Errrg, I do not know why the BG glitched in Kamboomba Isle... Was it like that as soon as you entered the level?

And about Toad Town: I am not sure how to insert NPC's =/ I have been trying to figure it out, but I haven't had any luck. Also I still need to add a BG for Toad Town, just realized heh.

Also sorry about that blind jump =l should of had some coins directing you.

Totally forgot to put a message before the Mouser boss about the bullet bills >_< Gotta do that, isn't fair at all to the player not knowing about that. And I am not going to use Hammer Bros and such in K.I.M.'s castle or Bob's Castle, because they do not seem to like to stay above the regular pathway for some reason, and that annoys me.

And I will change the palettes up a bit for the distasteful looking levels. Well thank you for pointing these things out! I will be sure to fix them right away.

Yeah I gotta fix some things heh. A lot of problems with the demo I did not even notice >_< I am doing to need to get a couple of testers for next time. I have fixed probably about half of the problems so far, so bare with me. I also still need to figure out why it freezes when I save or when I get the game over screen, could somebody help me with that I desperately need help fixing that most of all, because I have no idea why that is happening. Send me a PM if you can help me out with the freezing problem possibly, and I will send you an IPS of First Strike.

After several stressful hacking nights, I finally solved the saving problem dilemma!! Apparently either some patch or sprite I inserted was really screwing with the ROM (or it could have been Terra Stripe possibly, I used that before this started happening...) But now finally I can can start working on it again woo!!! I am so happy! #w{xD} Anyways, I just got done with the base of the Ancient Caves and here is a screen shot =D



Don't mind the screwed up edges of the OW, I have to fix those through Terra Stripe... Better yet, could someone do me a favor? Could someone make a OW Border for me? That would be so awesome I would really appreciate it =D Also I would definitely give credit.

So I just recorded a fail review of this game. I don't mean you failed I mean I died a lot stupidly. But yeah I only did the first world for reasons mentioned in the video but it's certainly isn't all negative. I do really like aspects of the hack there is just a few things I point out. Idk the video probably really sucks but I'll post it on here tomorrow if you are interested. I'll probably end up uploading it anyway though lol.

Also everyone Ancient Cave World is on hold so I can fix the previous problems mentioned. Also I am working on diddyboy100's OW right now too, but I should be getting back to the hack soon! Also I think I am going to get rid of the Metroid HP Patch, because it makes the game too easy. But I will have to revamped the levels too because there aren't many places where you can get mushrooms and power-ups, which that is the main thing I am going to have to add to the levels, nothing big. I can't wait until I finally finish this hack I am so excited =D

I still want to do a full LP of it if you could please include save points. I don't think I did it enough justice with the video but I was rushing and not paying attention at times and especially the scrolling part of the first castle, that wall just scared me lol. Getting rid of the Metroid patch? I pretty much needed it lol. Also could you give me a hint on the secret exit of the 3rd level? Thanks.

That would be cool =D Haha, and yeah I will put save points, I had to get rid of them in the demo because every time someone would save it would freeze, but now that is fixed =D And about the Metroid HP Patch, I think that was the reason why it was freezing, but that was because I didn't set the address to the right spot the first time and I just ignore it, which was a bad idea. So yeah I will still have that patch I just need to change a couple of things. And for the secret exit... Grab the key near the Midway Point. Go back to the part where all of those turn block coin blocks are. There should be an albatoss there if you haven't killed it on your way through. Now make it so that the albatoss will fly towards the beginning of the level. DO NOT TAKE THE COIN YOU SEE LINED UP WITH THE CEMENT BLOCKS... because that will royally screw you on getting to the secret exit lol. But anyways get up on top of the cement blocks surronding the pipe using the albatoss, then hit the P-Switch which will turn the coin into a block then slide through the opening of the cement block wall and go down the pipe with the key. And there you go ta-da! =D haha. Anyways thanks for the review!

And also one last thing, Should I use the Metroid HP Patch or the RPG HP Patch?? Which is better? Comments about this would be muuuuch appreciated!

