Here.
After 32 seconds the song repeats... ignore the repeat and comment on what you heard then.

EDIT: Also note that this is my first port which I maybe can finish.

It would really help if the @1 and @4 ADSR had a lower attack, because the abrupt hitting of the instrument kind of ruins the mood of the song.

Overall, though, this isn't half bad. Good luck, and I look forward to the final draft.

Eh, sure. Why not? Kaizo hacking doesn't seem too ha-aaaaaaand I broke the ROM.
Live A Live - Nice Weather Ain't it!

God it was so hard to choose the instruments + ADSR for this one. I'm quite satisfied with this version, though, what do you think? Any suggestions/criticism are welcome.
ps: also, ignore the fact that it doesn't loop correctly.

The bass seems to clash with the piano in places. Maybe you should lower it an octave and change it to @8.

Okay, I finally got something good to show off. DKC -Simian Segue (World Map).
@GravityxHammah: It sounds good overall, but the @5 (I think it is) playing in the lower octaves can kind of clash with the song.

I personally have something to show off from my hack. I was designing and came across my first bonus room! So I decided to throw this together in under an hour (record time for me! :D).

New Super Mario Bros. - Bonus Room
I think you would put the bass in another channel; the bass is one of the most important things of a song. If Mario jumps, the bass goes away for a second and comes back, and I think that clashes the song.
Your layout has been removed.
I put the bass on #7 because I have the $1DF9 (I think) SFX Remapper Patch installed, and I don't have to worry. I'd switch the @14 and @8 if I were to actually release it, putting the @14 on #7 (probably can't even hear it well without headphones) and @8 elsewhere.
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 - Endless Mine
I submitted a port of this around a year ago and it wasn't accepted, so I decided to re-port it and fix it up. So far, I have this. I'm good on the main melody, but I need some tips for instrumentation. I don't ADSR and I'm okay with samples.
Here's the original. The Genesis uses a lot of synth-sounding samples, so it'd be hard to emulate without ADSR.
That Endless Mine port still needs some work, KK. There are several wrong notes in the beginning, and @14 would probably sound better as a bass. The drums also need to be stronger. I can barely hear them, and Sonic music tends to have strong percussion.

A composition I recently "finished". It's called "Burning Waters".

This particular song isn't as big on the drums, but I'll work on fixing them anyway. It'll bring some power to the song the original had anyway. I'm already working on the end looping and those notes, but I wanted some help with the instrumentation. There is already a channel using @14, so are you referring to the channel using @5?

As I opened the file... Bricks were shat.

I'd like to know if the "wave" sound is sampled or not? (It sounds sampled but judging from the song overall it seems vannilla.)

No, I wasn't, but that channel does need work since some of the notes are wrong. You don't need to change instruments though.

@imamelia: I think it sounds very strange. Sometimes I felt some instruments being out of place and out of harmony. I didn't like the way you used them in some parts. Clashy, I would say. But heck, you've said "finished", I guess this means you'll work on it a bit more to improve.

For those who were questioning about the "wave" sound: it's a regular SMW instrument, but that uses noise effect.

Now I want to show to everybody my new entry for the Idol:

The Medieval Tunnel (TXT/SPC/BNK included).

Why am I posting this here? It's especially because it's my first experience using a sample bank ($E5 command). I'm wanting opinions about it. Oh, and it's a remix of the following songs: Super Mario World - Castle, Mega Man X 3 - Tunnel Rhino's Stage (Quarry Deposit). Hope you like it!

It's $F8 in AddmusicM, though I'm not sure if imamelia actually used it when he made this. It's not really a "sample" per se, but rather, as Blind Devil said, the noise filter. I actually made a port from Cat Planet that relied on it, so if you want to see how it works, you can check out the TXT here.

Also, that's pretty awesome there Blind Devil. I've never been much of a fan of X3's music, but you really made a spiffy remix here. It'll take a lot for Moose (it is Moose who is facing you, right?) to beat it.
Thanks for the feedback, S.N.N. I'm glad that you liked it!

Yes, that channel uses the noise effect, although the music is made for Addmusic 4.05, not AddmusicM.

@Blind Devil: What exactly is clashy about it? Also, nice remix. Tunnel Rhino's theme is one of my least favorites in the entire Mega Man X series, but you actually managed to make it sound pretty cool.

@imamelia: Thanks!

Well, about your song, what I meant to be clashy is the way you used some instruments. To be more exact, when the playing time is in between 0:41 and 0:50, the orchestra hits and the maraca don't sound good to me; I felt it out of place. But this's my only complaint. Just fixing this will make it sound nicer in overall. As for the rest, I like the way it is.

Wait...I thought Addmusic 4.05 couldn't use the noise command? I seem to remember all Addmusics except M auto-disabling noise except when a sound effect was playing.

Anyway, I think the "clashiness" is just due to how @4 and @17 work together...or how they don't. They're both really harsh-sounding instruments, so getting them to cooperate can be tough. Which is a shame, because I kind of like the feeling it gives off; the slight dissonance it seems to produce would make it fit an evil sort of level well. ...actually, I think the problem might be the noise channel. It seemed to sound better after disabling it.

Also, I noticed a few times where you forgot to shut off the vibrato on channels #2 and #3...unless you meant to leave it on, of course.
I should get a new layout.

Probably won't, though.
