-boss of the fourth dungeon too. I beat him. Also, my Wii is almose, like, five or four years old, so it made my disk really blotchy, and it gets dust on it a lot. So every 5-30 minutes , I have to take it out and clean it, which is a pain.

Navi didn't stop you nearly as much as Fi does. I imagine most people that talk about Navi being annoying haven't played Ocarina of Time in a long time, because she doesn't talk much at all. I mean, yeah, she was bad in the Great Deku Tree, but Fi is basically like that throughout the entire game, and this is a 30+ hour game.

You'd think by the fifth dungeon I'd be able to figure out where I need to go on my own, without being told that there's an 85% probability that I need to go there.

Also, just beat the game 100% a few minutes ago (100% as in, beat the game a first time, beat it a second time, and then got every collectible in that second run). Combined playtime was 62:15. I'm actually tempted to play it a third time because I love this game so much. I'd be more willing to replay Skyward Sword again, despite its length, over some other shorter Zelda games like The Wind Waker and Ocarina of Time.

Going to miss SS :(.
I can't find out how to get to the second generator. I swore to myself that I wouldn't use any walkthroughs, though, so I think I might be stuck for a while.