EDIT: I just watched the video and I feel like the boss shouldn't be invisible, I felt like a dick haha. But yeah no invisible bosses that is shady for the player's experience. Hopefully after I am done with Ancient Cave World my hack will be sparkling with no shitty stuff.

Well I didn't mean to insult, it wasn't really shitty. You could maybe use an invisible boss somewhere later but I don't even know if that should even be a late game thing. It's all just constructive to make a better overall hack so to help you out you know. And me enjoying the hack more of course. To be honest I think a variation of the SMB2 hearts or something would be the best. Maybe put a few more hearts than e-tanks scattered about. I say this because well this is a Mario game and a hit is a hit unless of course you are going to make enemies do different damage, if you didn't it's no big deal simple is possibly better for a Mario game but if you did of course that's cool and detail appreciative (if that made any sense lol). Anyway thanks for watching. Once it's done I will redo the first episode to start the let's play of it.

Nah do not worry you didn't insult, I just realized I really need to fix some things haha. I will make it sparkly clean for the first actual LP. Also I kinda think I should shape up the desert levels, but eh I will think about that, first thing that needs to be done a bit more is world 1 and 2. World 3 I will worry about later when I am done shaping up the first 2 worlds. Also I am going to hide an extra HP container somewhere in world three =3

Just put the image tags around that bad boy and there you go! Also I am adding a lot of new GFX to my hack, and I am adding NPC's now to Toad Town. I do not think I am going to make actual cutscenes, but I wanted to have something like that... Anyways that comes to my question, is there a really easy way to make cutscenes? Like just making Mario teleport to different levels with tiles of letters in each level he goes to, and make it so he can teleport by pressing a certain button? Is that possible? If so please tell me =D Not much to comment on here, but ya know you could comment on the userbar... you know you want to ;D

This cave has multiple pathways, but none of them are dead ends, except for one that leads to a Yoshi Coin. But yeah all the paths vary in difficulty, nothing too hard though.

The submap looks kind of empty. You should add some decorations.
As for the rest of the level, it's looking really nice, although it appears to lack enemies. Overall it's looking pretty good.

Well, I am pretty much done with this level now. But before I put any screenies of it or a video, I need some help. What color do you think I should use for the FG? I will also have to change the palettes of the sub-map, keep that in mind, since I want the level FG's palettes and the sub-map palette to be the same. So any suggestions please? I was thinking maybe a charcoal or maybe brown, but eh seems too plain, unless you think that would look good? Comments on this would be much appriciated =D Sorry about no content for this post, just needed some help deciding.

BAM! New Overworld =D I made it today. How does it look? I am kinda iffy about it, but eh I am picky about OWs lol. So, let us get to some more updates!


SMB2 Mario =) I did not know the graphics were submitted to the site, if I did, I would have added them a long time ago.


I got rid of the Metroid Health Patch and added the SMB2 Health Patch, because the Metroid one seemed like it was making the levels too easy... Also BEHOLD. Brick blocks =D No more turn blocks, I hated those things haha.


I dunno if I showed these mushroom graphics but yeah, there you go lol.


Yup, I added the question blocks from the SMW Beta to the hack, I love them.


I also added OW coins, woo! Haha.

Also you know how I have worked my way all the way up to World 3? Yeah I am only keeping World 1. The reason for this, it seems to me that all of the levels beyond World 1 were rushed, so I want to do them over. I felt as though I did a pretty good job with World 1 so that is why I am doing this. Also I am now adding a sky world, once I get some Sub-map Sky Graphics. Anyway what do you guys think? Comments much appreciated =D

Also I used the level Donut Plains 1 to show the other updates if anybody was wondering why it looks familiar haha.

Nice work camoslash! Love the overworld of course, hard to believe it only took you a day. Switching to the SMB2 Heath Patch was a good move as well. I like the beta graphics as well. Since you know how to put regular coins in the OW (unless it's not hard idk lol) maybe you could put the keyhole icon and maybe even dragon coins as well. Really helps with those ghost houses that idk if you'll even be using. Although I kinda do miss the "blueness" of the original hud lol. Not that big of a deal though. Just my random ideas, really looking forward to the new version.
