Facebook

Does any of you have facebook?
(I dont need name or something.)Let's see how many will answer ''Yes''.

(it's actually a pretty cool band from the 70s)

edit: also, you could post other stuff too: opinions about Facebook, how often do you use it, etc.

Personally, I find FB pretty cool, I check it almost daily, most of my classmates/friends use it. It pretty much killed MSN/Iwiw, but times are changing. I like it better than the earlier ones, because it's user friendly, pretty fast (for me) and veeeery large.
Yes. I have it set so only friends of friends can add me as a friend, so if you can't add me and you want to, please send me a Private Message.

I've also set it so only friends can find me in the search box. Both settings are to prevent idiots from school tracking me down and adding me just so they can harass me.Free counters!
actually, i do, but it's "fake" (my SMWC facebook)

my "real" facebook (i won't accept friend requests, though)
i just lurk sometimes
I do indeed have one. I won't post it here though, as I prefer to keep it for friends I know in real life. Also, my Facebook would remove all the mystery about me! That would be boring. It's a guilty pleasure, I feel so unhip and mainstream when I use it.

My Skype and the IRC is for internet friends. Plus these jazzy PMs we get on this site.
Yeah I have one. I don't play games on it what so ever.I just post in the My Little Pony Group. Some ass from Texas and Chicago are hacking me with Mozilla FireFox. It sneds this shit spam to my friends.
Carlos Koopa
Not my real last name but it sounds better. I type with all seriousness and don't add my friends as family members.
No. There's just no reason for me to register there, and I don't really like writing personal information about me on the internet anyway.
I don't have one, I don't see the point on chatting online with people I know IRL when I can see them in person, and if I really want to talk to them when they're not with me, I can simply phone them.
I have facebook, but like some of the post here, I only accept friends I know in RL. (Or people I like)

Honestly I don't care for facebook. I don't know what people find so great about it to be honest.
My Youtube Channel for Hacking and Gaming.
Yes.

I use it for talking to friends, and that's pretty much it. FB games are well-known to suck and no one cares about your location or status unless it's funny (at least, that's how it seems to me).

Don't bother adding me, because if I don't know who you are, I'll deny your request.
My brother set me up an Facebook account, and I absolutely HATE IT. Whatever happened to internet anonymity?
I have it mainly to keep track of family members and friends I don't see anymore. I very rarely use the Chat function. Also, I have only about 60 friends (the lower the number, the better you can manage your friends list).

SMWC users I have on Facebook: one. It isn't that I dislike the rest of you--it's just that I want to keep this part of my identity mostly separate.
I do, as well. Most of my friends in there consist of a bunch of people who scarcely talk to me in real life but consider me friends with them for whatever bizarre motive.

Here's a link to it, in case you are interested (I hope I don't regret doing this). Please take in mind that I am bound to deny friend requests from people who I have never talked to or whose existence I have never heard of.

I do sometimes use Facebook to talk to friends, or to link music I like but that's all I use Facebook for. No stupid games or whiny statuses.
SMWC Facbook account I just made for those of you who are friend whores.
I'd much rather talk to someone through Skype or IRC, so don't expect to see me on Facebook much.
Yes. Believe it or not, my parents made me get a facebook. Crazy, right?
yes
Your layout has been removed.
I have one, but I barely use it besides keeping up with friends. Recent changes made Facebook turn to shit, and the user interface is seriously inconvenient all around. It's a real shame too. Myspace was very similar, and it steadily became more and more corrupt. Facebook is following a similar trend. It won't be long before a new social networking site comes around to bring back the "basic" and "friend oriented" style Facebook was known for a few years ago.

And then marketing companies and advertising bureaus will scoop that up too.

This is so true. When I first got Facebook a few years ago, it was easy to use because it let me make all the decisions about my Wall. Then, the font size went from twelve to ten inches, and the font changed to something less readable. And then, the Wall style changed to listing work and location information above pictures of oneself. That wasn't too bad, but I started feeling like I had no control over anything. But it was when "13375P34K" was added to the Facebook language options that I lost all faith in the social network and its 'progress' toward 'convenience' and 'user-friendliness'.

Not to mention that Facebook did away with the whole "secure connection" thing. (The whole "https" versus "http" thing.)

It's still there, but they disabled the automatic secure connection and hid the option where most people wouldn't look.
I'm registered on Facebook, and I've posted my account here before as more of a "trust test" (and those who I -do- have as friends from here are actually quite close). It's nice, because as soon as anyone tries to sabotage my wall or something, it's just a matter of deleting their post + defriending them.

As for my thoughts on it .. good concept, but people use it all wrong. There is nothing more pathetic than watching people who I used to know whine about their boyfriend/life/etc. garbage. Really, I try to avoid using it these days.
