Your top 5 favorite video games and why

5. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

Come at me bro! I love this game. The gameplay is fast-paced, and even when it's not, it's still impressive. The graphics were very enjoyable and the music (by Hans Zimmer) was amazing.

4. Ratchet and Clank 3: Up Your Arsenal

This was one of the games I grew up with when I first got my PS2. The gameplay is nearly perfect, with little faults in the level design. The extras really made the game for me, though. The skill points are amazingly fun to attempt. Killing enemies by refracting a laser beam at them? Sounds like fun!

3. Kingdom Hearts 2

Say what you want, but this is by far my favorite game in the whole series. The many worlds made the game a much more enjoyable experience and the Gummi Ship missions are amazingly fun.

2. Super Mario World

The inevitable choice here. This is by far my favorite SNES game of all time. Sure I never grew up with it, and I've only beaten it once, but this game still holds a special place in my stomach heart.

1. Spyro the Dragon

THIS. GAME. IS. AMAZING. This game is living proof that graphics don't make or break a game. The gameplay is by far the best I've ever experienced and Stewart Copeland's soundtrack for the game is just divine. If you hate this game, then shame on you and your family.

Feel free to rant on mine and other's opinions. As for you, post your lists.
5. Super Mario 64
This was the first video game I ever played. And that's probably why I love video games so much. The graphics were nice and colorful, the music was beautiful, and the levels were just damn fun to play. I enjoyed messing around in the game, which I really can't say about any other game I've played.

4. Pokemon Ruby Version
This was the first Pokemon game I ever played. Playing it after school was so fun, since all my friends had their own Pokemon game as well. We would trade and battle like there's no tomorrow. At the time, I thought the graphics were amazing, and the Pokemon were awesome. The music was super catchy, and I still find myself humming the songs today.

3. Donkey Kong Country Returns
This was the greatest throwback to any game ever. When I popped this sucker in my Wii on Christmas, I felt like I was playing DKC all over again. I didn't want to stop playing. The graphics were simply gorgeous, and the music made me feel like I was actually in DK's world. It was so upbeat and jazzy, how could you not feel like you're in a jungle with the atmosphere it creates? And beating the final boss makes you feel so accomplished. It's a thrill that can't be matched.

2. Super Mario Galaxy 2
This has to be the best Wii game of all time. If I was forced to throw away every game I have for Wii except for 1, this would be the one I save. The atmospheres varied so much, it made you feel the creativity of the creators. The graphics were stunning, especially because half the time I felt like I was playing a PS3 game, except, NOT horrible. The music was brilliantly composed, with every song setting the mood of every level. There wasn't a single time when the music didn't change how I was feeling.

1. Paper Mario
I'm a sucker for RPGs. That's why this game has sucked me in and never released me. It takes my favorite video game character ever and turns it into an RPG. What's not to like? Judging from the title, you'd expect the game to have horrible graphics, but not once was I NOT amazed by the graphics. Whether I was in Shiver City or Lavalava Volcano, I was mesmerized by the beautiful textures, lighting, and overall look of the graphics. All that on a 64 bit cartridge? Damn! The music was simply beautiful. It had the most memorable songs in any video game. So much that I downloaded the entire soundtrack. If you don't like every single aspect of this game, shame on you. You're a horrible person.
5.Yume Nikki (PC)

I always find mysterious/dark games interesting. Not those Mystery games in which you find for clues, but just starting with nothing, and trying to understand just what the hell is going on. Yume Nikki was a game that didn't even start you with rules on how to play, but made you search into the darkest places just for power-ups. and the ending...That was not what i expected...

4.Super Widget (SNES)

a random game on the Super Nintendo by Altus, but it offered much. Great music, many power-ups that all allow different gameplay. and some pretty fun fights. I never cared for storylines when i was a kid, but this was a very fun game for me. So i'm still ignoring that now when i write this.

3.X-men Mutant Apocalypse (SNES)

IMO, some of the Greatest music from Capcom is on this game! You get to play between five of the X-Men; Cyclops, Phycloke, Beast, Wolverine, and Gambit. Fighting trains, Sentential of a variety of sizes, Apocalypse, Magneto, Omega-Red, and Juggernaut.

