Your Favorite Hack

What is your favorite complete SMW hack that you have played so far and why? (cant be your own hack)
The Second Reality Project Reloaded by FPI. What he basically did was take the original TSRP, which was a great vanilla hack but didn't have custom GFX, music, or a custom overworld, and add new graphics and music into it. It has creative and innovative level design, an almost perfect difficulty curve, well hidden and interesting secrets, and amazing custom music and GFX that were made specifically for the hack, most by FPI himself.

Although it doesn't have the creative puzzles and dark tone of Mario's Keyatastrophe, the crazy bonuses of The Essence Star, the amazing ASM of Brutal Mario, the intriguing storyline of The Legend of the Rift: Earth, the sheer insanity of A Super Mario Thing, or the incredible level variety of SMWC, it is the most complete feeling and the most well designed hack that I have ever played. (Although I also love all the others that I listed there) However, the way that TSRP2R and SMWCP2 are looking so far, I think that they might end up topping it.
Vip5. People seem to call it boring, but it was actually (of course there were plenty of exceptions, but still) really fun for me.
Good fucking bye.

tsrp was a great hack for sure! I think personally i would have to go with brutal mario just because the custom bosses were all great. i love boss battles. It would be awsome to see a hack with nothing BUT boss battles
The Second Reality Project Reloaded, I would have to say. Rarely does a hack pull off a consistently beautiful look while having solid and challenging level design that doesn't rely on a thousand different chocolate gimmicks that feel out of place in a Mario environment.

Honorable mention goes to Luigi's Adventure and Rise to the Challenge. I loves me some difficult hacks, and both of these titles deliver plenty of that along with not being ugly (well, LA has some bad palettes, but still) and not straying too far from what Mario is all about.
SMW2+3: The Essence Star. It had a good variety of graphics, ASM, and music, the levels were designed interestingly enough, and most of all, it wasn't annoyingly difficult. (Admittedly, the nonlinearity of it still tempted me to savestate-spam, though...) Nobody yet has made a hack that I REALLY like, but SMW2+3 is at least the closest. I wish it had had more than 42 levels.

I'm working on a hack! Check it out here. Progress: 64/95 levels.
My favorite hack would have to be SMW2+3: The Essence Star (With Super Mario World Master Quest 8 close behind) I just recently played through SMW 2+3 and it was really fun. Hacks that make great use of custom stuff; while managing to stay organized and make it fit well together seem to be my kind of hacks.

TSRPR is pretty great as well as SMW2+3. It's hard to say what's my favourite hack because I played hundreds of them.

Also, VIP5 isn't boring. It's pretty fun and has some nice gimmicks. The only thing I disliked is the difficulty. It was sometimes insane and annoying.
The english version of Brutal Mario. I finally understand the awesomeness haha. Great Bosses, that was my favorite part of it was the bosses.

VIP 5
I haven't really played many SMW hacks, but from those that I played I'm very certain that my favorite is Vip4. I just love the goofy graphics, the sometimes weird level design gimmicks and that it's just extremely different from any other hack I've seen so far (except for the other Vips, of course). Sure there are some quite crappy levels, but that doesn't make the hack any worse for me, in fact, I for some reason actually like that.
I'm not saying Vip5, although I had fun playing it too, because I like something about Vip4's overall level design better than Vip5's. I'm not sure what exactly it is, though.

How very interesting.

Anyways, Mario Gives Up 2 is like so close that it might as well be tied with Vip5. That was really fun to play through, especially with the overworld of the first 5 or so worlds. (it gets disturbingly simple starting with the forest world :/)
Good fucking bye.
VIP Mario 4. For some reason I enjoyed it more than VIP Mario 5.

Panic in the Mushroom Kingdom and VIP Mario 2 come in a close second.
Wow. I expected people to vote for TSRPR and The Essence Star, but not Vip4 and Vip5. I thought that Japanese hacks were unpopular here, because of the clashing GFX and unfocused level design. Still, I agree that the later Vips are a lot of fun. I'm playing through Vip5 right now.
I think it's nothing suprising that many people also like VIP4 and VIP5. I also enjoyed them. The only level I don't like is a level made of flunchers, ugh. Not sure it was VIP4 but I think there was a cave with a lot of floating and stacked munchers which looked weird.
Mine is the demo of "Mario's long tavelling" created by teo17.

lol

Anyway, If I can't say VIP 5, it would be VIP 4 or Brutal Mario. If I can't say that it would probably be "the secret of the golden statues". Also:

1. VIP 5
2. VIP 4
3. Brutal Mario
4. The secret of the golden statues
5. The secondary reallity project - reloded
My favorite hacks:

- A Super Mario Thing
- An SMWC Production
- Luigi's Adventure OSE
- Luigi's Adventure 3 OSE
- Super Demo World: The Legend Continues
- Super Mario Infinity
- Super Mario Infinity 2
- SMW Master Quest
- SMW Master Quest 5
- The Second Reality Project 2
- The Second Reality Project Reloaded
Your layout has been removed...NOT! :D

I think my favourite hack overall was the not very popular Quest on Full Moon Island. I think the hack is extremely underrated. It has all aspects that a hack should have for me. Besides that I liked ASMT and ASMWCP pretty much and I'm looking forward to their sequels.
