Mario looks old to me. Anyways, I liked the FG. Keep the work up, anonimato!

that creepy-ish smile in the block is intended? just asking.
Yellow Switch Palace of my side hack

Again, it's vanilla (aside of the music) :P
@Masterlink: Hey, I really liked it, especially the gimmick in this level. Well done.

Well, I have a screenshot to show you...

I tried to do another underwater/cave bg using original graphics and this is the result.

Comments?
Lunatic wolf, I love it. It oozes creativity and pure delicious vanilla-ness, its simplicity is what makes it shine. (I'd like to see how it'd look if one of those layers were put on layer 3, but that would ruin the vanilla flavor).

I liked the switch palace MAsterlink, thought I'd personally edit the enemy room to match the other rooms more appropriately.
I wonder what a HFD opcode would do in ASM...
I'm making a nice little entry for the
Strawberry “Short and Sweet” Level Design Contest, I thought I'd share what I've got so far here. With that, here is a preview of Gossamer Grove!

@andy_k_250: Wow that is great! Awesome work =D Where it says on, is that the on/off switch indicator?

Check Out This Video Yo!

Yes, exactly. I think it's a cool little feature even though it's pretty unnecessary. Patch is in the patches section.

Funny enough, I don't see those "turnblock pits" used often in hacks. This is a good use of one, although the constant chances for reset minimize the troubleshooting a bit. I think it would be more fun to have to go for secret exits, necessary items, alternate paths, or ending up at the bottom with a reset or a boring crappy exit that gives you nothing, or a really hard path through the rest of the level. That's just me though.

As I said before, Andy. It looks really polished and nice. Well done.

Woah!
Impressive work there Andy!

I really like the Item Box having that "shine" to it.
The running sound effect is a great touch.
:3
Nice work Andy! I really like that. I like the run meter a lot for some reason haha good job.
What they said. One suggestion, can you change the color of the running thingy? It's kind of hard to see.
Example:
> > > > > >P|Not running
>>>>>>P|Running
>>>>>>P|Suggestion for running
soundcloud / bandcamp / twitter / buy/stream my EP / buy my touhou music / buy my NEW album!!!
Nice status bar you got there! I'd only suggest to change the colour of these full triangles to ie. red.
I made this video to show off my first custom music port, but it also shows what I ended up doing with the P-Meter appearance when filled/not filled. I think it works nicely. It's not red, but I'd rather it not be, anyway. The gray works well because it should show up nicely in most levels, whether the background is dark or light.

I should have something witty to put here (even if it's just to update dated info), shouldn't I?

Yeah, I feel grey shading works better with status bars if you're looking to make your SB look better than normal most for those reasons you mentioned. The music seems alright for a first port, though I'm no expert on the stuff in any case.

One question I do have is what are you using to record your videos to be YouTube friendly? It's obviously not ZSNES because that doesn't emulate SMW's SFX correctly. (I've been looking into switching from recording in ZSNES for the past few months now.

omg i'm actually doing stuff with my hack:

Yeah I know it looks a bit boring right now but eh....
@reghrhre: It is... sexy. Haha, great work, I love the status bar, and awesome graphics =D

Thanks for the feedback!

I started using SNES9X this week. It's really easy -- there is an export to avi option under File. I chose Microsft [something] 1 -- it outputs somewhat large files (this 30 second video was about 40 MB) but you can definitely see a difference in quality.

@reghehrehrehrhehrhehrehrhehrere - Beautiful as always. Your screenshots are always some of my favorites. That FG is great. Did you make it or is it ripped? It reminds me of Wonder Boy. I like the status bar too -- is it blacked out via the graphics or some DMA trickery?

EDIT: Heck, where is that BG from, too?