2.Legend of Zelda Majoria's Mask (N64)

As i said about dark games interesting me. Majoria's Mask was batshit insane! A very creepy game, and the awesomeness of playing as a Duku, Goreon, and a Zora.

1.Conker's Bad fur Day (N64)

This game is EVERYTHING. Fighting a bull, Joining a war, Killing an Alien, Fighting shit, Surfing lava, Turn into a bat, Matrix, you do a lot in this game. The multiplayer was equally as great as the single player. You had a choice of games, from team death match, to playing as rival bank robbers killing each other in the attempts to get a bag of cash to your vault. Playing as Frenchies trying to run past Nazi Teddys to escape a beach (also able to play as the teddys). Everyone driving Tanks trying to blow each other up. There was a lot to do in that game...

Ninja'd
(Note: Not counting anything that I play on computers)

5. Kirby's Epic Yarn (Wii)

Blah blah blah blah sure it's so "easy" you can't even die blah blah blah blah sure it doesn't have the normal Kirby gameplay BLAH. I still have a lotta fun with it.

4. Pokemon Black (DS)

Even though my Pokemon interest seems to be wearing thin once again, this is probably the most creative mainstream Pokemon in a long time.

3. Pokemon HeartGold (DS)

Crystal was the first game I seriously played, and this is a great remake.

2. Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door (GCN)

I never actually finished playing (the farthest I got was right before the chapter where you go to the moon), but most of what I played of it so far is awesome. Other then the Twilight Town chapter. I HATE THE PART WHERE YOU LOSE YOUR IDENTITY WITH A FIERY PASSION.

(couldn't remember any chapter titles lol)

1. Professor Layton and the Unwound Future (DS)

I fucking love everything about this game and I have no idea why.
Good fucking bye.
Here's my list of my top 5 games in no particular order (with one exception):

- Metroid Prime:
This was the first game I played in the Metroid series. Not only that, but I enjoyed exploring Tallon IV, with it's great graphics and plentiful secrets. I liked this game so much, that I got Metroid Prime Trilogy just so I could play this game again after losing my original copy (despite the fact that I already bought a copy of Metroid Prime 2 and 3 and I still had them.)

- The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker:
At the time this game came out, I wasn't a fan of Zelda games. Once I got this game, I became a Zelda fan. In fact, this is still my favorite game in the series, even after I played all the other games in the Zelda series (not counting the awful CD-I games).

- Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story:
This was, in my opinion, the best of the three Mario and Luigi games. This was one of the more interesting and creative games I've ever played, and it serves as the main inspiration for my upcoming collab hack, Yoshi's Inside Story. It was nearly perfect save for two minor things: the slight lack of replay value and the fact that Yoshi isn't present (In my opinion, a Mario game that came out after SMW that doesn't have Yoshi in it in some way = Epic Fail).

- Super Smash Bros. Brawl:
What's not to like about a game with seemingly endless replay value, like this one? Even after playing this for well over 800 hours, I still find something new, whether it's a glitch, or some trick I didn't know about. I enjoyed the other two games in the Smash Bros. series, but I enjoyed this much more.

1. Yoshi's Island- Surprising, isn't it? Yoshi's Island is my all time favorite game. If I were to review this game using a 10 point scale, I would easily give this game an 11. I can find virtually nothing wrong with this game. From it's excellent graphics, excellent music, and excellent gameplay, there is nothing about this game that I don't like. Even things, like glitches and baby Mario's crying, don't bother me. Also, there's a reason why I'm not hacking this game. It's because I actually think it's impossible to improve on this game (heck, even Nintendo couldn't do it with Yoshi's Island DS). Of course, that shouldn't stop others from trying to improve upon it or to make a new game based off of it, though.
My Hacks:
Mario's Strange Quest V1.6
Yoshi's Strange Quest V1.3 / V1.3.1 Beta 4.6
Mario & Yoshi's Strange Quests (2/10/2023 Build)

Other stuff:
My SMW/SMAS/SMAS+W disassembly
Yoshifanatic's Discord Server: A place for fans of my stuff and/or Yoshi to chat with others.
5. Burnout Paradise (PS3)
This game is almost impossible to finish, there's always something new to do, always something to keep you busy. Online plus separate online challenges and tasks just add on to the extremely high replay value this game has. Not to mention custom soundtrack and downloadable content weekly.

4. Super Mario 64 (N64)
Do I need to give a reason for this game? It's just extremely nostalgic and fun, and was the first game I ever played on N64.

3. Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga (GBA)
Yet another awesome classic I enjoyed as a toddler. So many memories rest in this game, and I often times find myself randomly going back to beat it over and over again, trying my best to collect more than I previously did.

2. Mortal Kombat 9 (PS3)
This game is surely the king of fighting games, without a doubt. With all the fighters, fatalities, stages, story mode, and a 300 challenge mode, not to mention online and "The Kyrpt" this game outta keep you buys for a while. Also, interior character design for the win.

1. Left 4 Dead 2 (PC)
I don't have enough time to explain just how much I love this game. I'm hooked to it, I really am. Iv been meaning to play Terraria lately but just can't stop playing this. Awesome fast paced zombie killing, 4 player coop, so many different fun modes to play from, different people to play with each time, all these achievements, this is most definitely the greatest game ever, in my opinion.
Ohhhh man, this is going to be hard to choose... Well here we go!

5) Super Mario World: Well yeah, why do you think I am hacking it haha. Well I have been playing this game since I was 4 (since 1998) and it has just been implanted in my memory. I think I know where every life, and moon is, also I can clear all of the exits =) So I am pretty much a pro at it, not trying to brag, but I guarantee that everyone here must be a pro at it.

4) Paper Mario N64: Oh yeah, definetly! This is a Mario, but with an RPG touch =D I always have loved this game, I was so happy when I beat it, but also sad because it was over... but I went ahead and beat it again and again. I also have it on my laptop, right now I just got passed Lavalava Island. This game just makes the Mario franchise better I believe.

3) Yoshi's Island: Well what can I say... Pretty much the most amazing game ever! I mean I get to play as my most favorite character in the Mario series. (FYI I named my dog Yoshi, may he rest in peace...) Just the way this game looks... It brings back a childhood memory of my gaming days, I love how the enemies look, and the look of all the levels is great, I don't know how to explain it haha. But My favorite game out of all the Mario games.

2) Zelda: The Orcarina of Time: Wow now this is the best game for the N64. I liked the other Zeldas, but this one definetly takes the cake. So many damn secrets! My favorite thing to do in that game... Is get Biggoron's Sword. Man, that thing is a tank! My favorite part of the game is being the adult Link, and beating all of the Temple Bosses. And the last boss... Ganon. That was an awesome fight. I just beat the shiz out of him with Biggoron's Sword, he never had a chance hahaha.

And Now... Time for...
NUMERO UNO!!
1!) Modern Warfare 2: Oh yeah, this is the game of games. I love the single player story, it continues right off from the Call of Duty 4 campaign, which I really wanted to see the next phase of it, and I got to! =D Also the Multiplayer... AMAZING. Quick scoping, awesome knife throws, akimbo weapons, simply great. My most favorite weapons... and akimbo sub-machine guns (except for Vectors, I do not really like those). But pretty much the best game in my eyes =D

5)Pokemon White
(This was a tie between Yoshi's Island[SNES] and Kirby Super Star[Snes] and Pokemon White I decided to use the newer game just because its newer). Even though originally I was a little skeptic in that I was going to like this as much as all the other Pokemon Games it ended up being my favorite pokemon game so far. The reason for being worried was the pokemon's design, which is what I'm worried for every generation. This game spawned my new two favorite pokemon,Emolga and Minccino. Initially I had picked out my team which consisted of pokemon I liked just by their looks. I was barely able to make a full team out of it(Serperior,Unfezant,Emolga,Minccino,Excadrill, and Axew, yes I refuse to evolve it). However after playing through it a bit more I have become rather fond of some other few pokemon as well such as Volcarona and Chandelure.

4)Super Mario All Stars
Well it had all the Super Mario Bros games which I all enjoyed including the Japanese SMB2 with improved graphics. Not much has to be said why really.

3)Super Mario 64
This is one of the other games that I keep coming back to. The music was beautiful and memorable and the levels were real fun to play. I have played this way too many times yet I won't stop.

2)Worms Armageddon/Worms World Party
This is a game that I usually never really think about when I think of my favorite game even though this is easily the game that I have played the most than any other game. I loved the gameplay and weapons(Holy Hand Grenade). Pushing off a worm off a ledge to get the win was great. Going all ninja with the ninja rope was definitely some fun as well. I remember playing online going into normal,Shoppa, WxW games. Even now I go on once in a while. Recently thought I have been playing Worms Reloaded which is a more recent worms game that isn't that bad but doesn't do justice when compared to Worms Armageddon or Worms World Party.(Gimped Ninja Rope is an example)

1)Paper Mario 64
This is my favorite game of my favorite series so yeah number 1. I liked the entire soundtrack, graphics, practically everything in the game was right to me. Whatever it may be it keeps making me coming back to replay again and again. I've played through it over 15 times now yet still don't get bored. I also didn't dislike any chapter in the game which can't be said for PMTTYD.
Being the huge Gamecubeian I am (thats right, just stick "ian" and the end of any word and it is now a type of person) most of the games are off the Gamecube.

5: CUSTOM ROBO

What can I say? This game is awesome, everything is so well designed, the writing, the graphics, the gameplay, its amazing. The story mode is just like playing an anime, with everything from hot girls to robots to over the top ways of showing emotions. Not to mention the brilliant multiplayer, there is even a cool first person mode you can unlock.

I just found this at Gamestop one day and was like "sure, why not?" and I haven't regretted it.

4: Gauntlet: Dark Legacy

A great fantasy RPG game that is just so fun to play its insane. I never get tired of it, even if I have been fighting the Spider Queen for 3 hours to get my Jester up to level 99. Its really one of those games you have to play for yourself.

3: Time Splitters 2

This is a brilliant first person shooter that I think everyone should play, any game in the series really, this just happens to be the one I own. You move from location to location, time period to time period, shooting zombies, aliens, monkeys, gangsters, Japanese super hackers, etc etc etc. The multiplayer is amazing as well, with many different game modes, guns, locations, characters, it almost never ends it seems.

2: Minecraft/Terraria

I am merging these two into one not because I think they are the same game, but because I can't decide which one deserves the spot more, so I will just leave it at that.

Other than that, it there really any description necessary for these two games at this point?

AND NUMBER ONE!!!

FIRE EMBLEM: PATH OF RADIANCE

Yes, this game. This game is so FUCKING AWESOME. A strategy RPG about a group of mercenaries who go on a journey around a huge continent to save it from the rule of an evil King who rules over a nation bordering the nation in which the main hero, Ike, resides. This group grows as it moves on and finally growing into a small army.

Another game you really have to play for yourself.
Tough.

5) Banjo-Kazooie/Tooie
I grew up with these games, and they were some of the most fun I've ever had. The witty dialogue from Gruntilda (and all of the other characters) mixed with some wide and varied levels + an awesome hub made the series loads of fun to play.

4) The N64 Bombermans
All of them, really. In my opinion, the ones before and after lacked so much in comparison to these (especially Bomberman Hero and The Second Attack). Both games utilized unique bomb gimmicks, crafty level design, and a pretty cool storyline to boot.

3) Everquest
I really hate including an MMO on here, but I played this game for a good 9-10 years on and off and had a great time with it. Nowadays, I wouldn't recommend it at all, but back before WoW, it basically defined the MMO genre. It was also one of the only MMOs I've ever played that actually took genuine skill + utilizing the terrain to your advantage (especially as a caster class).

2) Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door
Easily my favorite Mario RPG, as well as one of my favorite games in general. It's the only game from the Gamecube era I've kept, and I've beaten it at least three times now. The storyline, music, gameplay, graphics, and all other extra aspects just mesh together so well and make for a truly engaging experience.

1) Okami
I'll likely stand by this thought forever. The mix of a fantastic storyline, unique graphics, interesting gameplay, and amazing music creates what I consider to be the "perfect" game (well, I still wish it was a tad bit more difficult).
this is a hard list, and i may be forgetting some games i played (but then does that mean they weren't good enough to be remembered?).

5.super mario all stars + super mario world - snes
obviously, i like mario. smas was one of the first games i ever played. i love me some platforming and mario games always deliver. when i found out that you could get smw on same cartridge, i was in heaven. 4 great platformers (i don't like smb2usa) in one game. all of which i could play right now and still enjoy. 'timeless' or 'classic' would be the best way to describe this game. so simple yet always fun.

4. jet set radio future - xbox
my mother got an xbox for our family in december 2001 or 2002. it was super fun. one year for ayamiha (religious holiday), she took me and my 4 other siblings to the store and said when could each pick out 1 game. i don't remember what i went with but my little step-sister picked this game. being a little kid, i tried it out and loved it. the characters and art for the game wee amazing. the music was the perfect fit. the premise of spray painting and riding around areas was great. the spray paint itself was great. it was basically like a tony hawk game but with roller skates. multiplayer was fun too. i've only played through 2 or 3 times but damn i played the shit out of that game. too bad the xbox doesn't work anymore. a few years ago i hooked up the system just to play this game.

3. final fantasy 5 advance - gba
good music, good story and a fucking ton of ways to play thanks to its awesome job system. towards the end it gets super easy but it's definitely a great experience every time. portable too.

2. mega man battle network 3b or 6f - gba
i had a lot fun with these. most of the series is a great addition to the 'action rpg' genre. they have just the right amount of strategy and skill (albeit luck plays a factor). 3 was incredibly lengthy and offered a challenge all throughout. i was older and better at game in general by the time 6 came out. i ended up S-ranking every boss in it's hardest form and playing for +40 hours. it was fun to just pick up and play the bosses every now and then too.

1. pokemon - ds
the first game-thing i owned was a lime-green gamboy color with pokemon blue. i've found it fun since i was 8. the competitiveness of the battling and the cuteness of the collecting. fun fact: it helped improve my reading skills when i was younger.

Well, this is gonna be hard, but...

5) Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door

Now, when I first saw this game, I thought it was terrible, then 3 years later, I brought the sequel, and after liking Super Paper Mario alot, I brought this, and it makes me feel foolish for not buying it ages ago. It's a great game with great story, excellent RPG battle system, and it's seperated into chapters, each more awesome than the last, except for Twilight town.

Agreed, in my opinion, it takes way too long to do that chapter because of that.

4) Street Fighter 2 - The World Warrior

The first fighting game I owned, and probably still the best, it has an amazing soundtrack and the characters are kick ass, and it's basically where the series took off. The second best street fighter game for me so far is Super Street Fighter 4, but that's probably because it's similar to Street Fighter 2 in a sense.

3) Chrono Trigger

Probably the best RPG I've played, so it's a pity it took so long to get into Europe, but I've only legally got the copy a short while ago on the DS, and yet now, they've released on the virtual console, go figure. >_<

Anyways, Chrono Trigger has a epic plot, the characters are amazing, and near every character in the game has their own little reason for either destroying, or wanting to use Lavos, the parasitic creature that destoys the future. Just amazing.

2) Super Mario Galaxy 2

Now, the first Super Mario Galaxy game was epic, and had a staggering soundtrack, but the sequel is worthy of the reception it got in my opinion, because you got Yoshi back, even better levels with new mechanics, and the soundtrack leaves you standing in awe whilst listening to it, as if the music was some form of power over your will.

1) Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time

The first 3D Zelda title, and it's impossible to describe with words, because that's just how great it is. The story of one boy and a princess with his fairy taking on a king of thieves is just awesome. And the way the gameplay is kept fresh because the dungeons are mystifying to explore, but that makes it all the more rewarding to find new weapons and defeat the boss. A truly great game.

...Wow, that was a massive wall of text there... o_O
I don't have a top 5 per se because it constantly changes but let's list the games I have thoroughly enjoyed (and obviously still do).

5) GTA IV
"This is an ugly city." Hey, it's GTA. With Niko Bellic. The Serbian. This game knows how to entertain you without following the interesting main story. Rocket Launcher? Check. Crossroads? Check. Position on a high rooftop? Check. Let the games begin! Of course you can also just jack a car and start driving over a shitload of passers-by. Why? Why not! This game ain't gettin' boring. Never. Say never.

4) Marvel vs Capcom 3
The game that made me realize how awesome fighting games are. With a roster of 30+ characters from the Capcom and Marvel universe, there's something for everybody. Always wanted to beat Wesker's wrinkly ass with Deadpool while spouting silly lines? Sure, you got it. Always wanted to Tatsumaki Senpukyaku Zero's ass with Ryu? Sure, you got it. There're loads of moves and loads of combos you can toy around with. And once you're bored of Singleplayer, you hop online and kick some Sentinel ass!

3) Fallout 3
Oooohh, how I love roaming the Wasteland, looting stuff and becoming the number one threat. Never has an RPG fascinated me so much as this one. I have clocked at least 150 hours into this game with two playthroughs through the main quest. It's simply loads of fun pickpocketting people and in return arm a grenade in their pants. Or running around with a Fatman nuking Super Mutants with Mini-Nukes. Get this game. If you don't, you're dumb.

2) Portal 2
I haven't played the first Portal yet. I was mainly looking for a game I can co-op with my bro as we didn't have anything else to play together for the meantime. I ended up getting sucked into the Singleplayer mode and now can safely declare that this is the most ingenious puzzle game I have ever played to date. The puzzles as stated are great, the story is hilarious and the characters awesome. I ended up beating Singleplayer twice and getting all SP achievements as well. Without a doubt a must-have. If you don't buy this game, I'm gonna burn your house down. With combustible lemons.

1) Mortal Kombat 9
Oh yeah man, this game is a blast. I have never played a Mortal Kombat game before but this one is sheer awesomeness. Lots of characters, lots of moves, lots of fatalities, everything one can wish for in a brutal fighting game. Only downside is that some fatalities resemble other ones in one way or another. Regardless, if you're looking for a gory fighter, Mortal Kombat 9 is your preferred pick.
This is a difficult list to come up with. And I'm probably forgetting something.

5) Spyro the Dragon 1-3
I've enjoyed these games since I first played them... probably in the early 2000s. It takes extensive exploration to complete the games 100%, and I enjoyed that exploration the whole time. Exploration just seems to be one of those things I like in my platformers. There was also some investigation mixed into that exploration. Especially in... I think it was Haunted Towers. You know, the level with the hollow suits of armor blocking your path. Before I had completed the level 100% the first time, I could never find the last dragon. Actually, that's not true; I could find it, I just couldn't reach it. You know how there;s that supercharge ramp at that one part? I was standing there and could hear the dragon, so I tried breaking every wall I could with the supercharge, then tried looking around more closely, and could see it THROUGH THE FLOOR. This is getting to be a wall of text, so I'll just cut it off here; you know how the story ends anyway (probably).

4) Super Mario World
For a lot of people, it seems this would be a toss-up between this and SMB3. Not so for me. SMW wins any day of the week. Not because SMB3 (or any other 2D Mario game I've played) sucks, which it doesn't. But because SMW has a map. A big map. It goes back to the exploration and investigation I mentioned earlier; with a map that big and no walkthrough, you're going to have to do a lot of searching to find everything. I couldn't even find Soda Lake and the paths to the Forest and Valley Fortresses back when I first played it (again, probably early 2000s), so I had to do a lot of exploring and investigating to figure it out. And I enjoyed every second of it. I'm still waiting for Nintendo to make a REAL SMW2 with a map that makes the SMW map look like, uh... Singapore compared to the USSR? I can't come up with a particularly good analogy. Honestly, the only reason this beats Spyro 1-3 is because this is more fast-paced.

3) Donkey Kong Country 2
I've already gone into walls of text about exploration/investigation in platformers twice in this post, so I'll make this as short as possible with the ultimate example of what I'm talking about. Web Woods took me several years to complete. You already know what that has to do with anything; I've mentioned it twice already. Aside from that, the gameplay was highly varied with all the clever gimmicks in the levels and the music is some of the best music I've heard in any video game ever.

2) Super Smash Bros. Brawl
I like fighting games. Problem is, I'm terrible at most of them. Not SSB. The controls are simple, the replay value is high, the pace is fast, the playable characters are abundant, the potential for epic combo-like stuff is great, and it helps that I first played SSB back when every game I played automatically became one of my favorites a decade later (early 2000s). By the way, the only reason I picked Brawl is because it has more variety in the gameplay, since it has 35 characters. (How many of you were expecting me to mention the exploration in the SSE?)
Speaking of abundant playable characters...

1) Gotcha Force
I've probably said it before and I'll probably say it again, only about .0000001% of anyone has probably heard of this game, but it's still my favorite. It's a bit like what Pokémon would be if it had an actual battle system and robots instead of animals, only with five different types of shiny and a reasonable chance of getting them, giving the game PRETTY MUCH INFINITE REPLAY VALUE! The voice acting and story are admittedly not particularly good, and the experience system is horribly broken, but leveling up usually doesn't help too much (if it did, you could just get to level 10 most efficiently by repeatedly quitting battles) and with gameplay like this the game's flaws are pretty easy to forget about (Except for the allegedly bad camera, but you get used to that if it even causes you a problem to begin with). It's fast-paced, somewhat strategic, and has 198 NORMALLY PLAYABLE CHARACTERS! If you want to find out more about it, look it up on Wikipedia. Don't trust the "professional" reviewers. Form your own opinion on it.
OK, I won't include any computer games (coughtouhoucough) because I manly play on the Computer these days, but here I go:

5.- Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds
I dislike normal fighters, bt this one managed to slip through that rule with the quantitie [Uncertain about the Spelling] of characters of several games make this game fun, however, I hate that some characters are overpowered (being Dante, Wolverine an X-23 those I despise in the game more than anything) what make me having this game in this position.

4.- Metal Slug 3
Well, this game Is excellent for killing some small time, considering it's duration, and since SNK decided to include a list of POW, it becomes a challenge for completing it 100% (currently < 10% T.T), and not only that, because beign a 2 player game, it can be a competitive run or a cooperative one, and makes things more interesting.

3.- Super Smash Bros Brawl
Brawl has so many thing for a solo player to unlock and beat, like the boss rush or the cruel brawl, but the real fun comes either at the Subspace Emisary OR Versus mode, the possibilities in each match are endless, and I like this fighter more than the regular one because a match cannot be the same as the other.

2.- Resident Evil Outbreak File #2
I cannot understand how this game is so underrated, it's an excellent game on all aspects: difficulty, plot, strategy and so on. I enjoy to having to find my way through each scenario with all characters on all difficulties either alone or on team wih the AI. It's bad that Capcom decided to close the servers for the PS2 (but I've heard that the PS3 is compatible with this game)

1.- Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence
Now, we are talking about a masterpiece, a true legend here! Metal Gear Solid 3 Subsistence is PERFECT on each aspect of the game: Amazingly written plot? Check. Dynamic Difficulty? Check. Epic Music in Boss Battles? Check.
And the subsistence version of the game, exploits the longevity of the game even more! So this is a jewel that I will keep next to my heart.
Hello There
Man, I have a lot of trouble coming up with my top X favourite anything to be honest, but I'll try. The ordering probably isn't totally correct, but eh.

5. Earthbound / Mother 3 - SNES / GBA
Quite definitely the best RPGs I've ever played, with comedic and gripping storylines and an interesting style of gameplay. Things such as how enemies are encountered and the rolling HP meter make the games unique and fun. And the funny dialogue/text is always a bonus. On the whole, just some really good RPGs.

4. Portal / Portal 2 - PC
Yet another unique game with creative and interesting gameplay and hysterical dialogue. The puzzles are extremely creative and fun, making great use of the portal physics that make the games so interesting. No other puzzle game I can think of makes you think in new ways like Portal and its sequel do. Individually, both the original Portal and Portal 2 lack some of the things that make the other better, but together they make an incredible series of games.

3. Conker's Bad Fur Day - N64
The N64 games made by Rareware were all totally amazing in every aspect, from gameplay to aesthetics to plot, and Conker's Bad Fur Day is definitely no exception to this. The entire premise of the game is hilarious, with great cutscenes and characters (The Great Mighty Poo), and also gameplay that changes throughout the great length of the game, never leaving you bored. Every part of the game is a lot of fun, from feeding a mouse pieces of cheese, riding a barrel down a mountain, and going to war against evil mechanical Tediz. The multiplayer modes are also a great addition to the already expansive singleplayer game.

2. Super Smash Bros. (series) - N64 / Gamecube / Wii
(Not so much Melee, because I don't have it and am not very good at it or play it often.) One of the first video games I ever played was the original Super Smash Bros., and I still love the series today. Obviously it's a lot more fun if you have friends or siblings of similar skill levels that you can play with often, something I'm lucky enough to have. Like any other multiplayer game, every match is different so the games have pretty much infinite replayability. I used to play the SSBs with my brothers for several hours a day, and even though I don't play them as often any more, they're still amazingly fun (and SSB isn't really a game you forget how to play, due to its simplicity).

It was really hard to come up with a number one favourite game, and this probably isn't entirely true, but I figured it was good and obscure enough for me to put it on the top of the list:
1. Jet Force Gemini - N64
Oh my god this game is amazing. Even though I've only beaten it once. Action/Adventure Third-Person Shooter, extremely expansive and fun, awesome soundtrack (as with just about every other Rareware game), and all around awesome in every way (except the multiplayer was a bit lacking, but the game's singleplayer is so massive I doubt it would even be possible to make a multiplayer equivalent of it). At some points it's almost impossible to figure out how to continue without a walkthrough, but that's sort of the nature of the game, to make you explore everything. (To reach the final level you basically need 100% completion.)
Also you get to play as a dog with jetpacks on its feet. Who halfway through the game becomes a tank and gets caterpillar tracks.

Honorary mentions have to go to:
Diddy Kong Racing (N64), Tetrisphere (N64), Super Mario Advance 2: Super Mario World (GBA), the Pokémon series + Stadium/Colosseum (too many consoles), Worms World Party (PC), VVVVVV (PC), Super Mario 64 DS (DS), the Mario Kart series (too many consoles), Yu-Gi-Oh!: Capsule Monster Coliseum (PS2) (cool game though), and Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy (PS2).

Just a bunch of games I really like and could have maybe made it onto my list. Maybe.
May we meet again outside the battlefield.
5. Super Smash Bros. Series and Call of Duty 4
I included these two together because they are similar in what they mean to me. I played the Smash Bros. for about ten years and Call of Duty 4 for about three years, avidly. These games are essentially the defining multiplayer titles (to me at least). If not for the Smash Bros. series, I can't honestly say that I would have had the childhood friends that I did. Whether I actually liked the games or that they gave me things to do with friends, I still had a blast playing them for years.

4. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
This is pretty much the nostalgia pick. The game hasn't aged that well, but it's still a decently enjoyable game to play. This was the first 3-D adventure game I played, and it blew my imaginative mind. Also, the dungeon design is original and very well-done, even by today's standards.

3. Earthbound
To know that people are still discovering things about this game sixteen years later really speaks terms of how interestingly deep it is. The world this game creates throughout its immensely well-written dialogue really wins me over. I'm typically a very impatient person who can't finish RPGs, let alone long games, but I enjoyed my way all the way through this one. It was a true adventure.

2. The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
A lot tend to be turned off from the three day time limit this game exhibits, but I find it brilliant and well-executed. This game is really a lot deeper than what meets the eye. Its incredibly dark atmosphere hit a chord with me from the moment I picked up the game, and it's aged like bottled wine.

1. Okami
The only game in which I've actually wept from the sheer amount of emotion immersed within its brilliant world. I tend to find video games - or any form of art, really - are best when they can successfully immerse one within their world. Okami did this at a level I have not yet seen matched, whether it be through the terrific music, incredible graphics, memorable characters, or great story.
